Dr. Hatch is passionate about caring for his patients. When founding Columbia River Endodontics, he chose for the practice mottoAt Your Service, which he strives to emulate every day by treating each patient with kindness, compassion, and skill.

After graduation from Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Hatch went on active duty in the US Army Dental Corps and completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. It was an amazing training program with a lot of one-on-one instruction from specialists in most of the dental specialties. In 2005, he began a Residency in Endodontics at the US Army program at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Dr. Hatch also trained frequently with the endodontic department at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia. After serving as the Chief Endodontist for three years in Baumholder Germany, Dr. Hatch was happy to settle down in the Tri-Cities with his wife and four children. They are grateful to be here in the Eastern Washington near family and friends and make this their permanent home.

Dr. Hatch is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the Benton-Franklin Dental Society (BFDS), for which he has served as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. He is also Board Certified with the American Board of Endodontics (ABE).

Striving to remain at the forefront of Endodontic advances, Dr. Hatch enjoys regularly participating in Dental Continuing Education on both a local and national level. Dr. Hatch is the author of several published dental articles and has lectured internationally on various topics relating to endodontics. His ability to speak Spanish and Portuguese also comes in handy when treating patients of various backgrounds.

When away from the office, Dr. Hatch is active in the community and regularly serves in his church. His biggest hobby is spending time with his wife Alissa and their five children. After a busy day at work, its nice to go home and hang out with my family to relax and recharge my batteries, he says. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing and training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The Columbia Basin is such a beautiful part of the country, which makes it easy to want to spend time outside whenever possible, says Dr. Hatch.

Dr. Dawson is a highly skilled endodontist who emphasizes compassionate care for his patients. He treats each patient with respect and kindness and has a natural ability to make them feel comfortable and at ease.

After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry Dr. Dawson completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry with the US Army. He then had the distinct opportunity to deploy to Iraq as a General Dentist where he was able to treat soldiers and civilians in a somber, yet rewarding environment.

Dr. Dawson completed his two-year Endodontics residency in Fort Gordon, Georgia in 2007 and went on to serve three years as Chief of Endodontics in Heidelberg Germany. In 2010 he returned to the United States and served as Chief of Endodontic in Fort Carson, Colorado up until joining Columbia River Endodontics in June 2014. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. Dr. Dawson is grateful for the opportunity to live all over the world but is happy to return to the Northwest as he is originally from Idaho. He and his wife Kristi have four talented children and are excited to now call the Tri-Cities home.

In his off time, Dr. Dawson can be found enjoying various sports and the outdoors. He particularly enjoys playing golf and basketball. As a family, they enjoy snow skiing and spending time fishing, boating, and water sports.

After graduating from University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2008 Dr. Schafer completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the US Army at Fort Lewis, Washington. In 2012 Dr. Schafer graduated from the Endodontic Residency at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Following the residency Dr. Schafer served as the sole Army endodontist in Italy providing quality care both locally and to outlying military dental clinics in the Italian region. While stationed overseas Dr. Schafer worked with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose and treat complex cases involving trauma and oral pathology. Dr. Schafer also served as the endodontic mentor to general dentists and helped train Red Cross volunteers.

A huge thank you to Dr. Swanson and Sheila for being so kind yesterday when I came in in terrible pain, they quickly got me all fixed up and after weeks of being in horrible pain I feel amazing today! Also, a huge thank you to the gentleman that pushed his appt to today so that they could fit me in yesterday. If I could give more than 5 stars I would in a heartbeat :)

This place has an amazing team. The office is welcoming, clean and well decorated. The staff is easy to get ahold of, prompt with answering/returning calls, extremely friendly, professional and communicative. As far as the procedure went, I felt more comfortable getting a root canal than I ever thought I could; everything went seamlessly. Throughout the entire procedure, it was easy to relax because I had complete confidence that I would be taken care of. Afterward, I was given very clear aftercare instructions, shown my 'after' x-ray (very precise work by Dr. Schafer!) and given the doctor's cell just in case things went south over the weekend. Considering that I had my work done on a Friday, this put me at ease. I also want to give a shout out to Adrea (sp?) for being so amicable and fun to chat with. She set me up to feel comfortable and right at home. I would 10/10 recommend their services, no doubt. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you so much to the team at Columbia River Endodontics!

The doctor and staff were amazing. I needed an emergency root canal and they got me in an hour later. They did an awesome job of telling me everything that was goin to happen and making me comfortable as this was a first time experience for me. I will definitely recommend!

This place is amazing. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I recently had a root canal there, and we all know how much fun those are, but they made the experience a positive one. Everything went smoothly and I never felt any pain or discomfort. Hopefully I never have to go through this again, but if I do (knocks on wood) I know where to go.

This clinic made me feel so comfortable. I get high anxiety at dental clinics but everyone is so friendly & assuring that they would make my root canal a "gentle" one. I saw Dr. Schafer and he is very knowledgeable and explained what he saw & how he could help me. The assistant Mari was so friendly and even offered to play whatever music I wanted to listen to as well as something to drink while I waited. She assured me I was in great hands and I truly believe I was! This is the place to go if you need a root canal. Thank you so much Dr. Schafer
