Community Dental provides accessible and affordable oral health care services to strengthen the community and help our patients build healthier lives. We focus on oral health education and disease prevention through preventive services, also offering restorative and emergency oral care to those in need. Our veteran staff of dedicated dentists and hygienists see over 16,000 patients of all ages each year, with the strong conviction that every child, adult and senior deserves the opportunity to experience quality, comprehensive dental care throughout their lives. We serve Southern and Central Maine, as well as The Western Foothills; our dental centers are located in Portland, Biddeford, Lewiston, Rumford, and Farmington.
On their 52nd anniversary, the Children's Dental Clinic became known as the Center for Community Dental Health and expanded their scope of service to include the whole family; children, parents, and grandparents. The organization continued to expand, opening locations in other areas within southern Maine, reaching up to the Western Foothills and central Maine before changing their name to Community Dental in 2003. 100 years since that small office on High street, Community Dental has become one of the most comprehensive non profit dental organization in the country. Constantly expanding the services we offer to the community, Community Dental is a five-center, state-of-the-art, oral health care organization. True to our mission, we have provided quality, comprehensive dental care to generations of smiling families.
Dr. Genko Stanilov, Dental DirectorDr. Stanilov has been in Maine for the better part of a decade, with degrees from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, and the Sofia School of Dental Medicine in his home country of Bulgaria. He completed his residency at the Montefiore Hospital, through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Stanilov enjoys playing squash, running, and vintage motorcycles. Community Dental is the clear reason why I dedicated myself to dentistry, meeting and helping people from so many different cultures and social backgrounds I am glad that I can contribute.
Dr. Meghann DombroskiDr. Dombroski is a Maine native who has been practicing dentistry for almost a decade. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, completing her residency in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics, and obtained her Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. After 11 years of school, Dr. Dombroski and her husband moved back to Maine to raise their family, where they love to adventure and explore our beautiful state, as well as travel abroad.
Dr. Mattie ParadiseDr. Paradise is a Maine native, returning home to complete her dental residency with Community Dental through Tufts University School of Dental Medicines AEGD program. She graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, excited for her entry into the world of oral health. Dr. Paradise is an avid beach-goer, enjoys a nice tee time and studying the finer points of oenology.
Dr. Laura Callan Dr. Callan grew up in San Diego, California and moved to Boston where she attended Boston University for Bachelors in Human Anatomy and Masters in Oral Health Sciences. She graduated from Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2020 and moved to Portland, Maine. After completing her AEGD residency through Tufts University, she began working for Community Dental. Dr. Callan enjoys the beach, exploring Maine hiking trails, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Tooth extraction was smooth and easy. They did have a little glitch but its probably just in my head.

Not professionals. It was like the actual dentist quit and they had to fulfill appointments so they handed a receptionist a drill and sent her to work. All in all, these people legitimized my fear of dentists and now I can't go back to get the rest of the work done. For a person with anxiety about dentists and doctors, Doctor Danko was amazing. First dentist I ever had that was able to make me comfortable and relaxed. Then they lost her and I got left with the replacement and her assistant that basically butchered me for about an hour with unsuccessful numbing injections, excessive pressure, non stop air, way to much drilling and audibly cringing and generally sounding unsure and incompetent throughout her work. She also made sure to dodge accountability for her mistakes and actually try to make me feel guilty. I was there to have a filling done and they managed to escalate it to a situation that required a temporary cap, a crown and then would have to get a root canal eventually to save the tooth. To which I replied, forget that, I'd rather just extract it. She seemed very relieved that I was ok with losing the tooth but had she not botched a simple filling in order to upsell me to a long string of unnecessary procedures, my tooth would be fine. Don't go here if you can help it.

Litterly the worst dentist office in Maine. I had an appointment and when I got there the whole place was empty and locked up. Yes I confirmed the date and everything, me and my dad called multiple times but no one picked up. I'm in high school, I have work to do I missed a whole class just for the place to be empty I'm a busy person and don't have time to waste on this kinda stuff. My grade is already suffering cuz of this. Do better.

Don't even say you offer emergency services when you won't even treat the patient when they come in. You go in and wait and they don't even guarantee you'll even be seen at all, and if you do get seen they'll just do a exam and maybe make you a appointment to actually take care of your problem. And the appointment will most likely be weeks or months out. Again, don't say you offer emergency services when you won't even treat them same day.

This is booked out to March 2023 if you coming from a long distance don't wast your time you can sit in there waiting room and not be seen again if your new there they won't even make an appointment with you with out your dental records and that can take up to 3 months before it goes through there presses

Super quick tooth removal and even helped me get paperwork to send to another dental office that can take out my wisdoms under anesthesia. Staff was extremely nice and treated me like an actual patient even though I was an emergency walk in.

Greatly appreciate the team and dental professionals at community dental in Lewiston Maine , my friend was in severe tooth pain to the point the infection was starting to go up the side of his face thankfully the team at community dental were able to make sure that he was well taken care of

I am really upset with the person who I brought my paper work to them that person told me that they go with by your income I was on B I would have to pay 40 dollars when I called him and he told me a different story he said it would cost a different story he said it would cost me 138$ I don't think he was nice at all he stated to me that I was not telling the truth and he is the one who told me it was be 40$ if he would of told me the 1st time it would cost 138$ then I would have no problem but he said 40$ yes I am mad I don't like people saying i never said that when the did I am very upset with Community dental in Lewiston

Today I saw Dr Gold and he was amazing. Everyone at this practice is so kind, respectful and takes great care of their patients! I also saw the other dentist for my first appt and he was also awesome! The girls are wonderful as well!!! Thank you all for everything you do especially during covid when it's hard to find the dental help you need!

Amazing with compassion. I appreciated all sympathy,comfort. Dr. Gold and assistant Tina,truly are compassionate on a genuine level whilst providing a soothing and safe environment. Also, they both took that extra needed effort to ensure I was continually comfortable and offered confidence that I was doing great. Aurora and Frankee offer that sensitivity that most of us desire when in discomfort, thank you for a much appreciated and clean atmosphere.

Very kind. Great staff. I had a dental emergency and went in at 8 to see if they could look at it. They brought me in for an x-ray and scheduled an appointment to have it taken care of the very next day!!!

I got a deep cleaning done with Tamera and she has always made sure that I was comfortable, she' is super friendly and makes the cleanings go by quicker with minimal pain! I recommend her to anyone who needs a new dental hygienist.

!!!!!Does not take COVID precaution seriously !!!! After recently getting full custody after a long battle with my sons father in court I called to make appointment and I guess his dad had missed many appointments so they would not schedule something but after speaking to a higher up they let me the day of said appointment I called to inform them that I had woke up with COVID symptoms and they refused to let me re schedule appointment so clearly safety of staff or patients is not a priority so I will be taking my son anyway or I will not be allowed back there due to his fathers negligence also the lady was very rude when I had clearly explained to her the situation this place has no professionalism and they are negligent And FYI I myself have never missed an appointment and my two girls also go here and never missed any appointment but I will be finding new dentists even if I have to travel I just feel bad for people who do not have that option
