John Turner grew up in Ashland, Oregon. He completed his undergraduate studies at Oregon State University, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude in 2007. He then earned his D.M.D. in 2011 from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Turner has completed courses on IV sedation and Invisalign, and he also has advanced training in implantology and the removal of wisdom teeth. He recently participated as an instructor with Western Surgical and Sedation, where he taught surgical procedures to other dentists. He is a member of the Inland Empire Periodontal Study Club, the Intermountain Odontology Study Club the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
In his spare time, you will find Dr. Turner enjoying all that the Palouse has to offer. He is an avid skier, fly fisherman, golfer, and hunter. He enjoys competing in archery and shooting sports. He loves to travel with his most recent trip being to New Zealand with his wife McKinzie. He is a true fan of his alma maters team, the Oregon State Beavers, and attends games any time the Beavers play in Pullman. Dr. Turner has been married to his wife, McKinzie since 2013, and they have a 3.5 year old son named Doran, a newborn daughter named Ellie and a cat named Fuzzy.
Kelli will be the first friendly face you will see to welcome you during your visit. Kelli has been dental assisting for over 15 years and has spent about a decade working in the front office. She is a Spokane Community College graduate, a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), and also a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. She treasures the friendships she has with her team members and our patients.
Lori holds a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University. She has been a Dental Hygienist in Colville, Spokane, and Colfax. She has lived in the Palouse for 26 years with her husband, Bruce, and their two daughters, Jade and Jordan. Both daughters have recently graduated from college, making Lori and Bruce true empty nesters. In Loris free time she enjoys most outdoor activities, reading, and gardening.
Amy graduated from Eastern Washington in 2007, receiving a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene. Prior to college, she attended and graduated from Colfax High School. She has been an integral part of the Colfax Dental community, having worked here since 2015. She also worked as a hygienist in Moscow, ID for nearly 7 years before joining the Colfax Dental team.
Amy lives in Oakesdale, Washington with her husband Jeremy, daughter Madelyn, and son Brantley. She loves spending time outdoors walking with her dog Oliver, hiking, swimming, paddle boarding and running on occasion. She also enjoys baking (decorating cookies in particular) as well as trying out new dishes and foods. What she enjoys most about our office is the people that she works with. They are some of the kindest, warmest people she knows and she looks forward to seeing them every day at work.
Regina graduated in 1986 from Spokane Community College with a degree in dental assisting. She has been a certified dental assistant serving the Colfax community for 30+ years. She lives in Steptoe with her husband Dan. They have two grown boys Dustyn and Dakota. In her free time she enjoys gardening, fishing, hiking, and camping.
Dawn Maureen grew up in Tri-Cities, WA, and she moved with her family to Whitman County four years ago. After high school Dawn Maureen attended a dental assisting school in Spokane. She enjoyed it so much that she is pursing a degree in Dental Hygiene and is currently taking her pre-reqs. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, camping, baking, music, and spending time with family. Dawn Maureen feels extremely fortunate and proud to be a part of a team that gives our patients the most positive dental experience possible.

Dr. Turner is our new dentist after moving to Whitman County from the Seattle area. My husband has had 2 much older crowns replaced very successfully and Dr. Turner made retainers (a grand dog ate one & he said, "It happens," LOL) that corrected a gap I had. We feel very confident in his work and his staff is wonderful! From Kelly's easy scheduling & processing insurance paperwork, to our hygienists Amy & Lori, who are amazing at gently and thoroughly cleaning & Regina & Dawn, who do a great job assisting Dr. Turner & have great personalities, we are in great hands! We highly recommend Colfax Dental!

Great staff and great results. Hygenist and Dr. Turner take the time and care to ensure patients are comfortable.I have been to a lot of other practices that have left bad impreasions and experiences with the dentist, but I havnt had a complaint in the year of being a patient.

The most gentle dentist known to my own personal experience and no more rubber dams....instead the doc used a jaw rest of some kind. Support staff as always was great.

I had such a great experience at my recent dentist appointment! Dr Turner was very friendly and made me feel very confident in the dental care I received. As always, the entire team was so friendly and caring. Colfax Dental never disappoints!

I got so much special treatment as a new patient! Kelli made sure I was totally prepared. When I came in, Dr. Turner knew my entire dental history at a first glance. He and his team did a thorough exam of my teeth, gums, and bones before starting any work. Lori the hygienist was awesome: she cleaned my teeth to perfection, explaining everything and checking in with me along the way. I told her she could be more aggressive because she was so gentle! Overall it was a very pleasant experience, and I love the location: I accidentally went shopping at the cute stores around the office afterward. Can't wait to come back!

MOST compassionate dentist office I'VE EVER been to and I couldn't be more blessed to bring my children here too! The staff and Robert T. Smith DDS, have their hearts filled with so much love for everyone. They always have open arms to welcome anyone that walks into the office, their smile lights up the room and they ALWAYS do everything they can to get you as comfortable as possible. A last minute emergency... no problem at all, give them a call! They are ALL so very kind! I love that they share a smile when you need one. Very non-materialistic and family oriented! They care about you in every way and most importantly... your oral health! The atmosphere is beautiful, the right amount of decorations, toys for children and even reading material for all ages. Even some awesome posters to look at while you're back in the chair! Pretty funny when you have to swallow a million times because you have so much spit back there and they don't mind at all :). Can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me and my family, even people like you! Thank you SO much for ALL the help around Halloween too.... glad we can save some teeth <3 BEST DENTIST EVER!!! Lots of hugs! If I ever moved I would travel a million miles just so my family and I could continue seeing all these wonderful people, they truly are the best!
