I normally don't like the write negative reviews unless something goes terribly wrong. Unfortunately, something did. The terrible experience started from the point we made an appointment. We went to make an appointment for my sister and we had to make three different ones. This happened because every time we called to make an appointment, we got a notification with a different date. Whenever my mother would call them back about this, they would claim she was lying and berate her for no reason. The actual day of the first appointment was pretty pointless. We had told them that we took x-rays two different times but when we came, they said they were going to take an x-ray. They never explained this before so we essentially came for an unnecessary meet and greet with Dr. Spampata and the staff. During this meeting, however, the doctor claimed he would contact the orthodontist to tell him the date of the surgery and get all necessary information. He never made that call. The worst part of this experience was the actual surgery. The front desk employee was terse and we waited about 10 minutes after the surgery just so we can get the after procedure information. The kicker of all of this is during the procedure, Dr. Spampata forgot to take out four teeth for extractions and we only realized just seconds before a staff member was about to take me off the machine. I still had gauze in my mouth and there wasn't any way of checking at this point but my mom asked to confirm all eight were removed. Again, they were not, yet Dr. Spampata proceeded to yell at my mother. There are really no words for how frustrating it was to have someone, a medical professional at that, yell at my mother for their own mistake. I'm really not sure why he did this and I am incredibly disappointed in the doctor for this behavior. We never got an apology from anyone on the team for the mistake or their behavior. I have tried very hard to look at this from their perspective and make sense of this all, however, I cannot find a reasonable answer for why this was justified. I don't know if anyone will end up seeing this but please consider a different oral surgeon and a different business than Commonwealth for your procedures. My sister ended up going to a different physician in this area and had a smooth operation and met an incredibly professional and competent doctor. There are other options in this area. Even if all of them are full, my family would have been willing to travel hours ago for a surgery then endure this again.

I'm very afraid of dentist, so scared of needles of any kind, yes I cry, however Dr Spampata and his assistant, are the best. He has a great chair side manner, and both showed so much compassion for me and my fears. The front desk and everyone there are great. I would highly recommend this office. He promised I wouldn't feel a thing (except the needle) and was true to his word. Even needed stitches, that also was painless. For me, they rock, and I would go back if needed.

Had my wisdom teeth removed here yesterday that I was super nervous about, but it was a very fast and easy process. They gave me all of the right preparations to ensure it went smoothly, and recovery has been going well so far, too!

Surgery April 15th in the Plymouth Meeting office. Nurse was short with me, not rude but not pleasant. She hooks my oxygen around my ears, neck and down my back. She proceeds to drop on it, or rips my head to the left and strangles me. My septum is still hurting as well as my neck. She didn't apologize. Later, doctor hooks up the IV to my hand. Same nurse hooks up to the OV pole, trips again, almost rips the IV out of my hand, sends the IV pole careening into the side of my face. I was put under within 60 seconds and woke up. Surgery was great. My doctor was impeccable and kind, he is my favorite! Had I had this surgery at Quakertown or Harleysville this wouldn't have happened. Their staff is amazing, kind and generous. The Plymouth Meeting staff needs retraining on bedside manner, and clumsiness. For patients who are scared and nervous, they should be comforting and understanding. 5 stars for the doctor, 0 stars for the nurse. Picture shows IV pole in the background and mark under my eye where I was hit.**** Sorry about my face I JUST woke up from anesthesia. Lol.

Dr. Hersh has extracted both my kids wisdom teeth without a hitch. Me, personally, have had four oral surgeries with him in two years (last one was today) by going through the LONG process of getting upper and lower implants for a total of eight new permanent teeth. He treated me with top priority to give me the best results after a glitch that came from the lab making my porcelain teeth. Dr. Hersh, my dentist, Dr. Nase and the lab tech all coordinated to give me top priority for best results possible. Can't say enough wonderful things about this group! Highly, highly recommended!!
