Dr. Van Wie was born and raised in Ridge Spring, SC. After graduating from Newberry College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1978, she moved to Charleston, SC, where she attended the Medical University of South Carolina Dental College. After graduating in 1981, she moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and started a solo family and cosmetic dental practice in Little River, SC.
Dr. Van Wie is an avid believer in providing the best and newest techniques available. Thus she has hundreds of hours in continuing education credits. She is certified by the Medical University of Georgia in IV Sedation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Medical Emergency Management. Dr. Van Wie has also been trained at the prestigious Dawson Institute in St. Petersburg, FL in TMJ and reconstructive dentistry. She not only wants to provide the patient with great personal care but functionally aesthetic dentistry that enhances the entire face and personality of her patient.
She is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and The American Academy of Implantology.
