Ruthie may be new to our dental office, but she actually worked with Dr. Christel Cochell for over eight years in Mill City beforehand! She attended Chemeketa Community College and the assisting program at Concorde for her education. Today, she is an EFDA and an EFODA with certifications in dental sealants, radiology, BLS, and CPR. She thinks every aspect of the dental field is highly enjoyable and wouldnt change her career path for the world.
Outside of work, Ruthie has a boyfriend named Aaron who is helping her raise a beautiful daughter named Boston. She also has a son named Dustin who will soon be playing D3 College Football and a Lab named Riggin. Her personal hobbies include bow hunting, logging, cooking/baking yummy foods for her family, playing and watching softball, reading Navy Seal books, building furniture, and taking on fun projects she finds on Pinterest. An interesting fact about her: she actually donated her kidney to her aunt when she was 18!
Before joining our team, Salem native April had about 15 years of dentistry experience. After she graduated from McKay High School, she attended Apollo College. She is certified in radiology, sealants, and expanded functions, which helps us more efficiently serve our patients. Her favorite part of her job is giving our patients the high-quality care they deserve.
When April isnt in our dental office, she loves to spend time with her husband, who is her high school sweetheart, and their two wonderful children. In her free time, she also enjoys reading books and riding 4 wheelers.
Sheryl is originally from Springfield, Oregon! Before entering the field of dentistry, she attended both Lane and Chemeketa Community College and ELITE: Dental Assisting Academy. Since then, she has continued to expand her expertise through continuing education, and she has earned her DANB Radiology Certification. When asked about her favorite part of her job, she shared that it is watching patients fall in love with their smile again.
When she isnt at our practice, youll most likely find Sheryl spending time with her three beautiful children. She also loves to play the piano, camp in the mountains or along the coast, and read. One interesting fact about her is that she doesnt own an umbrella!
Niki was born and raised right here in Salem. She attended Oregon State University and currently is certified in CPR and radiology. She hopes to get into dental school in the near future as well! Since joining the world of dentistry over five years ago, she has loved making each patient feel comfortable and having the opportunity to make them smile.
When she isnt with our team, youll find Niki with her family, which includes her three dogs, Miloh, Britain, and Oslo. She also enjoys thrifting, helping her boyfriend with his photography and videography business, and singing karaoke!

I'm a new patient at Cochell. They got me in for an emergency appointment last-minute, and I could NOT be happier that it was them. Dr. Cochell is an absolute gem of a person, and does fantastic work.- very kind and CLEARLY knows what she's doing! April, the dental assistant for my appointments, might be one of my favorite dental employees I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. This is a great place, with warm, friendly people in a comfortable environment. Lots of dental procedures are unpleasant no matter what, and this team made sure I'll be coming back in the future for all my needs. Thank you all, so much, again.

This is my favorite dental office ever! I am one of those people who don't enjoy going to the dentist until I found Dr. Cochell and her team. They are kind, gentle and actually listen to their patients needs. The office is clean with private rooms for everyone. I would absolutely recommend this practice.

Very comfortable office to go into. Very friendly and honest treatment. I really appreciate that Dr. Cochell explained what needs to be worked on, and she then asks what I want to work on first and not just dictate what needs to be done.

Absolutely amazing experience as always! Dr, Christel is so amazing & extremely informative in every step during any visit. She is so amazing with my girls & has such a gentle hand while working. Such kind amazing staff who work side by side with her! I highly recommend Cochell dentistry to anyone. I've been a patient here 10 plus years & never had a bad experience. I've had horrible trauma as a kid going to the dentist & as soon as I found Dr, Christel I was relieved.

I've had the pleasure of being a patient here since 2014 and I couldn't be happier with the treatment and care I get when visiting Dr. Cochell. I've had two episodes of severe dental pain and my goodness I was taken care of each time, worked in and cared for. I will never go anywhere else. I've referred many to Dr. Cochell and they are still current patients and express how much they appreciate her. Hands down 100% the best dentistry ever!

The staff here makes going to the dentist a pleasant experience. Everyone is fun, friendly, professional, and willing to answer any questions I may have, regardless of how silly they may be.
