Community Dental provides accessible and affordable oral health care services to strengthen the community and help our patients build healthier lives. We focus on oral health education and disease prevention through preventive services, also offering restorative and emergency oral care to those in need. Our veteran staff of dedicated dentists and hygienists see over 16,000 patients of all ages each year, with the strong conviction that every child, adult and senior deserves the opportunity to experience quality, comprehensive dental care throughout their lives. We serve Southern and Central Maine, as well as The Western Foothills; our dental centers are located in Portland, Biddeford, Lewiston, Rumford, and Farmington.
On their 52nd anniversary, the Children's Dental Clinic became known as the Center for Community Dental Health and expanded their scope of service to include the whole family; children, parents, and grandparents. The organization continued to expand, opening locations in other areas within southern Maine, reaching up to the Western Foothills and central Maine before changing their name to Community Dental in 2003. 100 years since that small office on High street, Community Dental has become one of the most comprehensive non profit dental organization in the country. Constantly expanding the services we offer to the community, Community Dental is a five-center, state-of-the-art, oral health care organization. True to our mission, we have provided quality, comprehensive dental care to generations of smiling families.
Dr. Genko Stanilov, Dental DirectorDr. Stanilov has been in Maine for the better part of a decade, with degrees from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, and the Sofia School of Dental Medicine in his home country of Bulgaria. He completed his residency at the Montefiore Hospital, through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Stanilov enjoys playing squash, running, and vintage motorcycles. Community Dental is the clear reason why I dedicated myself to dentistry, meeting and helping people from so many different cultures and social backgrounds I am glad that I can contribute.
Dr. Meghann DombroskiDr. Dombroski is a Maine native who has been practicing dentistry for almost a decade. She graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, completing her residency in Orthodontics and Craniofacial Orthopedics, and obtained her Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. After 11 years of school, Dr. Dombroski and her husband moved back to Maine to raise their family, where they love to adventure and explore our beautiful state, as well as travel abroad.
Dr. Mattie ParadiseDr. Paradise is a Maine native, returning home to complete her dental residency with Community Dental through Tufts University School of Dental Medicines AEGD program. She graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, excited for her entry into the world of oral health. Dr. Paradise is an avid beach-goer, enjoys a nice tee time and studying the finer points of oenology.
Dr. Laura Callan Dr. Callan grew up in San Diego, California and moved to Boston where she attended Boston University for Bachelors in Human Anatomy and Masters in Oral Health Sciences. She graduated from Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2020 and moved to Portland, Maine. After completing her AEGD residency through Tufts University, she began working for Community Dental. Dr. Callan enjoys the beach, exploring Maine hiking trails, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Dr. Paradise and whole team are amazing. Even without insurance this place is very reasonable. I would go to this clinic over many other private practices.

I brought my 2.5 year old daughter here and we had a wonderful experience! The receptionist was kind on the phone and in person, and the hygienist and dentist made my child feel comfortable and she had a great time! I highly recommend Community Dental.

I had a broken tooth and needed it repaired before I lost it. I had to wait for endodontics to do a root canal. The dentist said "once the root canal is done call us and we'll get you right in for the post and crown." Endodontics did a great job. Once it was done I went in to community dental in person to set up the appointment as instructed. The dentist was right there and the receptionist said they were not scheduling. I repeated the instructions I got from Dr Callan and she refused to schedule without any explanation. I've called since and haven't heard back from them. Endodontist said if it was not done soon my tooth would break. It's been since 9/19/22 now it's 10/

The dentist and dental hygienist were awesome and that's why I gave three stars. The receptionist was so rude. I didn't get her name, she's a bit older, a little heavy set and she is rotten. Really gives off racist vibes, she was complaining openly that a patient wanted two translators. Not everyone speaks English, and the dentist makes some people nervous. Have some compassion. Working with them outside of the office is really difficult.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place and the staff that I interacted with. My son is special needs at 38 years old. He would not let them anywhere near his mouth. They were so kind and compassionate and set up a plan to have him sedated at a local hospital at a future date. There were willing to try though before they got to that point. Both Sara and Dr Stanilov receive nothing but very high marks from me.

Dr. Hadar is absolutely the best. He cares a lot about your overall oral health and follows up that all of your questions have been answered. Technically gifted and hard working, he will go above and beyond to make sure that your outcome will be as great as possible.

I had an outstanding experience. I usually fear the pain that it comes from the dental procedures and don't like going to the dentist at all. Dr. Hadar was very attentive to my concerns, explained everything in details and called to follow up. Absolutely recommend!

SO strange seeing some low reviews because I've been bringing my children here for the past 3yrs and am so grateful for them! They are so attentive to the kids, especially my youngest and her dental fears. I've only had wonderful experiences even from the receptionists. We love them over at Community Dental!

The only reason why I pushed a Star to leave a comment I have never called anywhere and have been treated that rude in all my life If this is what Maine calls dentistry I'm better off going to live in Haiti If you have an abscess tooth don't bother calling there they shouldn't even have a license to practice dentistry Third World countries have better and nicer people than the state of Maine

My experience starts with the "office manager" Cindy,putting me on hold and leaving me on hold for 14 minutes because she was the only receptionist in the office today,instead of requesting I call back or a different alternative,she left me on hold.When she returned to my call she informed me first that I didn't have an appt. I informed her that I had an appt.card from that office that read I did have an appt. and that appt. was for 9 am,once again the appt. card,that she herself wrote and gave me,read my appt. was for 9 am and she told me the appt. was at 8 am that I was given a wrong time! I asked what kind of establishment they were running there,then when I voiced my discontentment for her leaving me on hold for 14 minutes,I was met with "under the breath" giggling like a school girl. I expressed to her that I considered it rude and unprofessional and her response was to become argumentative with a request to call me later in the day and I agreed,which was just a ploy to terminate the call

Worth switching to community dental. I've been going to them for the past 2 years. They are a very friendly staff and they are straight up with me of what needs to get done and they're prices are way lower compared to the place I used to go before.

They are hard to reach by phone because they are very short staffed in the office. I have been there several times now & the dental care was always professional. I recommend them. Just be patient & if you don't get a call back then call again.
