Dr. Malika Kohli pursued her degree in dentistry through studies in her native India and at Boston University. Dr. Kohli followed-up with several years of additional specialization in periodontics and dental implantation therapies. Dr. Malika Kohli has been in practice as a periodontist and general dentist since 2008 and is Columbia Pike Family Dentistrys owner and primary dentist. Dr. Kohli lives her commitment to maintaining cutting-edge knowledge and skills by attending a variety of continuing education courses.
Dr. Ehab Ehab BenNasir is a board-certified orthodontist. He obtained his Master of Dental Science MSD from CWRU in Cleveland, Ohio, completed his residency in orthodontics at CWRU. Dr. Ehab received Oral and Maxillofacial surgery training from Germany in 2009 where he obtained a Specialty degree in Oral Surgery and a Certificate in dental implants form the German Association of Dental Implantology. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Dental Association, and other professional organizations.
Dr. Darvish received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree (DMD) from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She is a member of American dental association, Virginia dental association and Northern Virginia dental society. Her main passion is to help patients with a comfortable and relaxing dental experience, and give them a smile they deserve.
She is providing a wide range of dental treatment including different aspects of restorative dentistry, endodontic and extraction. She sees patients with different ages from pediatric to geriatric and always tries to make sure that patients are happy before they leave the dental chair. She enjoys cooking and swimming and spending her free time exploring new places with family and friends.
Dr. Quan received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) dental honor society. She completed additional training in general dentistry at the Washington DC Veterans Affair Medical Center in 2020. Dr. Quan also completed her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience with a minor in Accountancy at the University of San Diego before making her way to the east coast.
Dr. Quan enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has special interests in crown, implant and esthetic dentistry. At Boston University, she had extensive training in the newest dental technologies like digital dentistry and she is excited to bring this service to her patients here at Columbia Pike Family Dentistry. She prides herself on providing excellent comprehensive care to every patient and is constantly learning about new techniques and materials.
In her spare time, youll find Dr. Quan on the soccer field, on the golf course, working out, hiking or traveling. She is also a huge foodie and has become infatuated with the DC restaurant scene. She loves trying new restaurants so tell her your favorite spot when you sit in her chair.

I have had my teeth whitened and am super glad I didn't try to do it alone at home. The teeth get sensitive from the chemicals and here they protected my gums really well. Also my teeth have a spotless, natural white now. I've been coming here for 4 years and despite of being very critical about our health care overall, I came to trust in the dentist's judgement. I higly recommend this place.

Dr Kohli is extremely professional and good with her Job. My treatment was hassle free and got done pretty fast- no problem at all, the front desk and all the people working there are super friendly and nice! The whole place has a positive vibe with light music playing in the background- you don't even feel that you are at a doctor's clinic.

Excellent dentist in the area. I have been a patient at this office for few years now. They have excellent customer service. Nooran the hygienist is gentle and caring. She always takes her time with me. Dr. Kohli is the best. She is always smiling and makes you feel very comfortable and calm. I am so happy with this office.

These guys are great - they've always fit me in and are incredibly pleasant to deal with. I called last week and was able to get a convenient appointment time for this week for a filling. When a second filling was noticed, Dr Darvish took care of it at the same time and it only took a few more minutes. She's very gentle, this is one of the rare times I didn't leave the dentist with jaw pain.

I was very disappointed with this dental office after seeing so many positive reviews on Google and Yelp. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with their service at all. To begin with, their hygienist (I think her name was Nooran) was rather rude, not gentle, and she acted like she was the dentist giving out her [incorrect] diagnosis of my teeth. I've been to many dentists since I move so much, and I rarely wince when they're probing and cleaning my teeth. It was like she was out for blood, trying to make the experience as painful as possible, and she had no bedside manner to say sorry, or she'll try to be more gentle. Despite that, when she did the cleaning after doing the perio chart, I didn't feel like she was as thorough as other cleanings I've had before. Dr. Kohli also didn't have great bedside manner. I have always been told that I have good dental hygiene and relatively healthy gums and teeth despite having pretty severe bone loss. I know I'm at a point where I need to start addressing the bone loss, but most periodontists will offer solutions while explaining clearly why they recommend that course of action. Dr. Kohli made me feel like I was not taking care of my teeth (I've NEVER been told that, EVER), and straight out said that I would lose some teeth within 2-3 years and that I needed a bone graft immediately to save my other teeth, except she can't graft the bone, so what she really meant was pocket reduction surgery, which is almost the opposite of a bone graft. I asked her about a new procedure that a previous dentist had recommended involving lasers, and she acted like I was crazy and said that she didn't know what I was talking about. I looked it up, and it's a procedure called LANAP, which is a non-invasive procedure that has better outcomes and is less painful than conventional surgery. It's been around for decades and was approved by the FDA in 2016, so it's not like it's even super new technology. So either she does not stay current in her profession, or she brushed me off because she is not qualified to perform that procedure. I just went to a new clinic, Smile Designers, for a second opinion, and they were much better than this office. Every person I talked to was friendly and treated me with respect. The doctor asked pertinent questions about my dental history, did some tests to evaluate my bite and other potential causes of bone loss, and thoroughly explained what he thought was going on with my teeth (Dr. Kohli did none of this, only the doom and gloom prognosis with no explanation). They were gentle with their probing, and the doctor gave me a thorough explanation of his treatment plan, which also made sense, without being rude or using scare tactics. The only positive thing about Columbia Pike Family Dentistry is their receptionist, Marvin. He was friendly, professional, and helpful. The rest of the crew could use some lessons from him. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

This was a great experience. Doctor Kohli was very good and very professional. She provided me with the best service and she made my veneer very beautifully I love the shape of it, they picked the perfect color for me and my smile is very beautiful . All the staff are great and very friendly. I highly recommend this dentist office highly.

Definitely not a fan of going to the dentist, but it's always nice to see the staff . Everyone is very warm, welcoming and always willing to walk me through any procedures I don't understand. They have the WORST communication skills and they don't have a consistent orthodontist. When they do have one... they are only in once a week and you can't see them outside of their office. They also never seem to schedule your appointments correctly so you have to call 5 times to make sure it's there. By the end of your treatment, they will hit you with a $1,000+ bill for "unspecified services". Even when I asked for the status of my account over the last year and a half, they told me I didn't have a balance based on my plan. They waited until the very end to tell me what my statement was and hit me with an unspecified charge of $1,500. DO NOT GO TO THEM.

One of the best dental offices in the area. They have been at this location for over 10 years and all my visits at this office have been great. They have done a lot of work on my teeth in these past few years and I have been very pleased with the work. They are very honest and upfront about what treatment I need. The treatment plan and cost of always explained to me in detail. The doctor and hygienist are very gentle. I am terrified of dentist but this office always makes me feel comfortable. I am a fairly new patient at Columbia Pike. So far I am very pleased with the service. I have very high anxiety but Dr. Kohli listened to all my concerns and was patient with me. The also have nitrous in the office which was cool. I was very comfortable and they made me feel at ease. I would be going back for more work here. Great office and friendly staff.

My first dental practice and dentist in 22 years. Dr Darvish was phenomenal in making sure she caught me up to care with some unfinished issues. And made sure I knew all my options for care along the way. Her bedside manner and ability to make me feel comfortable will earn my loyalty for the next 22 years. Her assistant is also great.
