Upon Graduation from LSU School of Dentistry in 1996 with his DDS, Dr. Keys worked as an associate dentist in Shreveport, La until opening his private practice in 1999, across the river in Bossier City, where he grew up. During his early years of practice Dr. Keys was a very active member of the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry where he was introduced to many of todays leaders in Continuing Dental Education. His involvement in the Ark-La-Tex Academy of General Dentistry was the beginning of a life long journey in Dental Continuing Education. To date, Dr. Keys has completed over 3000 hours of continuing education in the disciplines of Cosmetic Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Dentistry, Surgical Placement and Restoration of Dental Implants, Guided Bone Regeneration Procedures (Socket Preservation and Ridge Augmentation Bone Grafting), Occlusion (Bite Relationships) and TMJ Therapies as well as many hours devoted to Practice and Business Management. Dr. Keys has studied under many of Dentistrys leading clinicians including, Frank Spear, John Kois, Michael Schuster, Ken Hebel, John Nosti and Clinical Mastery Series, as well as many others.
Dr. Keys served as an Advisory Board Member for River Cities Study Club, a Seattle Study Club, from 2004-2010. He was A Spear Study Club Leader from 2010-2012 and is the former SME (subject matter expert / faculty member) of the PDS Institute, where he taught Continuing Education course around the United States in the disciplines of A-Traumatic Extraction and Socket / Ridge Augmentation Grafting Techniques for the General Dentist and Comprehensive Esthetically Driven Treatment Planning Through Co-Diagnosis and was named Faculty Member of the Year in 2016.
He is an active member of the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry) and Former Member of the AO (Academy of Osseointegration), ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantology), LDA (Louisiana Dental Association) and TDA (Texas Dental Association).
He is also the past President/Owner of OTS Implant Solutions. OTS Implant Solutions partners with major dental implant manufacturers and suppliers to provide hands on dental implant education as well as Live Patient In-Office Surgical training for dentists who want to add dental implants to their practices as a service for their patients.
Dr. Keys is an avid bow hunter and competitive archer and his love and passion for the outdoors led him to move his practice to the Texas Hill Country in New Braunfels, TX in 2012 and is now living his lifelong dream of private practice in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He established Colorado Dental Co in November, 2020 with offices in Idaho Springs and Winter Park to serve the residents of Clear Creek and Grand Counties.
Over his 27 years of practicing dentistry, Dr Keys has owned multiple dental practices in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas currently holds active dental licenses in LA, TX and CO as well as previously in OK.
In addition to maintaining 2 private practices and his teaching opportunities, Dr Keys enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors skiing and hunting, playing golf and sending time with his family. He is married to his wife Jennifer (Jay), who serves along side him in their Idaho Springs and Winter Park practices, and is the proud father of 3 daughters Kinley (19), Avri (17) and Braelyn (10) and Jays son Ragan (24).

This is the best dentist I have used in Grand County! They are amazing, the staff explains everything that will need to be done and it is done in a friendly, very comfortable atmosphere. Scott Keys did a crown for me and I did not have any pain or any discomfort, he also is extremely calm and makes you feel like family when you are there! The dental assistant was also amazing, answering ALL of my questions without irritation and with a positive and upbeat attitude! I would highly recommend you try them if you have not! The way they make you feel is far superior than any other dentist in Grand County that I have used.

Dr. Keys is an exceptional Dentist. He treated and continues to treat myself and my wife with grace and love. His staff goes above and beyond in every and all aspects. I thank our Lord for this man. I've gone years only getting work done when absolutely necessary. Now that I've reached a point where it is essential that I fix my smile, Dr. Keys has his work cut out for him. He is a talented man who is using his expertise to fix years of damage. Thank you Dr. Keys for all you do and the man you are. You are definitely a blessing!

To say I would recommend Dr. Keys highly is an understatement! I have always (and still am somewhat) been scared of having dental work...but when I received both my root canal & later wisdom teeth removal by Dr. Keys I was hugely surprised at how at ease I was under his care. I didn't even need my pain meds. for long after both procedures. Please take it from a "scaredy-cat", if you need basic to not so basic dental work....This is where you need to land as a patient and let Dr. Keys and staff take great care of you & yours! I believe it will be a great decision as I am not steering you wrong....I promise! Make your appointment today!

Dr. Scott Keys was my dentist for years in Bossier City, Louisiana! As a 63 year old, I have had five dentists over my lifetime and Dr. Keys is by far, the best! His expertise and knowledge of his craft are superb. His work is outstanding. I was sad when he left BC but am happy that he has found his home in Colorado, his favorite place on earth! I recommend him highly!

Going to the dentist has never been high on my list of favorite things to do. Having said that, I have to say that Dr. Scott Keys, DDS, is one of those dentists who is genuinely concerned about his patients and tunes into, not only their dental needs, but their "fear" of sitting in the dentist chair. Scott always went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable, frequently asking if I was okay during whatever procedure he was performing. And I can honestly say that Scott has never once made me feel uncomfortable or caused me pain. He maintains a high level of professionalism mixed with a jovial manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Scott Keys, DDS, to anyone looking for a dentist.

Complete, professional care. Excellent facilities, friendly staff, in a beautiful location. They stay current on the latest dental procedures. They are exceptional for dental implants if that's what you need. Like many people, I had a fear of having a root canal. For me, the entire procedure was painless. Highest recommendation. I have teeth like chalk. Dr. Keys has been diligent in finding the most effective approach to dealing with all the issues that are a result of troublesome teeth. He is thorough and thoughtful. He is gentle and compassionate. I was traumatized by our childhood dentist over 60 years ago. He has helped me face my fears and end the dread that goes along with a dentist visit.
