I became an orthodontist to help people, and, in the process, develop great relationships with them. I appreciate the diversity of my days. The conversations with people of different ages. Each with a range of experiences and interests, and how each interaction broadens my world
I started practicing orthodontics in 1996. Growing up and watching my father, Dr. Cobb, Jr., as he cared for patients, and seeing the connections he made and the happiness he delivered, led me to follow in his footsteps. I am honored to practice at the office he established in 1966. Since I share a name with my dad, please call me Dr. Tripp.
I strive to give each of my patients the smile and confidence they deserve. By incorporating technologically advanced techniques into treatment, Im able to develop a care approach thats comfortable and fast. My focus is on functional. Stable results for improved oral health and a pleasing smile that lasts a lifetime.
At Cobb Orthodontics, we provide highly individualized care. No one is forced into a certain treatment plan. Each persons experience is uniquely customized and carried out to meet that persons needs and expectations, while respecting their concerns.
I grew up in Greensboro and graduated from Western Guilford High School. Beyond creating smiles and studying the latest processes and technologies, I enjoy time with my family. Im also active and like biking, skiing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, and fishing and hunting.
Throughout the year, Ive completed many continuing education coursesto staycurrent on all aspects of dentistry while focusing on orthodontics and Invisalign. I feel this makes me a better-rounded professional, beyond creating great smiles, and allows me to provide the highest level of care to my patients.

We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

Dr. Tripp is great. He is straightforward with the treatment plan and what to expect. He is a perfectionist with the treatment and for an orthodontist, this is a must. They want to make sure your smile is perfect. His staff are excellent and have such great personalities. I highly recommend his practice for patients of all ages.

This star is based on a phone call not being a patient haha. I called for my son who needs braces and has medicaid. The receptionist was rude said no then hung up. I called back to clarify if they are full on their medicaid patients or if they do not serve medicaid patients at all. I got their information from our pediatric dentist. If they did not service medicaid at all, I wanted to let our dentist know to stop suggesting them. So, I called back and pretended she didn't hang up on me and asked just that. She proceeds to say no again and tells me I want Bryan Cobb not them very rudely, then says google it and hangs up. This place may very well have a bomb Orthodontist but just know you will first have to deal with a basic KAREN who apparently get her Cheerios Sh*t in daily. cheers!

Had a consult 1 year ago with Dr. Cobb and we discussed treatment options. Then COVID-19 took place and therefore I made a personal decision to wait to proceed. Revisited him about 1 year later and proceeded with plans discussed 1 year ago. Dr. Cobb and staff are pleasant and easy to work with. Very pleased and satisfied with experience thus far. I look forward to proceeding with ongoing treatment. P.S. prices and payment schedule are very reasonable.

Dr. Tripp Cobb and his entire staff are incredible. They are personable and professional, and respectful of my time. I can't recall a time I've had to wait more than a couple of minutes to see the doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Cobb and his staff. They will take great care of you!

First appointment went great. Everyone super nice, knowledgeable and not just willing to explain, but want you to understand process from start to finish. Great atmosphere. Update-Cannot believe how straight my teeth are already. It's crazy, has only been about 37 weeks. Had metal braces when I was young (real torture) and had to get them cranked tighter monthly, leaving mouth sore for days. Nothing remotely similar with Invisalign and Dr. Cobb. Appts every couple/few months, swap out trays weekly that you're given in advance and mouth is not sore. Don't know if I'm the exception, but can't imagine I am. Am just tickled pink with the change in my smile. Thank you Dr. Cobb and everyone in your office. You guys are fantastic! Update-Cannot believe I'm done. These guys are great!!! Not one negative moment.
