There, I played football for the Lakers on multiple National Championship teams as well as earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-medical Sciences. After attending dental school at theUniversity of Michigan, I returned home to West Michigan.

My continuousdental educationand clinical experiences have prepared me to help pioneer complete health and wellness, for all my patients, as well as utilize advanced techniques in moderndentistry. We here atComplete Health Dentistry, strive to treat our patients complete health. Properoral health carehas the ability to treat and/or prevent whole body diseases. Whether we are preventing cardiovascular disease or dementia, or we are treating an aspect of diabetes or decreasing the risk of a major heart attack or stroke, we treat everyone based on their individual health.

I especially enjoy getting to work with children and their families, setting them up for a lifetime of excellent oral health and overall wellness. A qualitydental practiceshould not be a fearful place, but a place where whole families feel at home. This is possible when patients are treated like family when they walk in and know that they are receiving the best possible care. I am a perfectionist by nature and pride myself with the ideal, artistic, craftsmanship in everything that I do.

When I am not enjoying dentistry and spending time with my patients, I am an avid family man and always an outdoorsman. Kristen and I have three daughters, Maddy, Grace, and Brooklyn, and two sons, Kyle and Reese. We live in theGrand Rapidsarea, and I am committed to being available to my patients and the community during all hours of the day, not just the hours that our office doors are open.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, and playing golf with my family. Being raised within a very close-knit family, I have always imagined the perfectdental practiceas an extension of my family. To me, my team members and patients are my brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Everyone deserves honesty and everyone deserves the highest quality modern medical care available, and that is what I strive to provide everyone who is a part of our dental family.

My name is Dr. Nicolas DeBoer. I grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan and attended University of Detroit Mercy for both undergrad and dental school completing my degree in 2013. I worked as an associate in Muskegon for two years and another office in the Grand Rapids for the past six years. I married my high school sweetheart after dental school and we have lived in Grand Rapids for the last eight years. We have two boys (Tatum and Jayden) and enjoy camping, fishing, sports, and exploring all of the unique places West Michigan offers.

My passion for dentistry has been shaped by my own need for some extensive dental work after an accident over a decade ago. Going through the process of being a patient myself and experiencing most aspects of dentistry, it has driven me to want to help others get through those same challenges. Seeing dentistry from a different perspective has allowed me to refine my compassion and empathy for each and every one of my patients. Becoming a part of Complete Health Dentistry has allowed me to transform my drive to help people and focus on not only their teeth, but their overall health. Knowing that there are so many ways that I can help improve my patients lives beyond their smile is a gift I strive to give to each patient I treat.

Complete Health Dentistry of West Michigan - General dentist in Grand Rapids, MI

Did you know that yourfamily dentist can detect the early warning signs of heart disease, diabetes, and other serious health conditions? While otherdentistsfocus on treating tooth damage and decay, ourGrand Rapids dentistfocuses on preventingoral health issuesfrom happening in the first place.

This makes sense when you consider that your teeth and gums are just as connected to the rest of your body as your heart and lungs. Studies have suggested thatgum diseasecan be an early symptom of diabetes and HIV/AIDS. This is because both these conditions lower your resistance to infection, which makes your gums more vulnerable todental plaqueand bacteria. This is just one of the many examples of howoral healthis connected to overall health.

Preventative dentistrycan help you save teeth and money. Its much more affordable to pay for preventive care such asteeth cleaningsorfluoride treatments, than it is to restore a tooth. OurGrand Rapids dentistoffers services toprevent tooth decayso you can enjoy a beautiful healthy smile. Its never too late to change your oral health habits.

This practice restored my faith in dentistry. Dr DeBoer saved a tooth that another dentist said should be pulled. The staff is experienced, caring and highly skilled. Don't go anywhere else!

Dental nerd alert. I worked in dental a long time and so did my daughters dad and a lot of our close friends and family. So naturally, we started her young and she started coming with us to cleanings when she was a baby to get her used to the dentist and not be scared of it. My daughter had her first filling today. She is 6. She was with her daddy and I was a complete nervous wreck! (probably best I wasn't there) he is way more calm in these situations. She loves going to get dental cleanings and I was scared this may be traumatic for her. Is she going to be scared? Is it going to hurt? Will she never want to go to the dentist again? She loved it! She Facetimed me after to show me . She told me she can't wait to go to school tomorrow to tell her friends that Dr. Nick used a super cool laser on her teeth and it didn't hurt and she wants to show everyone her fixed cavities . . She was so brave. Thank you complete health dentistry for always taking care of us and for giving us a place to go where we feel welcomed and loved ! You guys answer all my insane questions, deal with me bringing my kid to every cleaning and somehow manage to make it a fun experience for a 6 year old. My kid LOVES the dentist and we are so lucky to have u guys !

They overcharge for unnecessary services. Makes you believe that you need those services. My 2 dentist appointments doesn't need to be stretched out to 10 different appointments. Not to forget, delta dental will not be accepted here anymore. You pay the full price then submit a claim to get your money back from the insurance.

