Dr. Alonso has been practicingdentistry in San Diego since 1991 and has had his private practice in Poway since 2003. He graduated from the University of Dentistry in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1984. In his free time Dr. Alonso enjoys spending time with his family. His favorite hobbies include playing tennis, soccer and enjoying nature.

For some reason, office is terrible. Doctor is OK. They told me that my crowns need approval from the insurance. They submitted and weeks passed. I went to office, they said it is still pending. Called insurance, no approval needed and but their submitted approval is OK'ed days ago. They didnt wanna take me as a patient for some reason, but they should have told me instead of wasting my time.

This is my favorite Dentist, and staff, of any dentist ever! No complaints at all. Found via insurance, but will never switch, insurance or not!! 4 years later 2021: still wonderful!!

I am so happy to have been referred to Dr. Julio H. Alonso, DDS, he is by far the best dentist I have had, he is knowledgeable, kind and the entire staff are the greatest. I highly recommend this office.

Honestly there are not enough words to say about how unique this place is. Dentistry is not often something you look forward to but having a dentist and staff that you can trust is really something special. They go above and beyond to make sure you are cared for which truly means a lot to us. Our whole family has been going here for years and we are grateful for all they've done for us.

Dr. Alonso is the best dentist! I recently had a cavity that needed to be filled (I live in San Antonio now) and the dentist commented on how secure the adjacent tooth's root canal and crown are and mentioned that it is probably the best work he's ever seen. More importantly, unless I suspect a cavity (like the paragraph above), I still only go to Dr. Alonso for my biannual cleaning and checkup when we visit our families back in San Diego. I'd recommend him and his wonderful staff to anyone without reservation.

Excellent Staff, super clean and professional! Great dentistry focused on taking care of your dental and health needs...you won't get the awful "up-selling" for unnecessary dental care here! Hard to find in San Diego!

Dr. Alonzo and his staff are the absolute best! I have been a patient for over 15 years and highly recommend this office for all your dental needs. Everyone is kind and courteous and they do an exceptional job to keep my teeth clean and healthy. If you're looking for a new dentist, look no further than Dr. Alonzo!

I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Dr. Julio Alonso and his staff for dental care. I had an abscess and needed a tooth extracted, Dr. Alonso provided excellent care. I also have several autoimmune diseases which prevent my healing as quickly, and as well, as most patients. Previously, when I have encountered such difficulties, I have been referred out to other dental and/or surgical specialists. However, Dr. Alonso and his staff provided excellent care and took extra steps to ensure that my health was not compromised. Dr. Alonso and his staff are very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, caring, and friendly. I am very appreciative of their skills, support, and care.
