Dr. Douglas Hammond was born and raised in Decatur, AL. He graduated from Austin High School and is married to the former Gayle Wilkerson of Birmingham. They have two school aged children, Lauren and Nicholas.
Dr. Hammond received his B.S. degree with high honors from Auburn University in 1979, majoring in chemistry. He was accepted at UAB School of Dentistry after three years of college. During his senior year of dental school, Dr. Hammond was named Best All Around Male Student by the Pedodontic Department. Upon graduation from dental school in 1982, he completed a year long residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham, which included rotations in Oral Surgery and Periodontics. He received his Masters of Science in Periodontics in 1986 from Indiana University School of Dentistry. His masters thesis was entitled, Long-term Effects of Orthodontic Treatment on Periodontal Health Status. While in his residency, he published an article on Treatment of Medically Compromised Patients. Upon graduation, he returned to North Alabama and established his periodontal practice in 1986.
Dr. Hammond and his staff have continued to provide a full range of periodontal services for over twenty years. In 1993, conscious I.V. sedation was incorporated into the practice to provide increased patient safety and comfort during all procedures. Dr. Hammond and his clinical staff are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. They are examined by the Board of Dental Examiners on a regular basis to assure effectiveness and competency in management of medical emergencies should they arise.
In recent years there has been a paradigm shift in periodontics to include periodontal surgery and dental implants. The aesthetic enhancement of periodontal plastic soft tissues to improve a patients smile and complement restorative procedures can now be performed with increased predictability and comfort. Dr. Hammond has completed an intensive mini-residency in the surgical and prosthetic aspects of dental implants at the Misch International Implant Institute in Detroit, MI. He also completed intensive continuing education and is a Recognized Specialist at the renowned Kois Center in Seattle, WA. This qualifies him to participate in the planning as well as placement of dental implants.
Dr. Hammond and his staff feel state of the art technology is also an essential part of being able to provide the highest level of service. Utilizing computer assisted digital x-rays increases the diagnostic capabilities of x-rays, while decreasing radiation exposure. This practice is also one of the few in Alabama to offer in-office Cone-Beam CT scanning capabilities. This allows for immediate and accurate assessment of bone volume in preparation for safe and predictable implant therapy.
Dr. Hammond maintains a membership in the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southern Academy of Periodontology, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is an Associate Fellow of the Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Dr. Hammond is also one of the few implant dentists in Alabama to achieve Diplomate status in the American Board of Oral Implantology. He is absolutely committed to providing the exceptional, state of the art periodontal and implant therapy for which this practice has been known.
A native of Madison, AL, Dr.Rob Sotoudehniagraduated fromMadison Academyin 1999. He then received his bachelors degree in chemistry from theUniversity of Alabama-Birmingham. After graduation, Dr. Rob attended theUniversity Of Alabama School Of Dentistry, where he received hisDoctorate of Dental Medicine(DMD). During dental school, Dr. Rob worked in the Oral Surgery Department as part of their work-study program and also volunteered at theHEALS clinic, a program that offers comprehensive dental care to local elementary schools in theHuntsville area.
Dr. Rob has attended several implant courses. His knowledge of implants ranges from single-tooth restorations to fixed-denture restorations via theAll-on-4 technique. In addition, he has taken courses focused on cosmetic dentistry,Botox therapy, andSix Month Smiles.
Before joining theComplete Dental team, Dr. Nemec-Lamont completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Michigan. This residency program was very hospital-based and Dr. Nemec-Lamont gained experience treating medically compromised patients including those having received bone marrow or organ transplants, radiation therapy for head and neck cancer, and patients with physical and/or mental disabilities. She also became proficient at managing dental trauma cases and administering conscious sedation.

Great people. Friendly and fast. Got me in way ahead of schedule and Dr Gravitt took care of a tooth that had been bothering me and set me up for a follow up when I am ready. 10/10 would recommend.

I was very impressed with my experience. I'm new to the area, have zero knowledge as to who to trust. Dental work is always scary due to pain, quality of service and other unknowns. The lobby was pleasant to include the receptionist. The schedule was early. The hygienist was very easy to speak with and spot on as to any issues to discuss prior to the dentist arriving. Dr. Barry Gravitt came in to analyze my issue. I left educated about my options, very educated. He and his staff were warm and most importantly focused on your issue. So very thankful to have randomly chosen this dentistry without knowing where to go being from out of town. He is focused on educating you on your issues and very pinpoint on solution.

had 8 front teeth capped at same time. Dr. Gravity and Rachel did a great job of prepping and installing all the caps. Painless process using the latest technology. Very nice group of people there and highly recommend them. Dr. Gravity has also worked on my root canal and inplant/crown.

I had waited way too long to get a cleaning and was fearful it would be a painful experience. Even though I did require a more extensive cleaning, it was pain free, relatively quick, and my buildup is gone. I would've gone ages ago if I'd known Complete Dental would do such a phenomenal job. 100% recommend.

Listen dentists are one of my worst fears & it had been a long time. I had akready brought two relatives of mine but now it was my turn in the seat and I was very nervous at first but they made me feel very comfortable and made it a smooth process. The whole process I was asked if everything was ok and the Dr was even humming a tune and making me giggle. I would highly recommend this place to anyone . The whole staff is awesome. Now excuse me while I go pierce my tongue!!! Jk Jk