I recently had my two front teeth replaced by Complete Health Dentistry and am relieved and so happy to report a job very well done! Being self conscious of your smile can be a confidence killer, and coming from prior disappointing dental experiences, I was nervous. But this office came through for me, and I am so grateful to have my confident smile back. My case was a tough one, and replacing custom front teeth is a difficult task for dental offices and dental labs already. But as a team, Dr. DeBoer, his assistants and I were able to commit to a wonderful result. Even when there was a hiccup with my temporary teeth, one of the wonderful dental assistants, Courtney, was able to fix it almost immediately. She gave me enough confidence in my temporaries to wait for my permanent teeth and not rush the final result. When it came to install of my permanents, Courtney was able to schedule me to come back on the same day after working directly with the lab to perfect the details. That was immensely helpful! Dr. DeBoer was confident, competent and relatable through the whole experience. Thank you so very much to all who were involved !!!! Above and beyond for sure. I can finally close the bad teeth chapter and move on. Awesome !

They overcharge for non-covered procedures and recommend unnecessary equipment. They charged me my entire COVID stimulus check for a supposed needed "special" cleaning, and wanted to continuously charge me for it thereafter, scheduling more frequent visits. I left them and went to an Ivy League dentist who had never even used the device they told me I needed to buy, and the "special" cleaning was only $33. They are con artists.

10 months before visiting this office I separated from the military and had a comprehensive medical exam to include dental. One issue was discovered and rectified. So, I separated with no dental issues. My family moved to Grand Rapids after separation and had to find a new doctor. We decided to go with this office. Upon my annual check-up with Dr. Maring I was told that I have 4 fillings that need to be done, and my wife was told by Dr. Ritzema that she has 7 fillings. We were shocked. So, we decided to go to another dentist for a second opinion. Wife and I decided to chose our own new dentists (both in Plainfield) and did not tell them during our visits about prior visit to CHD (in order to avoid bias). Both mine and my wife's new dentist said that we had 0 cavities and/or bad fillings. I hope this review helps someone in making an informed decision. I would've given 1 star, but front office staff is very nice and the dental hygienist are pretty good as well.

Never had any issues with my teeth and I go here for the first time and they say I need 10 filings! I go through with it and even a year later and my teeth hurt every day from the work that was done. Before the appointment I had no issues.

There seems to be a negative review about this dentistry, and it is somewhat ironic the individual's name is "Karen." The review is nowhere near what I've experienced since my first visit with this establishment in mid-October. ALL staff members wear masks and make sure that all of their guests feel more than welcome. The environment is very much clean, the staff makes sure their guests are on the same level of understanding what procedure(s) is happening and why, while also focusing on the health aspect of each guest. If you're looking for a new dentist, strongly consider Complete Health Dentistry!

Switching to Complete Health Dentistry when I moved was the best thing I could've done for myself. Specifically, I absolutely love seeing my same Dental Hygienist every time! Molly is the kindest, most caring woman I've ever met and I look forward to my little visits with her. Overall a great company!

Con artist said I had a bunch of filling got 3/4 of the work done went to a different dentist thinking I would have another quarter of work to do and nope no cavity's mfer were drilling my teeth for no reason. Also would say I have a balance when I paid for my stuff in full every time. Don't waste your health or your money at this place. Would give a zero star if I could.

I've been to a lot of dentists over the years and I don't think I need to ever go to another. I've been treated like family since day one, I've never felt any judgement, I walk into a positive environment every single time I go, they've worked with me financially, and they do great work. What more could you ask for?

With a change in insurance, I had to find a new dentist as my prior dentist did not participate with my new insurance. Randomly, I called Complete Health Dentistry of West Michigan to establish a new patient routine dental check up. The receptionist was very kind answering questions, setting up an appointment, and was reassuring. In the meantime, having never been to their office, I had a dental emergency and needed to call Dr Christopher Ritzema at 10:30 pm one Thursday evening. He promptly called me back and despite having never met me, he quickly assessed the situation, was quite sympathetic, started a treatment, and scheduled me in for a 9 am appointment Monday. My experiences have been excellent! It truly is "complete dentistry" - they do it all right there in house - wonderful!! Dr Ritzema is intelligent and skilled; he seems to have a passion for his work with a genuinely kind spirit. The staff is friendly, warm, accommodating, and I feel sincerely care about who you are and your individual needs. I noticed a wide range of clientele and I loved that - it seemed all were welcome no matter! The facility was very clean and kept. Everyone adhered to COVID guidelines. Parking is easy; they do have handicap access if needed. I enjoyed the range of music played. And, a shout out to Courtney & Randi, my dental assistances - precious young ladies who I so enjoyed sharing conversations with about life.

Complete Health Dentistry is a great dental office with an even better environment. All members of the staff have been very hospitable and made me feel right at home since my first visit. Both the service and treatment I receive is top notch every single time. Would recommend to anyone in GR!

Our hygienist, Molly, is the best! She is so kind and patient. She made sure to educate my child about oral hygiene without shaming them. Also, my child is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. Molly switched pronouns like a pro. She made us feel so cared for and understood.

1st Class experience every time. Prior to my first visit, I hadn't been to the dentist in over a decade and I was very nervous. My fears quickly went away; Dr. Nick, Molly and everyone else at CH are so friendly and helpful. Zero judgement zone. I was immediately put on a personalized treatment plan and I am seeing amazing results already. Thank you CH! 10/10 would recommend
