  • If treatment isnt working, make adjustments. Some doctors are hesitant to change a treatment plan because they dont want to admit their original treatment plan was incorrect. Dr. Hamersky knows that everyone responds to treatment differently and changes are often part of the process.
  • It is always best to evaluate children while they are young. It is a good idea to help children build up trust by bringing them to the orthodontist early and it can help establish a treatment plan. However, it is important to wait for permanent teeth to develop before treatment begins.

Invisalign is a popular alternative to braces that uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners. Treatment with Invisalign is popular with adults for a number of reasons, including the following:

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little, week by week until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Hamersky has prescribed. Youll visit Dr. Hamersky about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
