His patients keep coming back (some for almost 20 years!) not only because hes one of the top dentists in the Portland area, but because hes a genuine friend to everyone that walks through the door. Its easy to see he cares about more than just your smile, he wants the best for every patient.
Dr. Dustin received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the prestigious Oregon Health Sciences University in 1997, and since graduating he has he has taken hundreds of hours of continuing dental education to stay current and cutting edge for his patients. His list of expertise and training is too long to list, but well give it our best shot!He is a graduate of the Pacific Aesthetic Continuum. This is an over-the-shoulder learning program where cosmetic dentistry is taught hands-on by some of the finest dentists in the field. He has received Advanced Certification II training in Invisalign and is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Dustin has also received oral sedation training from the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. This allows Columbia River Dentistry to safely sedate patients that would like to sleep through their dental procedure.
He has attended the White Cap Institute, which is a hands-on training program for the surgical placement of dental implants and has successfully placed and restored dental implants in practice since 2000. He is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
When hes not busy giving patients a beautiful smile, he enjoys mountain biking, golfing, water-skiing, watching college football, catching a good NBA game, and spending time with family. He and his wife Christy can tell you about all their adventures touring national parks on their motorcycles are the proud parents of three daughters: Alyssa, Avery, and Cassidy.
Dr. Paria Mazareei is a general dentist who is passionate about the dental health and aesthetic appeal of her patients. Dr. Mazareei takes pride in offering the finest in patient care and services to each and every patient individually. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Dr. Mazareei made the cross country move to the Pacific Northwest to kickstart her career and start practicing what she loves best. Having a caring and nurturing approach is a big part of Dr. Mazareeis practice philosophy, and with her gentle touch, she helps create a comfortable environment for all her patients, especially ones who may have dental anxiety. Dr. Mazareei enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, photography, and going on hikes with her sweet dog Cosmo.
Originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dr. Gutnik attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN receiving his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Afterward, Dr. Gutnik attended Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Oregon Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity, and Multnomah Dental Society. When not working, Dr. Gutnik spends his time exploring different areas of the Pacific Northwest. He continues studies in violin performance and enjoys his role as 2nd principal violinist for the Jewish Community Orchestra, keeping up to date with the Portland Timbers, and exploring the vastly large food scene of Portland. Columbia River Dentistry proudly welcomes Dr. Gutnik and we know he will provide excellent care to our patients!

In my opinion, the worst part of going to the dentist is getting that numbing shot in your mouth. Somehow the dentist at Columbia River managed to make the shot almost painless. On top of that he was both professional and kind, walking me through every single step of the procedure. 10/10 Best dentist I've ever had.

I am a retired dentist so I think my review has special value, since I know what qualities and strengths a great dentist should have. I moved from California a year ago and had chipped a tooth. I dreaded going to a new dentist for a long time, so I tried to fix the tooth myself at home. I wasn't very successful in producing a lasting restoration, so I decided to find a dentist. After some research, I made it to Dr Kowal and here is my review: Spectacular skills, absolutely painless, superb chair side manner, wonderful personality, a gentle and caring individual. He enjoys dentistry and pays attention to details. I could tell that, because for 40 years, I provided dental service to thousands of patients. He asked me numerous times if I was comfortable, if I felt any discomfort , but under his amazing care I felt totally relaxed because I was in the hands of an expert!!! His assistant Shasta was wonderful, and very gentle while making my provisional crowns. Beautiful office, great people in the front, who made sure my visit went smoothly. Thank you Columbia River Dentistry!

Nice staff and great view of Mt. Hood while you get your teeth checked. I've been seeing Dr. Kowal for several years and he has been very great at helping me maintain my dental health.

Dr.Kowal is one of a kind but I absolutely love everyone on this team. I know it's hard to schedule that first appointment, especially if you feel uncomfortable with your current condition, or maybe you had a bad experience. I PROMISE Dr.Kowal and his team are there to guide you, not judge but help you care for yourself by careing for your teeth

Friendly helpful staff, new equipment...But I have a phobia of sitting where my back is exposed to other patients or staff members walking behind me instead of sitting facing the walk away between other dental stations. I can not return to this office because of the way it is set up.
