Dr. Woods is originally from the Chapel Hill area and grew up on a farm with her parents, five siblings, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She completed two undergraduate degrees before going on to dental school: an associate of applied science in dental hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from North Carolina Central University. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.
She is always striving to learn and describes herself as a continuing education junky in her beloved profession, working to stay on top of the latest techniques and developments to keep her patients healthy. She has also completed a mini residency for implant surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in 2005 and became a master of the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006, which requires dentists to complete 1100 hours of continuing education and pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
Dr. Woods has been practicing dentistry in the area for over 30 years, originally starting as an associate doctor at an office in Charlotte before opening her private practice in her hometown on April 19, 1993. Her goal at our office is to educate patients and provide personalized, quality comprehensive dental care to all ages. With her comprehensive dental knowledge and experienced team, Dr. Woods is prepared to solve the most complex dental problems, all while keeping her patients comfortable and relaxed. She is proud to help save our patients time and money by delivering all their care under one roof without having to refer them out all over town.

Great service!!! Had my bitewing xrays and routine cleaning done today ... Was in and out in about an hour. As usual, Dr. Woods and the staff were very pleasant.

Dentists have a high rate of suicide, only second to veterinarians. I like this dentist a lot. I am glad she is not a veterinarian dentist. Thank you for my smile.

As in every one my visits over the two decades or so, I received excellent treatment with no discomfort. Dr Woods is by far the best dentist I've ever had in my life. Visited again today. After dozens of visits for routine cleaning or more serious remedial work, she remains gentle, thorough, and friendly on every visit. I feel valued by each member of her staff. Every business should be run like her office.

Community Smiles and Dr. Woods has been my dentist for almost 10 years and I wouldn't think any other dentist to go to other than them. Always very nice and caring while making sure you get the best in dental care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I've had anxiety about going to the dentist. Everyone that I've gone to has had issues with dealing with anxiety but this one made me feel comfortable and was super nice went out of there to make sure I was ok and that I wasn't an any pain

Many of my residents visit Community Smiles and have a wonderful experience. The time can't fit me to get work done and I love not only the service I received, but I also love the atmosphere! Extremely pleased with my new dentist and the restoration she's provided for my teeth/smile! They look amazing

They are very friendly and I was a little nervous and the lady at the front desk started to get my mind off of it trying to make me feel better about it she did an amazing job. The dentist assistant he was amazing he keep checking on me and when i didn't know what was going to happen he was she not going to let you stay in pain so he started getting me prepared for an extraction. Then the dentist she was amazing she talked to me about everything that I needed done and kept my best interest in mind I would definitely tell people to go here
