When a tooth needs to be removed, Dr Etue has the ability to extract or pull teeth. He is well versed in both routine (simple) and surgical extractions. All extractions can be completed easily, and with sedation, can be a comfortable and quick procedure. There is usually no need to visit a specialist or seek treatment at the hospital; all your needs can be met under one roof.
Wisdom teeth or third molars are considered extra teeth that most people just dont have room for. Even if they do erupt or grown into our mouths, its very rare that they can be cleaned efficiently and not cause issues for their neighboring teeth. Dr Etue is able to remove these teeth, and with the use of IV sedation he can make the procedure comfortable, quick, and predictable. The days of fearing having our wisdom teeth removed are over!!
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth. There are two types of dental implants: small or mini and conventional or root form.
We take pride in offering our patients the latest technology in dental implants. We use an FDA-approved dental implant system that is proven to provide a long term solution for many of our denture wearing patients. This dental implant system, which is patient-friendly and cost-effective, includes a miniature titanium (an extremely strong and durable metal) implant with a ball-shaped head which acts like the root of a tooth and a tiny retaining fixture which acts as a socket. An O-ring connects the two and securely holds the denture in place, which provides comfort and peace of mind when speaking and chewing.
Root form or conventional implants are used to replace teeth, permanently hold down dentures, and bridges. A dental implant is actually a replacement for the root or roots of a tooth. The main difference between the two types of implants is that root form is used for permanent or fixed teeth-they do not come in and out of your mouth. Root form implants are known to be stronger than mini implants and have a wider variety of uses. And, because of their size, they last longer.
Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in the jawbone and are not visible once placed. They are used to secure crowns (the parts of teeth seen in the mouth), bridgework or dentures by a variety of means. They are made of titanium, which is lightweight, strong and biocompatible, which means that it is not rejected by the body. Titanium and titanium alloys are the most widely used metals in both dental and other bone implants, such as orthopedic joint replacements. Dental implants have the highest success rate of any implanted surgical device.
Dr Etue is able to place all implants in office in a predictable and pain free setting, ensuring you wont have to travel between multiple dental offices, saving your time and precious financial resources.
Success rates of dental implants vary depending on where in the jaw the implants are placed, but in general dental implants have a success rate of up to 94%. With proper care , implants can last many years and in some instances a lifetime.
We dont give much thought or even think of the health or importance of the bone our teeth sit in, but not only does it serve as the foundation for our teeth, it also plays a big part in our appearance. Bone can be lost by gum disease or if a tooth is missing or extracted. The bone may collapse and resorb into the empty socket and cause a sunken appearance to our cheeks or jaw. A bone graft can fix these conditions caused by dental disease or as a result of an accident, and can also be used to create a solid foundation for a dental implant.
Dr Etue is able to replace missing bone, and grow new bone in height and width with specific types of bone grafting techniques. This allows patients of all ages to obtain their cosmetic and functional goals with both fixed or permanent teeth and dentures.
The sinus lift or sinus lift graft procedure is a relatively common form of oral plastic surgery that is designed to increase the height of the maxillary or upper jaw bone so that further reconstructive work, such as dental implants, can be done. The maxillary sinuses are located behind the cheekbones and run from under the eyes to the area just above the upper back teeth. It is a relatively easy and predictable procedure, and Dr Etue will ensure you are comfortable.
Bone Recontouring or Alveoloplasty is a simple out patient procedure done on a routing basis by Dr Etue. Bone reshaping is most often completed with tooth removal but can be completed as an independent procedure. When teeth are removed the extraction socket left behind has sharp areas of bone under the gums. When the area heals these sharp areas can poke through the overlying gums making the area very sore, especially if a denture or partial is in use. Without some reshaping they can be very difficult to wear, and can even become sore.
