Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Moved to college station and was looking for a new dentistry office. Modern dentistry took me in as a new patient and helped me have the best dental experience. I was having some trouble changing insurances and the front office ladies Fatima and Marissa helped me get my insurance settled immediately. During my visit I told the dental hygienist Mrs. Shelly that I had to get back to work in an hour or so, She did an amazing job and got me in an out of my cleaning promptly. Lastly, I saw doctor shriver and she made me feel super comfortable and confident in proceeding treatment. She is an amazing provider highly recommended.

I called on a Tuesday for wisdom tooth pain and they got me in for a consultation that day. They then got me in to remove my wisdom teeth that Friday. The office staff was beyond professional and nice. They helped me find a good discount program because I don't have insurance and paid out of pocket. It ended up cutting the cost more than in half. I was super nervous and the surgeon and office staff were super supportive and nice and were not rude about it at all. I definitely recommend them!

Needed to request x-rays and it has been a big ordeal for no reason. Bad communication on their end.

This has been the BEST dentist appointment that I have EVER had. Dr. Battise and all of the staff understood my needs and my concerns. They all paid attention and addressed my needs. I felt at ease very quickly. This will be my dentist from now on.

Dr. Montalvo is an absolutely AMAZING dentist!!! I am one of those previously traumatized dental people so getting a new dentist freaks me out a bit. Dr. Montalvo was patient, kind and explained things every step of the way.

I thought I had picked a good office to take care of my needs. I have been trying to contact them since June 22nd concerning billing questions and other concerns. I have called numerous times and left messages and sent a written message through smile website but have received not one call back. Always told no one in the office or employee I had been speaking with originally is not in. They promise someone will call me but they never do. Very poor patient relations.

My first visit last year was fine so I decided to come back this year on 7/18/2022. They seem to have had quite a few staff changes. I waited almost an hour for x-rays and over an hour for an exam. Then the dentist I saw, Dr. Montalvo told me I had four cavities and one of my back molars needed a crown. Due to mental health and high anxiety with dental work, I asked what his office did for people with similar anxiety, and he was incredible reluctant to discuss that. The women at the front desk gave me more information than he did, added all the notes into my file, and said a prescription would be filled a couple days before my follow-up appointment the week's Friday. A day or 2 later, I looked up reviews here, hoping to get more information about my dentist here and the office in general for these things, and more than a couple people said they were misdiagnosed with nonexistent cavities. After NOT having a prescription called in a couple days before my Friday appointment, I got a second opinion. My new dentist found that I had one cavity, needed two sealants, and she was shocked that the dentist here wanted to do a crown. The "cavities" Dr. Montalvo said he found were discolorings on weak enamel that I was born with and have had my entire life. She was also more than happy to discuss my anxiety and give me something to help with it. I don't know if it's sexism, incompetence, or too many new dentists, but I would absolutely avoid this office. UPDATE: I tried calling the number they provided in their response twice and no one picked up. SECOND UPDATE: The office reached out to me themselves. Melissa wanted details and feedback from my visit and took the time to take down all the information. She also reviewed everything with the dentist. I was surprised and grateful that the office took the time to try and improve their staff and practices for their patients.

Kayla was so great with my 4yr old! We were able to get in quick and the wait time was not bad at all during the visit. All dentists that we've seen thus far have been great!

(Translated by Google) After 18 months of not attending the dentist for personal reasons. The assistance I received from all the workers was pleasant, but to my surprise, my special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Shriver, from whom I received a (severe) teeth cleaning without any discomfort and nothing like my previous experiences. Thank you.

Worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. I was told I had 5 cavities and needed them fixed ASAP. When they tried to book me to have 5 fillings for an absurd price the next day, I felt uneasy and decided to get a second opinion from a dentist I knew back home. I really felt I had one or *maybe* two cavities. Turns out I only had ONE cavity and it was a surface blemish that didn't require any numbing to fill and did not cost much to fix. My friend had the same experience here unfortunately. The whole place was also dirty, the chair I sat in was covered in hair. DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!!!

Made appointment online for cleaning and pain, it took over a month to be seen. Arrived at 3:25 appointment was moved down to 3:30 from 4p upon my request. Filled out information on tablet, after went to front desk to let them know I never received text message to enter into mychart. At 3:57 was taking to back did xrays finished in maybe 10 mins. Dr. Didn't come in until 4:45 did exam, and said I had to reschedule for cleaning they didn't have enough time and I needed a deep cleaning that would have been over $500 out of pocket with insurance. Money wasn't the problem, it was I asked for a cleaning upon making the appointment and I didn't even get one. Now I have to make another appointment

I used to go to the dentist regularly ,& as i've gotten older I haven't been to the dentist in probably 2-3 years. I went today ,& I had an amazing time! Everyone was so friendly. They showed me on camera where one of my old fillings had cracked and started to form a new cavity. They were upfront about what insurance would cover. There were no surprise's during my visit like I have had with previous dentist's. Thank you for the great care! I floss pretty regularly , but they also took the time to teach me and show me! Highly recommend them!

Modern Dentistry has been my go to ever since I moved to BCS back in 2016. I first discovered them when I needed an emergency procedure before a business trip and were the only office that would accommodate my schedule. The doctors and staff are friendly and engaging and willing to spend time with their patients. They also have an endodontist who travels up from Houston who is extraordinarily thorough. Highly recommended!
