Dr. Bob Garrison has more than 30 years of experience as an orthodontist and has helped thousands of patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles through braces and a wide array of orthodontic treatments. A lifelong South Carolina resident whose father was a general dentist in Columbia, SC, Dr. Garrison grew up and worked in the Columbia and Lexington areas, and owned a successful orthodontic practice in Lexington for decades, where he put braces on more than 10,000 patients, including the daughter of former Governor of South Carolina and former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
In 2016, Dr. Garrison sold his orthodontic practice in Lexington with the idea of retiring in Bluffton. However, it didnt take him long to realize that starting a new orthodontic practice made sense in so many ways. With the launch of Coastal Orthodontics, Dr. Garrison is excited to bring his many years of experience and passion for orthodontics to the Lowcountry creating a unique practice that not only provides patients and families the highest quality of experienced orthodontic care and outstanding results but offers a fun environment and stress-free journey to a beautiful smile.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS in Biology, he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and his degree in orthodontics from the Medical College of Georgia.
Originally from the Boston area, Tanna has lived in Bluffton since 2014. She left Boston to get away from the snow and the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. Lowcountry life in South Carolina had the appeal of more relaxed living and warmth year-round. She stays busy with her husband, two children and two dogs! Tanna enjoys working in Orthodontics because she loves seeing peoples transformations from beginning to end and the joy that it brings them.
Christie moved to the Bluffton area from Maryland, has more than 15 years of experience in chairside assisting and notes that the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the beautiful smiles we create. She enjoys the opportunity to get to know patients and their families during their treatment where she gets to see them every six to eight weeks and loves hearing about their day at school or at work, what sports they engage in, and where they have gone on vacations.
Anna is originally from Panam but grew up all over the place as a military brat. The military is also what brought her to South Carolina, her husband is a Marine who was stationed at Parris Island. He is getting out of the Marine Corps, and they are making South Carolina their home because they fell in love with the Lowcountry lifestyle. Anna is excited to raise her family here, she has one daughter with plans to have more kids but for now she is happy with one daughter and two fur kids. Anna enjoys working in Orthodontics because she had a horrible snaggle tooth growing up that she was very self-conscious about. Braces helped her fall in love with her smile and she thinks everyone should be able to have a smile they love.
Bridget moved to Bluffton in July of 2019 from New Jersey. Bridget is married to a wonderful husband and has two children and four grandchildren that keep her heart full and her schedule busy! She enjoys being outdoors and frequently goes on bike rides, out for walks and loves going to the beach and pool. She likes working in Orthodontics because she loves the confidence a beautiful smile gives to a person. Being a part of someones new smile transformation is its own beautiful reward. She has worked in Orthodontics for over 30 years and doesnt have plans to stop!
Norma is from beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii but has lived in Southern California the majority of her life and is a California girl at heart! The Marine Corps relocated her family to South Carolina due to her husbands service as an Active-Duty Marine. Norma and her husband have two adventurous young boys and two dogs that fill their home. She loves seeing the progress as patients go through their treatment. She is approaching her 20-year anniversary in Orthodontics and uses her experience to ensure her patients time in treatment is comfortable.
Kim moved from Williamsburg, Virginia to South Carolina because she wanted to be amongst the palm trees and back to her southern roots, she moved from a colonial town to a coastal town, and it is a totally different world! She has 2 beautiful daughters that are grown and out of the house, and now has 3 sweet fur babies to occupy her time. Kim enjoys being in Orthodontics because she wants to be a part of giving people the confidence to smile. She remembers the impact her braces had for her confidence and loves seeing others find that same confidence. She used to be complimented on her eyes all the time and now her smile is the first thing people compliment!
