Each member of our team is thoroughly skilled and trained in all areas of the orthodontic treatments we provide. Our team has decades of combined experience and engages in continuing education opportunities to always stay informed. We are always up to date on CPR, sterilization and radiographic techniques to ensure your safety.
Alicia is one of our teams outstanding registered dental assistants, and she joined the Coastal Orthodontic Care family in 2013. She brings experience and sincere dedication to our practice. Alicia is adept in all areas of orthodontics but still loves participating in continuing education courses every chance she gets to further her skills and ensure she is providing her patients with superior quality care.
Alicia was born in Japan and travelled across the globe with her family while her father was serving in the Navy. She has called Camarillo home since 2001 and currently resides there with her husband and three handsome boys. When she isnt at Coastal Orthodontic Care, she enjoys exercising, going to the beach and discovering new music.
Bernie, one of our orthodontic registered dental assistants, joined the Coastal Orthodontic Care team in 2018. She started her career in the dental field over 10 years ago in 2007 and is extensively trained in general dentistry and orthodontics. Although extremely educated in both fields, Bernies real passion is in orthodontics. She feels privileged being a part of a patients orthodontic journey, from the first time they walk into our office to the day their braces are removed. She loves seeing the transformation of a quiet, shy patient to a confident patient, beaming with pride as they see their new smile for the first time.
When not at the office, Bernie spends as much quality time with her beautiful, young family as possible. They enjoy all types of outings together. Bernie is also a crafting aficionado, particularly with sewing. She can create practically anything you can imagine. She creates beautiful pieces for our office (look at the bulletin board as you checkout) and is always the first to bring out the decorations for any holiday.
Christina joined the Coastal Orthodontic Care family in 2021 after 10 successful years in retail management. New to the medical field, Christina has been able to excel and continues to succeed in all aspects of the practice due to her continuous hard work, determination and attention to detail. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to any of her team members. It is not hard to believe that her favorite part of her day is interacting with patients. This becomes evident when you hear her greet all our patients by name and with a smile. Christinas eagerness to learn, combined with her exceptional customer service skills and gregarious personality, is what make her an invaluable member of the Coastal Orthodontic Care family.
Christina was born in Orange County, moving to the Ventura County at an early age. She grew up in Camarillo with her four siblings and parents. She loves living in Camarillo, so much so that she continues to reside there with her boyfriend, Michael, and their fur-baby, Jake. When not at the office, Christina loves spending time with Michael, her family and, of course, Jake, whether that is at the beach or just taking a walk to the park.
Davawn has been a part of the Coastal Orthodontic Care team since 2014. She loves working with people of all ages and increasing their health and confidence by transforming their smiles. She works to form strong relationships with each patient and parent throughout their treatments. She enjoys seeing the growth and changes that occur during their orthodontic transformation. Davawn feels it is an honor to be a part of our patients growth and misses seeing patients regularly after they graduate from our practice.
Davawn spends her off-time with her family and friends. She loves outdoor activities, especially when it involves running, hiking or camping. Davawn also enjoys expressing her creative side. She is an avid dancer, crafter and baker. If you are a current patient, she cant wait to see you again. If you are a new patient, she looks forward to meeting you soon! Genevieve, one of our orthodontic assistants, joined the Coastal Orthodontic Care team in 2021. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in the dental field. Genevieves extensive knowledge of treatments and high level of skill makes her a vital part of our team. Her positive outlook and kind personality give her the ability to make even the most nervous patients feel at ease.
Genevieve is a California native who also calls the Midwest home. After growing up in Southern California, she moved east to Chicago and started a family. Two daughters and a son later, Genevieve and her husband decided to make the move back to California. She now resides in Camarillo with her husband, her son and her dog, Bentley. Genevieve enjoys traveling any chance she gets, especially if she can go back to Chicago to visit her two beautiful daughters.
Jessica is Coastal Orthodontic Cares expert finance coordinator and insurance connoisseur, joining our team at the end of 2021. Her career in the orthodontic field began in 2013 when she started as an administrative assistant. Jessica used her time in this position to become knowledgeable in all areas of orthodontics and practice management. She ultimately found her niche in the financial department and now is able to share this knowledge with our team and patients.
Jessica is always ready to answer questions and assist patients with arranging their financial options. She works with every patients insurance company to ensure they are able to utilize their benefits and have the opportunity to achieve the smile they deserve.
Jessica has lived in Ventura County for over 25 years. She first met her husband in 2004 and they now have two beautiful children. In her free time, Jessica enjoys watching basketball, camping, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Maria, a 2011 graduate of Charter Colleges Dental Assisting program became part of our Coastal Orthodontic Care team in 2019. Her 10-plus years of hands-on experience and extensive knowledge of orthodontic treatments and other services make her an invaluable asset to the team. Marias demure and reserved disposition makes her extremely effective in calming and comforting even the most nervous patient. Her positive outlook and encouraging approach help patients to stay focused on their ultimate goal: a beautiful, healthy smile!
Born in Mexico, Maria moved to Ventura County when she was just six. She now resides in Santa Paula with her fianc and son and another beautiful baby on the way! Maria comes from a large, tight-knit family who enjoys spending quality time together. Their favorite activity? Riding ATVs together! She also enjoys watching baseball and football and always supports her two favorite teams, the Dodgers and the New Orleans Saints. And we cant forget to mention her love for collecting all things Harry Potter!
Mariela graduated from Charter Colleges Dental Assisting Program in 2017 and soon after, she joined the Coastal Orthodontic Care team. She is well-versed in all orthodontic techniques and services, which allows her to consistently provide patients with superior care. Mariela understands the importance of making a patients orthodontic experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. To accomplish this, she believes a patient must be educated and feel comfortable with their treatments. She is never too busy to take the time to explain each procedure to a patient to ensure they have a full understanding of their orthodontic care.
Sara has been a member of our Coastal Orthodontic Care team since 2008. Her hard work and ability to connect with patients has been instrumental to our practice. She is our back office lead and always supports her fellow teammates through encouragement and positive reinforcement. You can find her at Dr. Lautts side, making sure the office flow is ideal for all and doing what she loves best interacting with patients and educating them on their treatment. When patients finally get their braces off, she is the first to congratulate and celebrate with them.
When shes not killing it at the office, Sara is a proud soccer mom and loves spending as much time as she can with her two awesome daughters. She also dedicates as much time as possible to living life to its fullest with her fianc and other family members. Some of Saras favorite activities include barbequing and hanging out by the pool with her loved ones.
