TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

They tell you one price. And we have insurance. But then I get billed. More money. I don't mind paying but that's ridiculous not the first. Time either. I gave them another try. For nothing .. they have nice staff sweet.but that's it . I'm always there for hours. Never. In and out .. always trying to sell you things as well .. not happy with this place

If i could give a zero I would this place doesn't have a dentist. What kind of dental office has no Dentist. I had to switch my insurance to another dental office with a real Dentist. Don't waste your time at this place. What happens in an emergency ?? They can do nothing for you. Unreal and they haven't had a dentist for over a year. They also try to sell you night guards that are like 700 that you can get for 20 bucks on line. They tell everyone they grind there teeth at night. I guess with no dentist they have to upsell to make money. Terrible so called detal office.

1) no on-site dentist or orthodontist.. only a virtual doctor! Doesn't make any sense at all. 2) DO NOT FALL FOR THE CLEAR ALIGNERS .. it does NOT WORK! I have been more than patient with telling them it did not straighten my teeth... they have LOST 3 of my impressions that were going to be used to fix my teeth. I have to go back for a 4th time to do it again, which means taking off of work. This office is poorly managed and how this company operates is awful.. save yourself and choose a real dentist office.

I Love Coast Dental the dental, I've been going to Coast Dental now for 1 year, the hygienist was amazing. She cleaned my teeth so good, she took her time and was so thorough, Coast Dental is the best dentist I've ever been to. The only downfall is that they don't have a dentist, it's been a year now with no dentist. Other than that they're amazing and everybody at the front desk is so nice and friendly.

Coast Dental has been absolutely wonderful, especially in comparison to other places I've been around here through the years. The staff is remarkably friendly and the Dr. works hard to give you the best bang for your buck, being realistic in his diagnosis and recommendations. If you visit here you'll not leave disappointed in my experience! I'm switching my whole family over to this office.
