Welcome to the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, a private dental school established at Columbia University in 1916, with roots dating back to 1852. Leveraging our position within a world-class academic medical center at an Ivy League university, we advance dentistrys practice, teaching, and scientific research.

One of our founders, William J. Gies, PhD, asserted that because oral health is inextricably linked to overall health, dental medicine is best taught within an academic medical setting. His words transformed our field, and their full expression is one of the colleges defining features today. In our classrooms, DDS students spend their pre-clinical years studying alongside medical students. In our clinical settings, scientific research and new technologies enhance care. In our laboratories, we advance the frontiers of science, often with students working under the mentorship of renowned research faculty.

I really can't recommend. 2.7 review kinda tells it all. I went to get my tooth pulled and ended up paying $230 for a 10min apt and single tooth X-ray. they referred me to another department where they are booked out until next year. I ended up filling a complaint with NYC.gov

I came in to be assessed for oral surgery and was initially told that if my face wasn't visually swollen and there was no infection, they couldn't help me right away. Next appt was two weeks away. Then she suggested I go to the emergency dept. to see if that can get me in sooner. I did that and waited 3 hours for a PA to scan my mouth for 10 seconds. After that I went back w my discharge paperwork and was x-rayed and told that I would benefit greatly from a second x-ray but that it would cost $400, plus a separate fee in the hundreds if I wanted to be sedated for my procedure. If you have Medicaid I suggest you run FAR from this place. You will either risk having your nerves damaged or come out pocket almost $1k. Oh and attending doc suggested breaking half the tooth instead as a way to go around the $400 fee truly laughable. Also state of facilities at Columbia is at a -5. Patients in the ER can be seen filling their needles and entering the bathroom to shoot up.. nothing against people who suffer from substance abuse issues but the standard of excellence at NYP is nonexistent. Security yelling at patients. Truly a nightmare

Got my wisdom tooth pulled out. My appointment from start to finish was exceptional! Although I was nervous at first they made me feel welcomed and at ease. The xray was easy and PAIN FREE and not at all unpleasant. The tooth extraction itself was very quick. Highly recommend this place!

I have been going to Columbia for the passed two years and I find that my problem has gotten worse by their ways of handling my problem. I fist need one of my front tooth remove and get an implant but this is taking for ever. Under their treatment I got a root canal done recently I asked them how come I need a root canal if I have been coming here to see you constantly why the surprise of this. No answer from them. Right now all of my teeth are hurting I told them two weeks ago about this. No answer And how much am I really saving ??? I with all of the appointments I better move on and seeking a private practice that can really help me. I went to patients advocate they only took my information and that was it. I recommend anyone not to go to Columbia dental

Work that needs to be handled immediately is not addressed giving more time for dental issue to progress
