Dr. Cobain is passionate about giving his patients the opportunity to be proud of a healthy brilliant smile. He loves seeing his patients transform from being self-conscious about their teeth to confident individuals who laugh and flash their smiles without a second thought.
Dr. Cobain attended UC Santa Barbara, where he earned his bachelors degree in biological sciences. He attended the University of the Pacifics School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003. He completed his formal education at UOP in 2005 when he earned his Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Cobain has since made it a priority to attend continuing education courses in all areas of orthodontics. He is especially interested in the latest advances in technology such as Invisalign and digital scanning (iTero). Evidence-based dentistry is his focus because he wants to offer only high-quality treatment options that have been rigorously tested and proven to be effective. He is committed to giving all his patients the most comfortable and efficient treatment methods available.
Dr. Cobain believes that his profession defines him. I feel extremely fortunate to be an orthodontist and believe that its a privilege to help my patients improve their smiles, their oral function, and above all, their self-esteem. It is important to me that the office environment is fun and positive so patients are comfortable the entire time they are with us. I truly care about giving my patients the best experience and smile possible. I believe everyone has awesome potential. I feel that orthodontics can help remove roadblocks that may hinder an individual's path to reaching their full potential.
Dr. Cobain spends most of his time out of the office with his family and friends. He is a proud parent of his two young boys who keep him running! Together they enjoy video games, baseball, and exploring the outdoors. His focus is being the best father he can be.
In his spare time, Dr. Cobain enjoys playing soccer, surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Whenever possible, he travels to the beach or mountains to enjoy adventure sports. He also enjoys attending or volunteering in community events. He believes that through such involvement, he not only improves his community but betters himself.

I was honored to join Cobain Orthodontics in 2015. Dr. Cobain and his team have taught me everything from scheduling and working with insurance to joining our new patients in the consulting room. I love working at the practice because it has taught me so much about dental care and patient care, which I apply in my daily interactions with our families. When I am not in the office, you will find me spending time with my wonderful cat Ginger, going to concerts, and enjoying time with my friends and family.
I started off my dental journey as a dental assistant at a pediatric office then moved on to a general practice before finding my way to Cobain Orthodontics. I look forward to serving our families every day while learning more about Orthodontics. I am currently applying for dental hygiene school to further my dental career. In my free time you can find me exercising, snowboarding, reading, and trying out new restaurants!
I joined Cobain Orthodontics in 2016 and it has been rewarding to see the transformation that occurs with our patients. I am happy to have the privilege of taking part in our patients' treatment and seeing them become more confident in themselves! I love spending my free time with my husband, threekids (Natalie, Vincentand Philly),our two cats and our two snakes,or making our annual trips down to Disneyland!
I started my dental career by gaining experience in general dentistry. I feel that a person's smile is their best feature, and I want to help people feel confident and beautiful. Looking for a more upbeat and fast-paced environment, I decided to transition into orthodontics. I am so grateful I found this office during the summer of 2016! Cobain Orthodontics is a loving office with a fantastic team that is very inviting and has made me feel welcome! It's refreshing to be in a work setting with people who are passionate about their jobs. I have twin daughters who love to explore the East Bay hills and parks with me when I am not working.

I love the atmosphere when ever I come in the office. Dr. Cobain has away of connecting with his patients and I appreciate that he genuinely wants the best outcome for my treatment along with his other patients. The employees are so friendly and welcoming.

My experience with Dr. Cobain was completely terrible. Feel free to read more on Yelp and I'll post here my story with the proves later. TL;DR - Went through treatment with Dr. Cobain that only made everything worse and now I'm being told that I need retreatment and probably full mouth restoration, when Dr. Cobain was saying that he could fix everything with the braces. In addition to that when I requested him treatment notes, his office sent my complete medical history to my old address without even confirming whether I'm still living there. In the end of our long conversations where I was trying to get concrete answers what was done in around year and half, what's left, why I'm permanently in pain and why he decided to drill my teeth three visits in row without my consent and ignoring what stated in contract - Dr. Cobain agreed to return my payment if I sign non-disclosure - of course I declined after the damage his did to my teeth, pain and suffering I had to go through and sending my PHI data without my written request and confirming my address. Of course they stated it's my fault, because I didn't update the address. I don't know when they last time took a training about working with PHI and HIPPA compliance, but sounds like they should take it again and refresh the knowledge about this topic. I definitely do not recommend Dr. Cobain to the community!

Got my braces on today! As an adult I was very nervous & just because I don't like pain. Amber was very good at explaining the steps & making sure I was comfortable through the whole process. No part of it actually hurt at all. So excited to start & can't wait to go back. Can't wait to have a pretty smile

I was iffy about getting my braces off bc i felt they didn't look good. Once I got them off I was soooo happy !! Dr Cobain is great!!

I'm very upset. My daughter was 11 years old when I took her to her first consultation with Dr. Cobain. My daughter's dentist recommended we did not start braces right away because she still had most of her baby teeth. I was up front about her Dentist's recommendation. Dr. Cobain insisted it was perfectly fine to get started on braces. My daughter has undergone countless extractions of her baby teeth and Oral Surgery at the request of Dr. Cobain. My daughter is 14 now, a freshman in high school and her teeth now need braces all over again according to Dr. Cobain. My kid still has a metal chain in her mouth from her last Oral Surgery he recommended. Now they want to extort THOUSANDS of dollars from me to simply attend to the problems they have created. This is unethical, emotionally as well as financially abusive and it needs to be shared.

Dr Cobain and his staff are amazing. I had braces on for about 2 years and they took care of me every step of the way. His staff was always friendly and allowed me to ask questions throughout the process, and were very quick to respond to emergencies when I had a broken bracket or a pinching wire. I would definitely recommend Cobain for all your orthodontic needs.

Cobain Orthodontics is a great office with a great team behind him. Dr. Cobain is very knowledgeable in his field and recommends the best treatment options for his patients and has always been extremely helpful with any questions or concerns I have. The staff is always welcoming and very bubbly, and the assistants in the back are efficient, patient and knowledgeable. I got my braces off last year and I'm still in love with my smile that my braces before could not fix! Thank you Dr. Cobain and team!!

His staff was also great at making the office feel like a safe place. The woman I spoke to (I believe her name was Dana) was great at explaining all of their policies put into place since Covid-19. It definitely felt like a family friendly and, most importantly, a safe environment. I cannot wait to proceed with the treatments.
