Dr. Weinberg was raised in Durham, NC. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Wake Forest University before attending the University of North Carolina Dental School. Dr. Weinberg went on to complete his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). Before returning to North Carolina, he remained on faculty at CCHMC for 3 years. Dr. Weinberg has achieved Diplomate status as a board certified pediatric dentist with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Weinberg is past Chairman of the Board of the Childrens Museum and past Chairman of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Additionally, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, the North Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society. Dr. Weinberg lives in Wilmington with his wife Betsy and their two young daughters. He enjoys soccer, golf, running and spending time with his family.

My 3 daughters have been patients at Dimock, Weinberg, & Cherry for over 10 years and love going to the dentist! We've had a wonderful dental experience! The staff, hygienists, & dentists are all super friendly, kind, caring, and make going to the dentist a fun experience. The dentists and entire staff are extremely professional and knowledgeable and really take their time to explain any concerns they may have. The office is very neat, clean and kid friendly. I would highly recommend Dimock, Weinberg, & Cherry.

Took my son to what I thought was a regular cleaning appointment for his teeth as we had not been seen in several months. Wasn't until they started hooking him up to the laughing gas that i was told he was there for a cavity and 2 sealants. After explaining to 2 hygienists and the dentist herself that i was completely unaware we were there for anything other than a cleaning, not one of them even took pause to consider obatining informed consent to continue. As a medical provider myself, i am very well versed in informed consent especially when it comes to my kids. I stopped the visit in the middle as they were not listening to me when i tried to explain my sons teeth sensitivity. They then proceeded to tell me that my son would have to be sedated and separated from me for any additional dental procedures. My son has had several cavities that were addressed using a needle to numb with NO issue or reaction. This was his first negative dental experince and will be his last. Drugging a child and separating them from their parents is not a way to prevent negative experiences that is how you terrify a child, not to mention the risks involved in sedition. We have since returned to our family dentist and are back to nothing but positivity. This experience has me deeply concerned for any parents who do not know their rights when advocating for their child or who may not know about informed consent, as again, they NEVER obtained from me.

The absolute best Pediatric Dentist office in Leland and Wilmington! I can't thank Dr. Weinberg and his staff enough! My 1 year old ended up needing to have a procedure done which he put me at ease about and of course the day of the procedure things did not go as planned but they weren't phased one bit. He reassured me that everything would be okay and it was. I'm so thankful for their gentleness and care!

I took my daughters to the Leland office yesterday. The office was very clean and organized. My daughters felt very comfortable...they didn't even want me to come back with them (and it was my younger daughter's first trip to the dentist!). The hygienists kept me informed throughout the visit. Afterwards, Dr. Leon came and talked to me. She was very nice and knowledgeable. My kids got lots of goodies which they were excited about too! I was extremely impressed by our visit and look forward to using Coastal Carolina Pediatric Dentistry and Dr. Leon for years to come.

They have the best pediatric dentist in town. My son had a surgery with Dr. Leone. She is an amazing doctor. She understood our concerns and with a gentle voice, she offered us other solutions. If your child has dental issues, I highly recommend Dr. Leone. Great service.

Both of my sons had the same date appointment everyone in the office was very nice and respectful. The office was clean and neat. It was my youngest first time at the dentist and he was taken care of wonderfully. I definitely recommend the Leland office to anyone!! Both of my children were taken very good care of here. Dr. Cherry is an amazing dentist and you can tell how much he cares about his patients. Both my children had to have work done that required anesthesia at the hospital. Of course we were scared and anxious, but Dr. Cherry helped ease all our worries. I had heard, before we chose this office, that they were great, but nothing prepared me for how great! My kids both loved Dr. Cherry, all the staff at the office, and at the hospital, involved in their care. I absolutely love how Dr. Cherry always took time to explain things in detail, and answer any questions we had. I've never had so much faith in a dentist! I will always recommend Dr. Cherry to anyone looking for an excellent dentist! The only thing I could even slightly complain about, is that they don't take medicaid, unless it's a severe case. So my children only got repairs and extractions done. I do wish he could be their regular dentist, but as someone who was in the medical field, I do understand the pain of dealing with billing Medicaid! So still a 5 star dentist in my book!
