Katrina Lueras-Collins, DDS was born in Texas and raised mainly in Carlsbad and Santa Rosa, NM. After graduating from Santa Rosa High School, Dr. Katrina then attended New Mexico Highlands University where she studied Biology. She continued her education at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she continued to study biology and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006. While away from the office, Dr. Katrina enjoys spending time with her four boys, hunting, skiing, running and working out.

While in dental school both Drs. Ray and Katrina volunteered at One World Clinic at Creighton University where they donated as much treatment as could be done for two hours every Thursday for indigent patients. The Collins doctors returned to New Mexico in early 2006 after graduation. They worked at Divine Dental and The Mora Valley Health Clinic until August of 2007 when they opened their office in Santa Rosa named Deep Blue Dental. Then in August of 2008, Collins Dental was opened here in Las Vegas. They have commuted back and forth to service both communities since then.

Both Drs. Ray and Katrina are active in volunteering with the New Mexico Mission of Mercy (NM MOM) program. This event is held at least once a year in various parts of New Mexico and is designated to provide free dental care for the residents of New Mexico. The staff here at Collins Dental also volunteer at these events. Along with volunteering for NM MOM, the doctors also donate to donated dental services where they treat two patients in total per year with any treatment including cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, partials, and dentures.

** Currently in Santa Fe having work done to repair the shotty work I paid for at Collins dental. If you dont mind throwing money away stay with Collins dental. Return Reply: I did speak directly with Dr. Collins and her Assistant and was told (of course) I was wrong and mistaken about what I was told, lol. For 2 years I saved to have the money I would need for what I KNOW I was clear in expressing to the dentist and was basically called a liar aka "wrong" and feel what she proposed will provide me a checkerboard look for teeth. Sadly, I am definitely not surprised at the response as most companies respond in kind. Guess going local isnt everything they say it is. Will finish up with current procedure while I look into my options. Original- Not happy as procedures keep changing. First appointment I made I was clear that I wanted a PLAN and the cost of what would be done and I was told it would be provided. It was but seems to change almost every appointment. A month ago after a few hundred dollars worth filings, etc I decided I would prepay the remaining cost to get the work accomplished and finished for lower partials and an upper bridge spanning 6 teeth. I REGRET DOING IT. Since then it was suggested I get 2 crowns to ensure no breakage on the lower teeth once I got my lower partials. I followed the doctors advice and had them crowned. Tomorrow I was to have the lower partials FINALLY. But have now been told they have to measure my teeth? And then they could finish making my partials. So a 2 hour round trip now for something onew I was not made aware of would be happening. Neither does my husband who accompanied me last appointment. We do remember being excited because we were told I would receive my partials on my next appointment, tomorrow. I express to receptionist that was not what we were told and said goodbye. A few minutes later the phone rings and it's the receptionist again asking if I wanted to get the other crowns? WHAT OTHER CROWNS?! Sadl, Im really beginning to feel since I prepaid a few thousand dollars , that I am being nickel and dimed.

I cannot imagine going anywhere else for my dental care. The staff are very professional and kind and you rarely find a dentist as good as Dr. Ray or Dr. Katrina. They are the best!

I love this place! If you have to go to the dentist, the staff will make it as smooth as can be. Very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Dr. Collins will take time to explain everything and answer questions, and he's fun too.

Had crown come off over weekend. Called first thing Monday and they worked me in that morning. I had recently moved in the area and left my dentist I had for years that I had complete trust in with his work and professionalism. Hard to give that up. After my visit with Dr. Collins i feel I can relax with the fact that this will no doubt be my newly established dentistry. The whole office was professional and courteous and Dr Collins was gentle and explained things respectively. Just like recently finding my new hair dresser, having a great dentist solves two important life choices!
