Dr. Jonathan Fung, D.D.S., is the owner and dentist here at Collaborative Dental. He has made the on-going policy at Collaborative Dental to always listen attentively and be sensitive to the needs of every patient. Dr. Fung knows that each patient has a different story with unique circumstances and the best way to achieve objectives is through teamwork with a qualified and attentive professional. He treats his patients with kindness and respect because patient comfort and satisfaction is his top priority. Dr. Fung purposely keeps the practice small so that he is able to give each patient the individual attention they deserve. He never pressures a patient into any procedure, no matter the circumstances. Collaborative Dental maintains a policy in which patients make decisions that are right for them. Dr. Fung will explore all of the available options with the patient, provide the benefits and costs of each procedure, then let patients make the personal decision that is best for them. He and the Collaborative Dental staff strive to make patients that come in feel empowered and valued while practicing gentle compassionate dentistry. It is important that each patient leaves happy, whether they had a cleaning or a root canal. When Dr. Fung is not at the office, he enjoys fishing, archery, traveling, cooking, coffee roasting, and trying out restaurants and cafes.
Summer will likely be the first person to greet you when you walk through the door. She is the Office Manager at Collaborative Dental and her priority is to make you feel comfortable and to answer any questions that you may have regarding your treatment. Summer is a native San Diegan and in her off hours enjoys relaxing at the beach, discovering hidden restaurant gems, and teaching English to her parrot, Coconut. She is experienced and well trained at handling any financial or insurance questions that you might encounter.

Dr. Fung and staff at Collaborative Dental came to my rescue! So I cracked my tooth at work on a snack and I was able to find Collaborative Dental through some Yelp reviews and a recommendation from several friends! Collaborative Dental staff were able to accommodate around my crazy schedule and see me quickly. Dr. Fung was amazing and very thorough and was able to help fit me for a crown! Dr. Fung and staff were very friendly and professional! I highly recommend them for your family dentistry needs!

Dr. Fung did an amazing job with my teeth! I had my wisdom teeth extracted and multiple fillings done. Each time I went in for my appointment I was greeted by the wonderful receptionist and staff! Great experience overall and I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Very quite and clean facility. I brought my two teenage boys to see Dr. Fung and they had the best experience of any dentist I've ever taken them to. Dr. Fung is very thorough and completely explains what he's doing and what to expect after the procedure. I am more than grateful for the above and beyond approach to my children's care. You have to come in to experience his care the service, words don't do it justice. Thank you Dr. Fung, thank you Summer.

Dr. Fung and his Dental Hygienist were highly professional and caring. The office is clean and welcoming. My mother went in for a post extraction follow up from out of town as she was visiting and now having pain. They were able to get her in right away. After her visit she said Dr. Fung was the most gentle dentist she has ever had. Dr. Fung also followed up by phone to check on my mom. We had such a great experience. Thank you Dr. Fung for taking such excellent care of my mom. We can't say enough good things about this office.

I finally found a dental office that I like! I hadn't gone to the dentist in a few years and I had multiple deep cavities that needed to be filled. For the first time in my life, the procedure was actually painless! I no longer fear going to the dentist. I highly recommend Collaborative Dental for your dental needs :)

Dr. Fung has really changed my relationship with what it means to go to the dentist! Even with a history of not-so-great-teeth, Dr. Fung made me feel comfortable with the work that needed to be done, as well as confident in the future of my teeth. The office atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and relaxing... I feel right at home!

I was so happy to get my teeth cleaned after missing my usual 6 month frequency due to the pandemic closures . This was my first time at Dr. Fung's office . He came highly recommended to me by my pediatric dentist . I have a totally anxiety with dental offices and it's super important to me that they have a calm and relaxing environment and staff . Everyone there was so nice , from start to finish . The office is clean and organized and it has a totally soothing vibe from the second you walk through the door . Dr. Fung is super friendly and incredibly thorough . He devoted a ton of time to explain many aspects of oral health and hygiene and the workings of my teeth etc . I love knowledge bombs & fun facts and I think being educated about my own oral health will absolutely help me long-term . I was very appreciative of his time. I'm so happy that I have found a new practice that I plan to be at for quite awhile . I Would highly recommend collaborative dental to anyone !

I never need to look for another dentist again. Dr. Fung put me at ease from the beginning when I refused to smile because of my missing teeth. Not once did he or his staff make me feel uncomfortable about it. They handled my insecurities professionally and stayed focused on my x-rays. They made no comment about my missing teeth. When it was time to start my cleaning, there was a TV on the ceiling! I got to put on a pair of bluetooth headphones and zone out in a show while he worked on my teeth. It helped immensely to ease the discomfort by distracting me with Netflix. I completely forgot about my embarrassment and was comfortable enough by the end of my appointment to smile. I will never look for another dentist again.

Dr. Fung is awesome! I went once for x-rays, exam, and a cleaning, and again to get two old fillings redone. Dr. Fung really takes the time to explain things and is extremely thorough in his work. Sam, the dental tech, is very detailed in her work as well. X-rays were very comfortable and she is the only person who has been able to floss around my bonded retainers with ease! Summer, the office manager, handled my insurance and appointment scheduling. She made it easy for me to get in as a new client and gave me a quote on the percent cost that my insurance wouldn't cover for my fillings before my appointment. I really appreciate the office's transparency, professionalism, and friendly manner. I will definitely be back in six months for my next cleaning!

My first time with Collaborative dental happens so great. Dr Fung put a lot efforts to keep clients relax during the detal treatment. From essential oil smell to the music from XRay , from TV screen during treatment, I forgot that I am in dental office so make me feel relaxing. I am new client , so I am quite nervous. But after talking with Sam and Dr Fung, I feel so comfortable and open up. Dr Fung explains everything that I concern. Thanks for everything. Highly recommend dentist

Hands down the best dentist I have ever been to! he is so patient and very caring! he explained every single x-ray to me and took the EXTRA time to answer all of my 163 questions! I am very happy with his services and although I don't like going to the dentist, at least I have found one that makes it somewhat pleasant! Thank you Jon!
