Compass Health Network

1780 Old Hwy 50 E, Union, MO 63084

Compass Health Network takes a person-centered, integrated approach to caring for our customers. This health care model focuses on treating the whole person and is a collaboration of care involving the individual customer, personal providers and, when appropriate, family members. Our efficient, effective services are enhanced by data and technology to ensure customers receive evidence-based care delivered in the right way, at the right time, and in the right place.

Compass Health Networks continuum of care extends to collaborative partnerships throughout the communities we serve. The information below explains unique programming in place to support a variety of needs.

Students in Kindergarten8th grade participate in prevention programs that provide education on critical age appropriate topics. The sessions are designed to help children develop new skills, and encourage children to make safe and healthy choices for themselves and others. Among the programs provided are: Personal Safety, Healthy Dating Relationships, Violence Prevention, Bullying & Teasing, Cyber Bullying, and a Sixth grade specific program titled Changes & Choices which covers a wide range of important topics. Prevention programs are being delivered in St. Charles, Warren, Lincoln, and Franklin county schools.

Early Intervention Services are designed to help children identified as having emerging, mild to moderate behavioral problems, school adjustments issues, or emotionally-based social problems with the goal of preventing the need for more intensive services later in adolescence.Students in Kindergarten through Third grade are screened for emerging behavioral health issues and those needing intervention meet regularly with a trained professional on behavior modification.

As a Department of Mental Health Prevention provider, our mission is to engage and empower communities to promote and support community wellness. We provide assistance by 1) conducting community assessments; identifying risk factors influencing substance use and locating resources to address those risk factors and 2) helping communities strategically plan on how best to address drug and alcohol prevention and 3) offering community training in Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, Signs of Suicide (SOS), substance use/addiction education, Tobacco Free Missouri training and more. School-based services include workshops for teacher professional development days, back to school fairs, support for prevention related activities and student prevention education training.

Audrain, Bates, Benton, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Carroll, Cedar, Chariton, Cole, Cooper, Henry, Hickory, Howard, Laclede, Morgan, Miller, Moniteau, Monroe, Montgomery, Osage, Pettis, Pike, Pulaski, Ralls, Randolph, St. Claire, Saline, and Vernon

Compass Healths Support Coordination program recognizes the importance individuals and families realizing their full potential. We provide Targeted Case Management services through a partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) Division of Developmental Disabilities for individuals of all ages in Bates, Henry and Laclede Counties.

Individuals are screened for eligibility through DMH and referred to the Support Coordination entity for the county in which they live. We work side by side with the individual and their identified network to identify and implement individualized services and supports that will increase independence, integration and inclusion in their community of choice.

The individual and/ or family is the lead member of their team in planning for future goals like fitting into a peer group at school, finishing school and going to college, obtaining competitive employment in a field of their choice or choosing a roommate that shares common interests.We assist individuals and families in planning through the lifespan and helping set in place plans so goals and dreams become reality.

The 2021 Compass Health Network Needs Assessment represents the culmination of a systematic 4-month process of reviewing the health issues and other needs present in the populations we serve, leading to agreed strategic priorities that will improve health and reduce inequities. Among the key reasons for conducting this needs assessment are:

  • Evidence-based reconnaissance, built on the assumption that some specific common needs exist among groups of patients/customers that can, and should, be proactively addressed through Compass Health Networks primary care, oral health care, and behavioral health services;
  • Future-focused strategies, anticipating change, because we recognize that neither the customer who comes through Compasss doors today, nor the needs demanding the most attention at present, necessarily represent the long-term health needs or emerging health improvement opportunities in the communities we serve; and
  • Meeting accreditation standards, such as those put forth by CARF, which demand that we have a systematic ongoing process for surveying needs, listening to the voices of stakeholders, and weaving that information into our strategic planning process.

    In 2019 I had great experience here. Recently I arrived for 2 appointments wasting my time. Once the dentist wasn't there but I got no cancelation. The next time they were willing to complete part of my appointment. The staff seemed at a loss and the dentist herself was very belligerent to say the least. I had scheduled my appointment 6 weeks out and got nothing done. Don't even trust her credentials at this point. This is from someone with a mouth full of dental work. Go to a different clinic for your own safety and mental health. Very unusual experience to say the least. I was so frustrated that I phoned my sister to vent. Just so happen the she took off work to take her boyfriend for an extraction and upon arrival was told the dentist was stuck in traffic. Happen to be the same place and the same dentist.

    My daughter has braces. They refuse to cut the wire. Now she either has to have root canal or her tooth extracted. Thanks Compass...

    They told me that I needed to have all my teeth removed because I have one loose tooth so I went to, two different denture places to be fitted for dentures and both places told me that it was absolutely nuts you never remove your teeth prematurely keep them as long as possible. Seems to me they are out for the money as opposed to the patient's best interest.

    Dr. Blake Cavender is so wonderful! He was the dentist I had and did an amazing job. Usually getting a tooth extraction, it takes forever to numb and is still a bit painful. He made sure I was numb and not feel a thing! He takes pride in his job and you can tell he loves doing what he does! He was so nice and gave me info to get adult dental help!!! Highly recommend him!
