Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I went here in June because I had a cavity fall out of my back molar. I came back a week later to get a crown put on but no root canal was done. After a month of sensitivity to the crown I went back to have it looked at and was told to come back in another month to have it re examined. I was supposed to go today for that appointment prior to going I called and asked how much I would be paying for the root canal and was told no root canal was gonna be done. They were just gonna exam again and I would have to schedule a 3rd appointment for a root canal. A hour after I called they called me back and told me I didn't need to be seen and they could get me in in another month for a root canal. Wait what?? So now you don't even want to exam the crown what if I have a infection?? You don't care. More concerned about money. I paid in full for the crown on my first visit prior to even having the procedure done. If that wasn't a red flag then. Please go else where.they really are only concerned about making money and not the patients needs.

I needed a new dentist that would take my Met life insurance. The office is well equipped but the staff are trained to upsell you every step of the way. This happened twice, once with a needed crown, second time when they told me I had gum disease and needed a $1000+ laser treatment with some special chemicals. They pull a high tech screen right over to the dental chair to show you their treatment plan, but only reveal the highest cost choice. I had to ask both times to see the less expensive treatment, for which my insurance would pay. The dentist berated the office manager about having my teeth cleaned when she had already sold me on coming back for and paying for "root planing". When my new insurance plan would pay for me to go back to health partners, I did and they said I had some gum recession but nothing unusual for my age. They disagreed about gum disease and said this was likely an attempt to classify me as a "periodontal patient" so they could charge the insurance company more for any future visits and cleanings. Avoid this place. High pressure sales. Additional cost to you and your insurance plan. ----- By the way, this office is part of a large chain. Right after my review was posted (and after their office was closed) the automated reply that they use with every dissatisfied review showed up in my email and below. They obviously monitor Google reviews. But saying that they care in a reply here is *not* the same as showing it in the treatment of their patients. Buyer beware.

Went here for a root canal and went home five hours later with a lip injury. They very obviously drilled into my lip when I was still numb and called it a "little cut." The assistant was in and out of the room the entire time and the dentist was clearly in a hurry, reaching over me for tools. They put gauze on the cut and left me in the room alone. At one point I was walking around the hallway with blood pouring from my lip, all over the floor and my clothes, looking for someone to take care of it. My appointment was at noon and I left after 5pm with a prescription for ibuprofen. I drove home 15 minutes and starting bleeding as soon as I walked through the door. This continued to happen until 10pm but I didn't want to go to urgent care since I don't have insurance. This was my one day off of work for the week and I had to go into urgent care (and miss work) the next day. I was told it looked infected already and was given antibiotics. I'm now left with more bills than before. Clearly Columbia heights dentistry values money over proper care. I understand mistakes may happen but being treated poorly as well is completely incomprehensible. Now I understand why people have a fear of the dentist.

Expensive and they prioritize money over your needs! I went to them as my dentist travelled and i checked with this guys. The dentists here recommended lots of unnecessary procedures just to rip me off. I said no and saw my dentists after 3 weeks who i shared with the cost and recommendations from columbia heights dentistry and he couldn't believe their lies!!

They overcharge and try to sell you simple tooth cleaning over 3k! They billed insurance $1200 for just taking pics without doing other service after they seemed to me they are just scam.. If you can there are many other cheaper and better dental places that are reasonable than this place!!!!

Do not go to this clinic. At a recent visit to Columbia Heights Dentistry for a routine checkup the male dentist identifying as "Muslim" was continually flirting heavily throughout the entire visit. His behavior was very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. This caused feelings of vulnerability and was very uncomfortable while in his care. I advise anyone considering to visit this clinic to go elsewhere especially if you are a young female.
