Permanent teeth will begin to grow around age 6, and except for wisdom teeth, are all present between ages 12 and 14. Wisdom teeth typically begin breaking through from age 17 and on. The total number of permanent teeth is 3.
Your front teeth are called incisors. The sharp fang-like teeth are canines. The next side teeth are referred to as pre-molars or bicuspids, and the back teeth are molars. Your permanent teeth are the ones you keep for life, so it is vital that they are brushed and flossed regularly and that periodic check-ups by a dentist are followed.

Dr. Cole Waggener grew up in the Merritt Island area and graduated from Merritt Island High School in 2005. After high school Dr. Waggener attended undergrad at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. There he received his Bachelor of Science degree in pre-professional biology. He took two years off from school working at the local hospital in Boone for the pathology department and as a phlebotomist. After two years he decided to pursue his dream to become a dentist. He then attended Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI where he completed his Biomedical Science Masters Program. He then went on to attend dental school at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Waggener graduated this past Spring and is very excited to start giving back to the community where he grew up.
Dr. Waggener is part of the Brevard Dental Society, and the American Dental Society (ADA). While in school, Dr. Waggener participated in dental lobby day at the state and federal level where he met with representatives and senators at the state capitol and Washington DC to lobby for the dental profession. He is looking forward to getting involved with organized dentistry in Florida.
Outside of work, Dr. Waggener enjoys spending time with his his family: his wife, Dr. Stephanie Waggener, his daughter, Anya, and his chocolate lab, Bear. Together they enjoy golf, being outside and working on their new home.

Great dentist and great office staff! They always submit claims to my insurance in a thoughtful way that gets as much covered as possible. The dentist explains everything that's going on to you as if you're a smart person (a lot of the times doctors assume its over your head).

Consistently excellent and caring. I switched to Dr. (Rick) Waggener several years ago and have never looked back. Both Rick and his son are well educated and know how to apply their knowledge and experience to my dental needs. The doctors and their fantastic staff have gone out of their way to pay attention to me. The team at this office make my dental care effortless and something that I never feel like I have to worry about. Expertise, equipment, and office systems are all very good and I seldom have any wait time whatsoever. Thank You !

Though I'm no longer a patient, at least for now, the Waggener dental team is by far the most professional, friendly, and skilled dentist group I've ever been a part of. Though my experience with Dr Cole is not as extensive, both dentists are honest , gentle, caring, and highly skilled/knowledgeable. Every hygienist and assistant I've had has blown me away with their friendly attitude and comforting disposition. And the front desk has always been super friendly, warm, and easy to work with. I'm not a patient currently only bc I live and work 40 minutes away and it's too tough to make it up to M.I. right now. But for years I chose to see the Waggeners despite the long drive and despite my insurance no longer covering them. It was worth it -- and to say that about a dentist is saying a lot!! I look forward to when I can make it back to this practice.

I have had roughly six different dentist's in my lifetime. I can honestly say that both Dr. Rick and Dr. Cole Waggener go out of their way to show how much they care about their patients and their staff. They are family oriented and canine friendly. Each of them have done extensive treatment for my dental needs. I felt no pain during or after my visit. I have extreme confidence in these dentist's and have referred my family and friends as well.

I have been going to Dr Waggoner for twenty years or longer. I find him and his staff to be friendly and professional. I have never experienced any pain and I had many procedures. I love his bright office and his helpful staff. His son Colt has joined him and he is wonderful with my husband and I.

I somehow had managed to chip a small area on one of my two front teeth. My appointment was at 10:00 and the process was done and finished by 10:30. They did a fantastic job, no complaints!

It's been so many years, I can't remember how long that I've been counting on Dr.Waggener's office to care for my teeth! I'd say nearing 25 years and not once disappointed. This is a great family of dentists now that Cole is stepping into his dad's shoes. I recommend their dental practice highly. Broke a crown this past month and they squeezed me in for a new crown, fixed the same day knowing I was leaving town! Their staff is friendly & awesome!! Can't get any better than the Waggener's so don't even try!

I have been going to Dr Waggener, for years. They are all so nice, and professional. My family also have been to them. They take care of everything in the office. Now, his son has joined the practice, and it is just as good as his dad. I highly recommend them for dental work.
