For over 20 years, Dr. Ofer Cohen and his staff at Cohens Gentle Dental have been providing patients in Fordham Heights, Washington Heights, and Bronx NY with superior care and a complete menu of dental services. We ensure each patient not only receives high-quality care while in our dental chair but also information regarding dental health and their own personal oral wellness plan. We take pride in caring for patients through all stages of life, providing pediatric dental services (including checkups, gentle cleanings, and braces) in addition to dental care services for adults and seniors (including cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, and dentures).
We at Cohens Gentle Dental want all of our patients to feel that each of their individual dental health needs is met and satisfied. At each of our offices, our dentist strives to provide patients with complete dental care. We offer everything from pediatric and adult routine dental exams, oral cancer screenings, and bi-annual cleanings to oral surgery, tooth extractions, braces, cosmetic dentistry, veneers and crowns, implants, restoration, same-day dentures, whitening, and even emergency dental care.
Our dentist, Dr. Cohen earned his doctorate degree in General and Cosmetic Dentistry, but his education did not end with graduation; he continues to receive training in special procedures and stay abreast of the latest advancements in oral health care procedures in order to provide our patients with the highest quality care.
For our patients convenience, we practice out of six convenient locations serving patients in the Bronx NY area including Fordham Heights and Washington Heights. Cohens Gentle Dental offices are located on White Plains Road, East Fordham Road, West 231 Street, Alcott Place, and Fort Washington Avenue in Bronx, NY and on Broadway in New York, NY.
Dr. Cohen attended the New York Universitys Dental School, where he obtained his Doctoral degree in General and Cosmetic Dentistry. He has received special training for dental procedures, which are designed to help reconstruct patients teeth, gums, and smile.
At Cohens Gentle Dental, Dr. Cohen is devoted to ensuring that each of his patients leaves the office having received the highest quality of care and are educated on their dental health concerns. He prides himself on being professional, caring, and welcoming. Dr. Cohen is also multilingual and speaks Spanish and Hebrew in addition to English. The practices mission is to provide lifetime care for dental health needs to patients of all ages, and has been in business for over 20 years. The staff at Cohens Gentle Dental strives to cater to the unique needs of each patient and works with them to create good oral health habits.
Dr. Kevan Hosseini attended dental school at the University of Pennsylvania where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He values his patients time and prides himself on making sure all patients are seen as scheduled. Dr. Hosseini strives to educate his patients about dental care so they have all the tools they need for a lifetime of healthy teeth.
Dr. Marc Strauch went to dental school at New York University where he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He is fluent in both English and Spanish. He is passionate about dental health and making sure that his patients feel comfortable. Dr. Strauch loves to see his patients smile and is truly grateful for the relationships he has with them.

I hade an appointment August 18,2022, white plains location,it was very uncomfortable, technician was very rushed to X-ray . Doctor (Boss) was very rude. I tried to explain him my problem, he didn't lessen to me and was angry said go other place.So waste time & came back. Never i'll go this place.

I spent close to $8000. Approximately 4.5 years ago. One by one the veneers place fell off. I tried to contact off and schedule an appointment and Noone picksup the phone .$8000. I received a call from a representative. Rude and condescending. Calmed I did not visit a dentist in a timely fashion. The records will show I visited their other site as well. No apologies just called to say he did not approve of my review.

Today, I have seen Dr Strauch DDS, He was the most PROFESSIONAL, Awesome and Skillful dentist I've had seen in many years. This will be my dentist in the future. He did a masterful work on my teeth. Haven't been to this dentist office for a while. They called me to make an appointment, I said good what do you have available, I agree with the date they did not ask me what kind of insurance do I have., For me I believe is protocol to ask the patient what kind of insurance they have or ask the question if the person has the same coverage. After I waited for twenty minutes they called me to the front desk and asked me if I still have my old insurance. Really front desk person? When you called could you ask me when if I was insured by my old one? Time wasted.

Well, I didn't actually get to see the doctor. Here's what happened. I made an appointment a couple of weeks in advance. I specifically called the White Plains Road location. Spoke with someone who asked for my insurance. At first they said, they didn't take it, but when asked me more info on the insurance, indicated to me that they DO take it. Took the day off, went to the appointment, filled out a bunch of a paperwork just to be told, they don't take the insurance and haven't for 3 YEARS. . . .why would I be told this after and not in advance. They said to take the paperwork and go to the Fordham location. What's the point? I said, nope. I'll find another doctor and stormed out. I could have been at work or could have found another doctor. Whoever booked the appointment, could have double-checked. I've researched how bad Cohen's can be, and willing to put up with it If the doc is good, but this was insane. This was a horrible experience. I stormed out of the office as upset as I was. If you make an appointment to any of their locations, I suggest to force the front desk personnel to triple check if they take your insurance before going or you may end up taking a day off from work for no reason.

Im very glad i found this place! Clean and professional environment, the dentists and nurses are very patient and careful. Most dentists know people have dental anxieties but these people here? They understand. They talk to you, they help fet you through the process as quickly and as gently as possible. Highly recommend giving these nice people a call if you or your children need to see a dentist

Dentist was great and fast. My rating is based on the rude front desk woman that didn't check my insurance when I checked in. She had an old card on file with the same insurance company and I haven't been there in a long time due to covid therefore it didn't cross my mind to remind her of her job to check my insurance card like all my other doctor offices do when I check in. Due to that, I lost my spot in line and someone went before me that had a later appointment. She was not polite at all when it was her mistake and her job. If it wasn't for the doctor doing a great job, I would leave to another dentist due to the front desk.

When I went here for a cleaning by a dental assistant she actually chipped a front tooth. I wish I had before and after pictures so that I could've sued them. I also remember the time this place was giving away gift cards for writing a "good review" so I wouldn't trust all the positive reviews here. The last time I went here I was seeing Dr. Ofer Cohen who was not very nice to me regarding the condition of my teeth and refused to help me fix the issue. Instead, he wrote me a useless referral without a doctor or place to go to. It just stated what he thought was wrong with my teeth. Very unprofessional and dishonest. And, the condition he thought I had, other dentists I've seen told me that his assessment was false and inaccurate. DO NOT GO HERE.
