Born in Marion, Ohio, Dr. Dixon has stayed close to home for most of his life, ultimately establishing his practice, Columbus Family Dental Care - a place of exceptional comfort and quality, a different kind of dental practice. Dr. Dixon and his team are committed to excellence and will strive to provide you with the best possible dental care in a relaxed and caring environment. His goal is to help you have a healthy, beautiful smile that makes you look and feel great.
Dr. Dixon graduated from Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, with a B.A. degree in Chemistry in 1983. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1987. After his graduation, he continued at Ohio State as a clinical instructor in the department of restorative and prosthetic dentistry until 1992. At the same time, he was practicing as an associate in a nearby private practice until he opened his own dental practice, Columbus Family Dental Care, in 1989.
In 2012, Dr. Dixon traveled to Cambodia for a mission trip with a group of dentists, oral surgeons, and support personnel from the Free to Smile Foundation, a local not-for-profit corporation whose members appreciate their blessings and wish to share their gifts with those who need it most impoverished children in under-developed countries.
Dr. Dixon is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Columbus Dental Society. He is also a life member of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry Alumni Association and Delta Tau Delta, his undergraduate fraternity. Dr. Dixon is married to Patty and they have two children. He enjoys golf, fishing, hiking, reading and travel. He also loves scuba diving, fly fishing, and on October 18, 2015 he ran his first (and last) marathon.
Sam has been in the dental field since 2006, starting out as a dental assistant. As our office manager, she coordinates our daily business operations, oversees patient treatment planning, and handles all insurance and financial matters. Sam and her husband have two children and together they enjoy being active outdoors, coaching travel sports, and mostly keeping up with the kids' busy schedule.
In the dental field for nearly as long as Dr. Dixon, Sandy loves working with all different types of patients, from kids to seniors, and helping them all attain good oral health. A graduate of The Ohio State University, she is known for her great chairside manner. Sandy and her husband have a son who is attending college at Bowling Green State University. She is an award-winning scrap-booker and really loves NASCAR.
Born and raised in Ashtabula, and in the dental field since 2015, Nikki assists Dr. Dixon and enjoys meeting and getting to know our patients. Raising three kids takes most of her free time. Since 2006, Sgt. Nikki has served in the Army and is now in the reserves. She will once again be deploying overseas in December. Nikki loves cooking, spending time outdoors with friends and family, and being a cheer mom.
In the dental field since 2015 and with our office since 2017, Amber will likely be the first person your meet when visiting our office. She assists the doctor with most procedures and handles many of the front desk duties as well. Recently married to Josh, Amber loves being a mom to her two girls, and newborn baby boy!
Richelle is returning to our office after an absence of a few years and will be assisting Dr. Dixon in all areas of treatment. Richelle has three sons, two of which are in college. She enjoys being outdoors, especially at her family's Lake Erie vacation home.

Columbus dental Holt rd is by far the best dentist in Columbus Ohio hands down what took me 2 years to get done Dr Dixon had done in a week and half it's been a little over 2 weeks now and I'm eating food again and I can wear my dentures 8-10 hrs a day with out hurting so I highly recommend Columbus dental and there staff is awesome people Thank You again Dr David Dixon

My family and I have been going to Dr. Dixon and his staff for several years. Sandy is a great dental hygienist and Dr. Dixon is always fair with your treatment and doesn't drill to make money: if you don't need it he won't do it. Efficient, pleasant, and patient friendly place.

Dr. Dixon and the staff are amazing! Been going to this office for over a year for fillings, cleanings, and Invisalign treatment and couldn't be happier with my results. They're efficient, friendly, and want to help their clients look and feel their best.

I truly don't want to ever be in a position to lose Dr. Dixon as my Dentist. He knows what he is doing, and he truly cares about what's going on with your day and life as whole. I enjoy going every visit, and wish he was my doctor for all other aspects of my life. He also hit it on the head hiring Samantha as the face of the practice when you walk in and leave. The entire practice genuinely cares about you. If you're looking for a genuine dental practice, you've found it. I love coming here for my teeth cleaning and am always greeted with a warm and friendly smile! The office is impeccably clean and very modern, and the staff is always so accommodating. I also love that Dr. Dixon created a "No Cavities Club" wall of fame for little kids which is fun to look at and see all the kids smiling in their photo showing off their teeth! :) I've never had an unpleasant visit and highly recommend Dr. Dixon to anyone seeking dental care!

Wonderful practice! Dr. Dixon and his staff are consistently thorough, kind and professional during every appointment. For someone who currently has a full set of adult braces, they make getting my teeth examined and cleaned extremely simple and I feel so much better after the appointment is over. I look forward to each visit because I know they are knowledgeable enough to treat me with the very best care!

I was charged 93$ for a xray that they couldn't use for a procedure they can't perform. They had talked with me enough to no this, but they took xray anyway .
