Dr. Cooksey grew up in southeast Texas where he received his undergraduate degree from Lamar University. After a brief career in the pharmaceutical industry Dr. Cooksey decided to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Cooksey attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he graduated at the top of his class with honors. During his time at UTHSCSA, Dr. Cooksey was fortunate to be awarded the Horace Wells Student Award from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. All aspects of dentistry interest Dr. Cooksey and he enjoys providing quality, comprehensive care to patients in the Texas hill country.

I have an emergency tooth matter and look for a dentist closer to my home. I take a chance to go there because is in my insurance network. It was a very nice experience, all the personnel are so welcoming people and the Doctor is great. The ambience and the place is so nice and neat. I recommend it.

My teeth cleaning was easy and professional. The hygienist worked with when taking my x-rays. I tend to gag during that process but she helped to focus else where. It helped a lot.

I can't thank Donna and the Comal Hills Dental enough for the fabulous job they do in caring for their patients. While Donna gave me the whitest cleaning I have experienced, she questioned me about my oral hygiene care. She educated me about the differences in mouth washes to how to select the best toothpaste for my particular dental hygiene needs. When she finished, I had a world class education in oral care and the whitest teeth around. (I had to put on my sun shades to see my teeth!) It is obvious that Donna loves her job, cares about her patients, and knows her business well. Thank you Donna and Comal Hills Dental for the wonderful experience. Bravo to you all from the doctors who run it to the receptionists and to the Hygienists who work there!!!

Office staff (DonnaJo) goes above and beyond for the patient. I was immediately at ease. Dr. Edmundson and Melissa worked seamlessly and professionally to see to my needs throughout the two plus hour procedure. Discomfort was managed above my expectations and I am confident that part two of this procedure will go well in a month from now. I will recommend this professional service to any of my friends seeking orthodontist care. I will also insist that they are a preferred consultant for my regular dental office. Well done team.

Appears I made a great decision in choosing a needed dentist in the Spring Branch area. Being new to the area, the only reliable recommendations came i as "word of mouth". A recent cleaning went smoothly with little to none discomfort while enjoying the directions and conversation of the hygienist. The subsequent exam by the dentist made one feel confident in the service and advice given. Have already scheduled a f/u cleaning/exam in the future. Options were discussed before a procedure was chosen. Costs of each option were given. Once the procedure was chosen, it was executed with skill. Communication on major steps and progress was explained.

Enjoy having my Dentist and Periodontist in the same office. Both Dr Cooksey and Ponsford are very good at what they do, and the techs and front office staff are friendly and eager to help. I'm impressed with them both!!
