I love working with children and experiencing their sense of humor and excitement for life. Showing a child that a visit to the dentist can be fun and enjoyable, especially if they are fearful to begin with, is such a great accomplishment. I view myself as a part of a team that includes our staff, our patients, and their parents, all working together to achieve healthy smiles for life.

  • Staying up-to-date with dental innovation is an integral aspect of my job. I complete numerous courses and attend seminars and study club meetings to keep current with the most effective and gentle technology. I do all of this to ensure my patients receive the high quality of care they deserve.

I love meeting new people every day and playing a part in their lives. My profession means so much to me: being a positive influence in the lives and health of so many different children, and learning from them in return, makes me look forward to practicing pediatric dentistry. I truly love explaining the importance of prevention to parents and children and empowering kids to keep their mouths healthy. I have a passion for working with children and young adults, including those with special needs, and believe in educating patients and their families about the importance of oral health and its link to systemic health.

As a mother, I understand that when you bring your child in for dental care, you are entrusting another person with an important part of their comprehensive health. I treat every child with the same compassion and skill that I would want shown to my own child. Working in a pediatric dental practice gives me the opportunity to provide care to children and young adults with different needs and backgrounds. It also allows me to couple my advanced knowledge of dental treatment and management with my love of learning and connecting with people. It is so rewarding to see a young person progress through their dental health journey and being a guiding partner in their success.

I feel fortunate in my career to be able to encourage and enable kids and their families to maintain a healthy mouth, and to be a partner in their comprehensive care. I love creating connections with my patients, especially children, whose pure curiosity teaches me something new every day. I truly do what I love and love what I do: empowering children and their families with knowledge to improve and maintain good oral health care. As a lifelong learner, I appreciate and apply the latest evidence-based research with utmost care and comfort in my clinical practice. Prior to dental school, I worked as a teacher at The Field School in Washington, D.C., which further solidified my passion for working with children. I am excited to be back in the area and look forward to seeing my patients grow and develop healthier smiles and lifestyles throughout time.

I am originally from Connecticut and currently reside in Montgomery County with my partner and dog. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy running, traveling, exploring the arts, and spending time with my family and friends.

I am most passionate about caring for those who have limited access to dental care. My main focus is treating children with very severe dental disease while they are under general anesthesia in the hospital. It is very exciting and fulfilling to complete all of their dental needs in one visit and take them to an optimal state of dental health.

  • I attend meetings and seminars several times throughout the year to keep current on the newest techniques and materials in pediatric dentistry. These courses also give me an opportunity to discuss cases and treatment approaches with fellow colleagues. I am also current in CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • I am originally from New York and currently live in Glenelg, MD, with my husband, Chet, our children, Julian and Jaya, and our two German Shepherds. My free time is spent traveling, reading, and skiing. I am also the Class Mother for my sons first grade class and am very involved in both my childrens school activities.

For as long as I can remember I loved being around children, so picking a specialty in dental school was a no-brainer. I enjoy the educational part of pediatric dentistry the most. I love that I get to connect with both patients and parents while working together as a team to create both a positive and educational experience in the dental office with a strong emphasis on preventative dental care.

I grew up in Fairfax Virginia andhave spent the last few years in New York City. While I loved my time there I am very happy to be back home and serving my community! Other than dentistry and children I love spending time with my family, cooking, traveling and eating!

Dr. Edo Lavi is a graduate of UMDNJ Dental School (now Rutgers) and NYU Post Graduate School of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. After graduating with honors from the University of Dentistry and Medicine of New Jersey, Dr. Lavi was a general practice resident at Long Island College Hospital, where he gained a deeper appreciation of dental treatment in the context of greater overall health and quality of life. He became experienced with medically compromised and handicapped patients, as well as severe head and neck trauma emergencies. The following year, Dr. Lavi became chief resident at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. During that year, he had the opportunity to research, publish, and lecture on the topic of sleep apnea, which had just begun to gain recognition. After graduating from NYU orthodontic school with honors in 2003, Dr. Lavi established his office in Israel. He felt truly blessed to be one of the few members of the American Association of Orthodontics to practice orthodontics in Israel at the highest level until relocating in Maryland in the fall of 2019

We had a great experience at this office from everyone who was part of the visit. The front desk staff allowed my children to be seen despite our arrival time being late. Everyone was patient and kind during the visit and I didn't feel rushed. As former patients who are no longer in the area, it was well worth the 1hr 30 min drive. Looking forward to the future visits with the office.

The office and staff followed all CDC Guidelines for C-19 prevention and more. Clean, friendly, courteous staff. Infectious kindness from the front door to the dental assistants. The pediatric dentist was very kind and professional and provided detailed explanations of everything, including all possible sedation methods for each procedure. My 6yo still "loves" going to the dentist thanks to this place! Wish they could treat patients my size!

Our first appointment was amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the environment was great. They did a great job in making my four year old feel welcomed. An added bonus was the state-of-the-art office. Loved it!

The staff is fun & the space is clean and attractive for both parents and kids. My boys had a great experience. The coolest part is that instead of giving the kids toys, they give tokens to visit a gumball like machine so the kids can have a choice of what kind of toy they want. Makes me wish I was a kid again !
