Dr. Scholl is a pediatric dentist. What does this mean for your child? Pediatric dentistry is one of nine recognized dental specialties of the American Dental Association. This means that Dr. Scholl is a specialist in the field of dentistry dealing particularly with the oral healthcare of children, from infancy through the teenage years. She has completed two years of additional specialized training (after the required four years of dental school) to prepare her for treating a wide variety of children's dental problems. She is also trained and qualified to care for patients with medical, physical or mental disabilities. She is a mother and understands not only the needs of children, but the questions parents have. She loves her job and looks forward to seeing your child soon. During your visit, please be sure to ask any questions you may have.

To stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the field of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Scholl maintains active membership in numerous prestigious professional organizations, such as the Maine Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Maine Society of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. She is also a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Her board certification means that she has gone through a rigorous examination process with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Only dentists that have completed a residency in pediatric dentistry can sit for the board certification examinations. Board certification tests the knowledge and problem-solving abilities of a pediatric dentist.

Dr. Scholl grew up in Lewiston, Maine, but spent several years away from Maine for schooling. She happily came back to Maine in 2007 and worked as a pediatric dentist in Scarborough and Lewiston before deciding to open her own practice. She, her husband, and two sons reside in Brunswick. Outside the office, Dr. Scholl enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, skiing and camping.

Dr. Erin is a pediatric dentist and the perfect fit for our office, as she creates a safe, fun-filled environment for each patient and helps each child build a positive relationship with dentistry and good oral health for life. She loves working with kids, their spontaneity and energy bring joy to every day and she cannot imagine having any other career. She is here to care for your childs needs and address any questions or concerns you may have about their dental health, growth, and development.

Dr. Erin grew up in Lewiston, Maine and received her Bachelors in Biology from the University of Maine (Go Black Bears!). She completed her dental degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Dr. Erins pediatric training took her far from New England to Tampa, Florida where she attended NYU Hospitals pediatric dental residency.

After the completion of her formal training, Dr. Erin has remained passionate about continuing to develop as a pediatric dentist. She is active with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and is a board certified diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Erin has been practicing in rural Texas since graduation and while she will miss the little Texans she cared for, she couldnt be happier to be back home. We are so excited she has decided to return to our great state of Maine and to become a part of our team.

In her spare time, Dr. Erin is dedicated to volunteering with vulnerable populations. Some of her most unique and rewarding experiences were serving as a pediatric dental professor at the University of the West Indies Dental School in Kingston, Jamaica and caring for the dental needs of children of migrant farm workers in Florida. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and participating in a variety of outdoor activities. She is ecstatic to return home to Maine and experience all the wonders this state has to offer while being close to family and friends. If you have any suggestions for fun hiking or unique restaurants, be sure to let her know!

Everyone here that we came in contact with were super kind and willing to help with whatever we needed. Unfortunately our visit was due to a referral but I will proceed in trying to get my daughter as a patient there. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a little one. Thank you!!

Everyone in the office is really nice and calm. They took an interest in what my son likes and made him feel so comfortable. We will definitely continue to go to them for treatment!

Very friendly atmosphere, the staff are extremely understanding and most definitely experienced pediatric providers. My son is just under 3yrs old and given all the covid malarky since he was born, his experiences going to the doctor's of any sort have been nothing less than traumatic (rushing to isolating rooms, getting shots with people gowned up and masked, drive-by covid swabs in the car while strapped in, etc..). With that said, no matter how much I hyped it up, he was immediately difficult to work with for his first visit to the dentist. The hygienist and dentist were able to work through a cleaning AND managed to calm a screaming terrified child down enough to where he was able to have a conversation - he even left saying please and thank you on his way out. Major kudos!

So patient with my autistic son, and offered comfort visits just to get him use to the dental office and the treatment areas. Highly recommend.

My 2.5 year old doesn't walk anywhere, as she was running in her usual fashion she fell and hurt her mouth. Gums were bleeding and it felt like her front tooth was a little loose. We are not established patients at CMPD but I called anyway in hopes of an "emergency" opening. They were able to see her right away. The dental hygienist and Doctor Emily were both incredibly patient, kind and most importantly they explained everything to my daughter in a way that calmed her and made her feel safe in an unfamiliar environment. Doctor Emily explained everything to me efficiently and answered any questions Ruby or myself had. I left feeling confident that my daughter was in good hands and Ruby left with a bouncy ball and a tiny toy alien and dog, so she was satisfied.

We just had an excellent intake visit for my 3yo son, who has never been to the dentist before. The staff were warm, extremely competent, and child focused. They adapted to my son's and my family's needs and allowed me to lie in the chair with him because he was scared. My son had an extremely positive experience! He is very excited about his prizes and has already said he can't wait to go back and see Dr. Emily again. We will definitely stay with this practice!

My children love coming to this office! I've had some bad experiences with other dentists myself and chose this office because I wanted my kids to have a positive experience. All 3 of my children actually look forward to their visits. The staff are friendly and great at communicating everything being done as well as what to work on for next visit.
