Dr. Sinclairs career began as an art conservator, where he was primarily focused on restoringdamaged painting and sculptures for museums. He discovered that many of the attributes heenjoyed about conservation also applied to cosmetic dentistry. Plus, there was the added benefitof working directly with people.
Dr. Sinclair earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He has spent additional time in postgraduate training, studying under renowned leaders in functional and esthetic dentistry.
He now leads a study club educating fellow dentists about those functional and cosmetic principles he learned at the Dawson Academy. Dr. Sinclair currently is an Accredited Dentist of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is in a clinical role as a product evaluator for Contemporary Product Solutions and 3m ESPE.
Dr. Sinclair is a Virginia Beach native and is committed to giving back to the community. He is passionate about local business and the arts, serving as the past president of Buy Fresh Buy Local Hampton Roads, and serving on the Board for Towne Bank, The Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Old Beach Farmers Market.

I'm going to speak about CCID from two perspectives. As a patient, this is the best place I've ever had the pleasure of calling my Dentist. The staff is attentive, and actually listens to your concerns. You are a huge part of your own treatment. Everyone is so knowledgeable and always smiling. As an employee, in my 20+ years as a dental assistant I have NEVER worked somewhere other than CCID where I truly felt like family, valued, and appreciated. Until now I have never worked somewhere that the doctors, team leads, and practice manager write you handwritten cards of appreciation and affirmations. Im coming up on my 2 year anniversary with CCID and looking forward to many more!

This office is so incredible, been here for over 2 years now so I have taken them through the paces, fillings, mouth guard and several cleanings. I have major dental anxiety and Dr. Sinclair is truly patient and just genuinely nice guy. Have always felt at ease here- the front desk staff is welcoming and kind. Ashley has been doing my cleanings and she is so sweet, always super friendly as well as good with my teeth. I recommend the office to anyone who needs care. I even drive 30 minutes for them. You won't be disappointed if you come here. Just all around great experience here.

5/23/2022: Ashley cleaned my teeth today. She took the time in the beginning of the appointment to review any concerns I had or changes in my health. I was most impressed while waiting in the reception area. I listened to Tori take a call from a potential new patient. She patiently went through all the new patient options with the caller. That is why I come here - their professionalism and courtesy. 4/14/2021: Heidi cleaned my teeth today. She did a great job. She was very concerned with my comfort around some sensitive spots on my teeth. She was very delicate around those areas. No one had ever expressed the concern she had for my comfort. 8/8/2017: Miranda did a great job cleaning my teeth. She was very informative and prepped me for everything she was going to do. I would recommend Dr. Sinclair and his team to everyone. 5/30/2013 update: I am almost done w/ my Invisalign treatment and my teeth look great. Dr. Sinclair has been patient w/ me as I don't always wear my appliance the recommended amount of time. Previous review: Dr. Sinclair and his team at Coastal Cosmetic Dentistry do a great job. I never had an initial dental exam be so thorough. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and why and how it relates to my overall health. The equipment he has is state-of-the-art. On a scale of 1-10, Coastal Cosmetic Dentistry is a 12! The entire team operates with the highest degree of professionalism and knowledge. Their scheduling and reminder system is stellar. In the past, I've been a reluctant and somewhat apprehensive dental patient. They have overcome all of my reluctance to practice proper preventive and ongoing dental hygiene. Thank you!

I've been coming to Coastal for over 10 years. Dr Sinclair uses state of the art imagery and dentistry equipment I've not found anywhere else. My cosmetic veneers are gorgeous and have withstood my grinding and wear. I've invested in two previous cosmetic sets with other dentists that ultimately cracked and failed. Dr Sinclair is truly a master of his craft.

Awesome experience I have had so far, and without a doubt I am sure it will continue. Very professional place. I have not had dental work done in quite some time, so I was EXTREMELY nervous coming into this process. I haven't seen a dentist in over 20 years because of bad experiences and anxiety, but when I walked into coastal something came over me the reception the tech and the doctor make me feel like I was a family member they took the time to listen to me and understood the things that I was going through and before I knew it I was so comfortable and relaxed and the smile on their face just overjoyed me and now I have visited them three times and when I walk in I'm happy and I'm very grateful for them to give me my confidence and looking forward to a beautiful smile thank you coastal for everything you have done for me on this journey. Time and time again they pull off miracles - the work itself as well as patient care. Their sensitivity to dental anxiety and pre-existing medical issues (and how to circumvent discomfort) blows me away every time I visit. Plus, when I'm at the practice, I feel like I am a dear friend!

I've been coming to see Dr Sinclair for several years now. The whole staff has always been so inviting and caring. Taking time to make sure your comfortable, that you understand the care your getting. Dr Sinclair has done a lot of care for my dental health. I will continue to go here whenever we live in the area.
