Dr. Slack has been practicing dentistry since 2017. He graduated with a BA from Dixie State University then went to earn his doctorate degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston Massachusetts. After graduation he worked as a general dentist for four years in Oklahoma. He is excited to be back in the west desert again. Dr. Slack and his wife, Brooke, have four sons. They enjoy camping, exploring, riding bikes and watching movies together.
Dr. Slack is proud to be a general dentist and strives to treat all patients with compassion and respect. He realizes that patients often feel uneasy about coming to the dentist and wants them to feel that they have made the right choice by coming to Compass Point Dental. He hopes that his gentle and comprehensive approach will be reassuring and make future dental visits more enjoyable.
Joanna has 30 years of experience in the dental and orthodontic profession. She loves building relationships with patients and their families and strives to provide consistent positive experiences for them. She is married to her best friend and has two wonderful sons. In her off time, Joanna loves to spend time entertaining and cooking family and friends, watching sports and volunteering at her church.
Brittany has been a dental assistant for over 5 year. She has earned her AAS from Phoenix College in Dental Assisting. She strives to provide exceptional care to all her patients. She received her Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Certification from Phoenix College and enjoys continuing her education to better assist the doctors. She is a member of the dental advisory board at the college to help prepare future classes for the dental programs and the work force. Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and son, volunteering at church and cooking for her friends and family.
Mannie is new to Compass Point Dental yet certainly not new to dentistry! She has over 40 years of experience in the dental field, which makes her an EXPERT in delivering an amazing experience to all our patients. You will find that she loves building long-lasting relationships with patients and their families. She is married with 4 wonderful adult children. Outside the office, you will find Mannie volunteering at her church. Mannie is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Really nice facility. The staff was rather nice but very misleading. I was told my insurance wouldn't cover my first visit and that I would pay the initial $129.00 out of pocket and that they would "bill" my insurance for any procedure that I would possibly need. It wasn't till after paying the $129.00 and getting a treatment plan that I was now told they didn't accept my insurance at all as a matter of fact. Feel kinda robbed, paid all that money just to be told I have issues in my month that costs over $3600. Now I remember why it's been 10+ years since my last dental appt.

Best dentist in town!! We're went to numerous different offices and many refused to work with my special needs sister. Dr. Slack and Joanna were so patient with her and took it all at her own pace. We're so grateful we found them!

The staff and dentist are all right on top of things. They definitely work as a team, from the front desk, to billing, to the dental assistant to the dentist. They always put your comfort first and even offer pillows and blankets! My entire family goes here, from my granddaughter with braces, my son with special needs and myself. I always recommend!

I don't know where to start to begin to describe how incredible my experience has been with this dentist. The staff, Joanna, and Andrew are all great but Dr. Slack takes the cake. I have been to alot of dentists and have had some truly traumatic experiences but I will never go to another dentist again. Dr. Slack is compassionate (even though I am probably not the easiest patient) and takes the time to explain everything he is doing. He has even taken extra time to make sure to figure out the cause of my tooth pain even though the answer wound up taking more of his time and costing me much less. This dentist is truly cut from a different clothe and I am grateful my family has found him. If you are on the fence about your dentist or looking for a new one this office will not dissapoint.

Before coming here, I'd taken my son to 4 other dentists about a tooth that was giving him problems. They were all giving me different recommendations. Dr. Slack took the time to explain the pros and cons of each recommendation, then gave us his opinion. We decided to go with removing the tooth. Dr. Slack removed it today, and what really impressed me was how attentive he was to my son. He explained everything he was doing, was very gentle, and paid close attention to my son's body language to know when he needed to back off a little bit. We will definitely be seeing Dr. Slack for any dental needs from now on.

We have found this office filled of caring, respectful and friendly individuals on a team that attends both children and adults. It was a blessing that we found this one! We were in an urgent situation of tooth pain and they took us in a very short time frame. It was so nice to be relaxed in a dentist's office. I trust Dr. Slack and his team in providing my child the services he greatly needs. We had wonderful, cheerful and helpful Joanna who made sure we understood everything happening throughout the entire appointment. I look forward to bringing my entire family there.
