Dr. Fandel became a dentist because of his love of the medical field. However, in his youth he was very good with his hands, whether it was building things like models or helping his father work on their family car, and he decided that he wanted a career where he could use his passion and skills to help people.
Dr. Fandel attended The University of Mississippi, from 1983 to 1986 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He entered the Air Force Dental Corps in July 1991 after receiving his DMD from the University of Mississippi, Jackson. Dr. Fandel retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel having been stationed abroad in Guam, Germany and Romania. As a dental professional in the Air Force Dental Corps he participated in Operation Pacific Haven and Super Typhoon Paka Humanitarian efforts and also was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq to support the second Gulf War. As Chief of Dental Services in Iraq, he played a key role in the forensic identification of Uday & Qusay Hussain and other high ranking BAATH party members and responded to numerous mass casualty events including the UN bombing in Baghdad. Having joined the military to do his part for his country, Dr. Fandel was the recipient of a dozen awards and decorations for outstanding and meritorious service.
Dr. Fandel is married to his lovely wife Frances and they have 5 children Nicholas, Lauren, Jaymie, Dylan and Marc. Dr. Fandel loves sports. He is a big baseball fan, having played baseball at NE Mississippi Junior College and at Ole Miss. He also loves golf and is an avid golfer. When not at the practice, he spends time with his family swimming, fishing and building models.

10/10 Recommend Dr. Fandel and his staff! I am not one to willingly go to the dentist, as a matter of fact I have put it off to the point it became a "have to" situation. I have alot of anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist due to experiences in the past. My very first call to try and make an appointment, I was greeted with kindness and compassion. The day of my appointment, I walked in nervous and anxious, but was soon settled. The ladies at the front, the gal that helped me with my initial exam and X-rays and Dr. Fandel were all extremely kind and understanding. Dr. Fandel was very thorough with his explanation and plan of action to get me fixed up. He had me come back the following day so we could get my situation handled and get me to feeling better. I left feeling comfortable and alot less anxious to return the following day. The day of my extraction of an infected tooth and my wisdom tooth behind it, of course I was anxious of the unknown but was once again greeted with kindness, compassion, patience and understanding. Dr. Fandel worked diligently to make sure that I was comfortable and pain free before moving forward with the extractions. Talk about a man with some patience... because it took awhile to get me to that point. I greatly appreciate him and the dental assistant that was helping him with my procedure, they worked great as a team and made it seem pretty effortless. I appreciated Dr. Fandel talking me through the entire process and letting me know what he was doing as he went along. On another note, it is very welcoming and inviting in the lobby/waiting area, not like walking into a commercialized medical/dental practice. They also have music that is playing in the rooms so it is not like walking into a silent, closed in, white room where you feel uneasy to begin with. The music was down the day of my procedure and Dr. Fandel let me turn music on from my phone to help me feel at ease. If you are looking for someone who pays attention to detail, is non judgmental, compassionate and truly cares about their patients... this is the place for you. I was asked before I left if I had a dentist that I normally see and I said " no, but I do now!" I will be returning to Dr. Fandel for all of my future dental work and can work on getting on a preventative track instead of an emergency basis. If you chose to go to Dr. Fandel for your dental needs, you will not be disappointed. I read through alot of reviews for various places before choosing Concho Valley Family Dental and all of the positive that I read were why I chose to go there and after my own experience I will say that they are spot on.

Today was my very 1st visit and from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The atmosphere and decor was so Beautiful and I was called in After my paper work was done. The hygienist that took my x-rays was so nice and very gentle and she also did my cleanings she was so nice and told me exactly everything she was doing and what she saw and what my plan was for treatment she was just amazing. Then it was time for to see the Dentist he was so welcoming down to earth and also went step my step of what he saw and what he thought what he recommended and I totally agree with him. He was the nicest Dentist I've ever had as well as the Hygienist. Every one there was so kind and welcoming. I totally recommend you won't me disappointed.

Years ago, I had a very dreadful interaction with another dentist that kept me afraid to go the dentist. When I shared this with Dr. Fandel, he has gone out of his way to make sure I feel comfortable both physically and mentally during my dental visits. He always double-checks with me to make sure the numbing agent is working well before starting the procedure, and checks in with me throughout the dental work to ascertain my comfort level. And his positive and informative manner makes me feel understood and respected as a client. I always leave the clinic feeling happy to have found the right place to help me maintain my teeth!

Grt staff & grt Dentist , highly.recommend ! Been seeing them for 3 + yrs now. My daughter has Downs Syndrome and Dr Fendyll is wonderful with her , she loves Him and the hygienist is super patient .

I am so grateful I found this place. The staff are great, the hygienists are great, and Dr. Fandel is great. It seems he is often training and teaching new staff. He is always kind to them, and he does a great job making me and I'm sure his other patients feel comfortable. I hate dental work. I'd rather be eaten by sharks or have thousands of fire ants poured all over my body than sit in that horrid chair, but despite my anxieties, I always leave the office feeling valued and listened to. I've only experienced minimal pain while they work on my teeth. Being out of network does kind of suck, but I really can't imagine going anywhere else ever again. As far as dentists go Dr Fandel and his staff are the best I've ever been to.

I absolutely love Dr Fandel. He is so sweet and kind. Made me feel so so comfortable and he definitely wants to try and save as many of my teeth as possible. I absolutely loved all his staff they all have been extremely kind and very informative to me. Ive always been scared of dentist. But i know i am in hood hands. Thank you so so much

Dr. Fandel has been my dentist for a little more than six months. In that time I've had two cleanings and a night guard made. Dr. Fandel's office has technology,I had not seen before, to kill bacteria in the mouth as well as a device that uses water to help with cleanings so the hygienist, Makenzie, does not have to scrape as much. In my life I've had a number of impressions made one of which was for a night guard I used as a teen. The impression Marc made was the best in that it was not wobbly therefore the guard fits snugly, as it should. Finally, Dr. Fandel is thorough and friendly. He tries to never hurt his patients. No doctor wants to hurt people but, he intentionally tries not to.
