Dr. Adam Cole was born and raised in Athens, and had always planned on coming back home when he finished school. In college, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry so that he could help people live happier, healthier lives. He graduated from Auburn University Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors degree in Zoology. He then earned his DMD in 2009 from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, where he was the vice president of his class.
Just before graduating from dental school, Dr. Cole married his high school sweetheart, Holly Huggins. They soon moved back to Athens to start a family-oriented dental practice and to become part of the community they grew up in.
Dr. Cole is a member of several dental organizations, including the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has a passion for helping people with their dental needs and he strives to make every visit to the dentist an enjoyable one. In his spare time, Dr. Cole enjoys sports, especially basketball, and spending time with his family.

We go above and beyond the American Dental Association (ADA) and OSHA recommended standards for cleanliness and safety. Before your visit, we disinfect all of our equipment in a designated area with state-of-the-art sterilization technology. We also thoroughly sanitize each room between patients. We worry about the cleanliness of our office so youll never have to.

This place is awesome. From the ladies up front to Dr. Cole hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. If you have dental anxiety this is your place. They make you feel comfortable and reassured your in good hands! Heck I might keep up with my oral care now that I've found a great dentist. Clean,very friendly, and patient place.

Can I give this dentist 10 stars instead of 5? :) My husband and I are catching up on all of the standard yearly appointments we missed in the chaos of 2020, and we've visited quite a number of medical providers here in North Alabama after relocating from Colorado. Out of all of the appointments, I've only found 2 local providers who offered a standard of care that matched what we experienced with our former providers in the Denver area, and this fantastic dentist is one of them! Dr. Cole must be incredibly busy, as he is the most in-demand dentist I've heard about from my neighbors and online research, but he certainly didn't show it during our first visit. He took time out to truly listen, explain, and inform. The technology in the office is also modern and on par with the most advanced dental practices I've visited outside of Alabama, and our hygienists were a joy to talk with during our cleanings. Dr. Cole also took extra time in my case to address a question, and he didn't even charge me for an additional x-ray and his time spent recommending options. Wow! Additionally, this lovely office runs like a well oiled machine, even with the challenges of COVID-19 protocols in addition to the standard forms and billing elements they always need to handle for each patient. I was pleasantly surprised to login to my dental insurance portal only a couple of days later to see all charges for both of our appointments accurately billed (100% covered by dental insurance in our case) and completed so quickly. I usually offer a PRO/CON list in reviews like this, but I cannot think of a single negative here. Athens is very lucky to have Dr. Cole and his wonderful team, and I highly recommend!

I had an amazing first experience here. The staff was very professional and friendly. The doctor made me feel comfortable and was up front about what work that I need. I feel that the price is fair and affordable. The office is very clean and are following COVID precautions.

Dentist and the dental hygentist are both very good. Unfortunately the staff up front leave much room for improvement. I left work early to drive 25 minutes to my appointment to find out my insurance (have not changed providers since last two visits) no longer pays for cleanings and it will be $80. After I said no thank you and left my intent was to find another dentist which my insurance would pay for. Since my husband went here I decided to try again and I called back to discuss the insurance rate change and was told that I was covered and would only have to pay a copay, so I made another appointment for three weeks out. When I arrived I was asked to pay $80 for my cleaning again...at this point I pretty irritated with the terrible communication and waste of my time. I called BCBS AL and the insurance company told me the dentist was within network and covered! Since I was still in the parking lot and early for my Appointment I went back in and the insurance company spoke with the cole family dental staff and got everything adjusted correctly. Worth noting - I tried to show the lady at the front more than once my insurance card to make sure she had it Inputted correctly. Whole situation could have been avoided if the cole family dental staff would have checked the insurance inputted in the computer with my insurance card.

BUT I am so very pleased to say that Dr Cole and his staff were absolutely amazing. The hygienist, Crystal ( hope I spelled your name correctly) was so sweet and was sure to take her time and explain everything to me. She made sure I was at ease the whole visit. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone who may be looking!

Let me just say , I LOVE this place!! Everyone is so friendly and actually care ! It's not just a paycheck to these individuals who work at cole family dental. I have really bad anxiety and honesty Very self conscious about my teeth because when I was growing up I didn't take care of them as I should have and so I have had to had a lot of work done throughout my adulthood and one time even asked to hold the dental asst hand because my anxiety is that bad. I can't even explain how comfortable this place makes me, and they also have payment plans, just be honest with them at the get go and don't keep dodging them etc because I normally in the past I would freak out going to the dentist. ( yes even as an adult ) I don't have the names of the workers but I will get them an update this. A BIG thank you to COLE FAMILY DENTAL for making me feel comfortable as possible and for setting up a payment plan so I could get my front teeth fixed with confidence.

Excellent dental practice... one of the best I have experienced. I broke an old crown on a tooth and was heading out for an Alaskan cruise later that week. They got me in the day before we departed and were able to actually put in a new crown that afternoon during the visit. They utilize technology to improve their service and they are equipped to make their own crowns in house. In my case, recognizing my circumstances, they stayed a little late and got my new crown on for the cruise. Service above and beyond my expectations. Good on ya Doc and staff!
