As a third-generation orthodontist, you could say that creating beautiful smiles is in Dr. Colbys blood. No matter if hes treating a teen or an adult, his focus is on the patient and hes driven by the satisfaction that hes making a lasting difference.
Dr. Colby graduated from DePauw University with a B.A. degree in 1990. He then went on to the University of Minnesota where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1994 and his Master of Science degree in 1996.
Dr. Colby is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists. Healso is a Diamond Plus Invisalign Provider (in the top 1% of orthodontists worldwide)and has completed more than 3,000cases. Additionally, Dr. Colby serves as an orthodontic consultant for the prestigious national Spear Study Club.
He and his wife, Kristi, have three sons Peter, Drew and David. When hes not in the office, you can find him fishing or hunting with his boys, relaxing at the family cabin, coaching hockey or on the golf course.
Gentle and skilled, Dr. Mueller spends time getting to know his patients to help him deliver a personal level of care. Orthodontics allows him to learn who a person is because treatment happens over several years and he sees patients about once a month. He has plenty of time to create a connection with his patients and get updated on all their sports and activities they are involved in.
Dr. Mueller was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 2012, where he finished first inhis class of more than one hundredstudents. He then completed a two-yearresidency in orthodontics and received his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Minnesota in 2014.
Orthodontics is always changing, Dr. Mueller furthers his expertise through continuing education. He attends conferences, lectures and seminars to ensure his patients are receiving the most advanced care and treatment techniques.He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists and Omicran Kappa Upsilon (national dental honor society).
Dr. Mueller grew up in Grand Rapids and after graduating high school proudly served our country on active duty with the U.S. Marines. He later served as a dental officer in the Minnesota National Guard. Today, Dr. Mueller is excited to be doing what he loves in the Brainerd Lakes Area along with his wife, Chanel and sons, Thomas, Erich and Peter. Heloves to get out and lace up the hockey skates and also enjoys snowmobiling, hunting and hanging out at the lake.
Carrie has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for almost 24 years! Starting out as a dental assistant and transitioning to office manager over the years. In her free time Carrie enjoys sewing, antiquing, and four wheeling with her sidekick Josie (yellow lab). Her favorite part of the job is seeing the change in smiles.
Leah has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for 17 years. Leah's favorite part of her job is meeting new people and seeing happy faces when braces come off. Leah is originally from Wisconsin, meaning in her free time she is cheering on the Packers, going on hikes and reading. She spends lots of timecamping in the summerand ice fishing in the winter with her family.
Melissa has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for 10 years. She is usuallythe first smiling face you see when you walk through the door. Her favorite part of her job is our patients. In her free time she likes to spend time with family, cook and going for walks with her dogs (Piper and Mavis). She loves supporting her kids by cheering on the Brainerd Warrior hockey, ballet, and track teams.
Sheri has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for 7 years. She is up front and in the back clinic.She grew up in the Brainerd Lakes area and is raising her 2 boys and 3 dogs here with her husband, Tony. Her favorite part of her job is creating relationships with the patients and seeing their beautiful smiles. Sheri spends her free time with family on the lake, playing volleyball, and working out.
Julia has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for 2 years. Her favorite part of her job is creating awesome relationships with the patients throughout their treatment and seeing their great new smiles when braces are off. Julia is local to the area, growing up in Pequot Lakes and going to college at CLC. In her free time she likes to travel, enjoy the outdoors by four wheeling, hunting, and spending time on the lake.
Kaley has been at Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for almost 3 years. She grew up in Crosby and went to college at CLC. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the progress patients have made. Kaley likes to spend timeoutdoors, four wheeling and traveling. Her favorite travel spot is California.
Gracie has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for almost 2 years. Her favorite part of her job is seeing amazing results before and after treatment. Gracie enjoys hanging out with her animals (dogs-Piper & Mavis, chickens, and a fish). She spends her free time boating, shopping and drinking coffee. She grew up in Brainerd and went to college at CLC.
Lori has been with Colby-Mueller Orthodontics for 1 year. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the change in people's smiles. Lori likes to spend her free time outdoors, riding horse, and walking her dog. In the summer she barrel races.
