Maintaining a solid oral health routine is important, no matter how old we are. But as we grow older, taking good care of our teeth becomes even more crucial. Ask our dentist at Concerned Dental Care and youll learn some vital information about how taking steps today will prevent problems from surfacing later.

First, its essential to recognize how our teeth like the rest of our bodies change over time. Our mouths go through stages in which the nerves in our teeth start becoming smaller. This may sound like a good thing, but its actually just the opposite. Smaller nerves in our teeth mean we become less sensitive to cavities and other irritations and issues that may arise. This makes coming in for regular checkups and exams by our dentist even more crucial for diagnosing issues you may not even realize are occurring.

A host of other issues lead to older people becoming more prone to getting cavities. One is dry mouth, a side effect caused by hundreds of commonly prescribed medications, including for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, allergies, Parkinsons and Alzheimers diseases. Make sure to tell the dentist about the medications you are taking for recommendations on how to relieve dry mouth.

Gum, or periodontal, disease is also commonly detected among older people because it is often painless. This condition occurs due to the buildup of plaque that sticky, bacteria-filled coating that contributes to decay. Periodontal disease can cause the gums to recede from your teeth, opening the door for potential tooth loss if untreated. Our dentist also makes sure to screen for cancers of the mouth, throat and tongue, which can develop without causing any discomfort.

If I could give this office 0 stars I most definitely would! Every time I call to make an appointment or check up on charges and insurance approvals the office does not answer the phone which is something that other patients have addressed to me while we wait to be checked, the front desk is very welcoming however the dentists as well as the dental assistants don't seem to be at all concerned for the reason of my visit, I came in today Monday, October 31st 2022 at 10am with a dental emergency due to wisdom tooth pain as well as one of my front teeth being broken and was told to come back at 2pm. Once I returned to the office I was sent to a room which I waited over 45 minutes to be seen by my dentist and during that time many assistants walked in and out of the room without any acknowledgement of ny presence or any updates on when I was going to be seen by the dentist, after an hour the dentists comes in simply to inform me that the requests they put in to my insurance on 01/18/2021 were not approved, I informed the dentist of my emergency which he then proceeded to ask if I could wait for him to be done with a previous patient so that he could attend to me, after another 30 minutes he comes back and asks about my wisdom tooth and the broken one as well as another one they has removed over a year ago and proceeded to inform me that I will need another X-Ray. Not once during this time did they check my teeth, given that I had not been there in over 18 months. Another 15 minutes went by and I left the office... all this is to say that this office has no sense of doctor to patient care as well as no service skills, the staff is walking around clueless talking about nothing work related as other patients complain about the same issues I am having. They do not take people's time into consideration, they are in desperate need for a completely new staff or to simply close down if they can't perform up to their mission statement

Very unprofessional. Never pick up the phone, mess up your appointment and dont even recognize their errors....you the patient are the crazy one even showing them their own writing cards with the appointment dates and time.

Confirmed all my information before my appointment when arrived they couldn't find any information on me. Told me I wasn't covered. I was only covered medically. That wasn't true. I left the dental office got home and made calls and found out I also had dental coverage. I did all this before I went to the dentist office. I was very disappointed when I got to the office.

I had an appt scheduled for some time now for today. The hygienist didn't show up. No one called me to tell me this so I went in and then couldn't get my dental cleaning done. The ladies at the front desk were nice but this was super unprofessional of the business to do. Wasted money to get there for no service.

Max my Hygienist was Amazing! She saw me even though I was late, and she was super informative and didn't try to push any ideas on me. Just gave me info about all my options. The company itself can be pricey, but all in all if you have good insurance it's not a problem.

Alexandra is amazing! I called for an emergency appointment and she was calming, efficient, competent, and fast. She also gave me instructions to follow for the next 48 hours and explained the importance of the direction. I have not been seen but I feel better already! Thank you Alexandra!
