TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

FYI I walked out after playing hardball over the balances. I was really hoping this chain had changed but no, they are still upselling left and right. I felt like a target as soon as I walked through the front door. The front desk seemed especially adamant about the services required for a routine dental appointment, as if anything was up for debate. I am not saying they weren't nice. I wondered why a basic exam had to be so complicated. Luckily they weren't the only provider in my directory. Money is not easy to come by for me, so nooooo easy go. Where do I go from here?

Dr Hanna delivers quality care and is very attentive when providing dental services and procedures. Her assistant Kristina is very professional and explained treatment plan prior and during procedures. Took great care in taking x-rays, excellent chair side skills when assisting dentist. She also demonstrated great patience in creating a temporary bridge and made sure it was properly fitted. Overall great dental office with a extremely friendly and professional staff

Dr. Hanna and staff were very helpful. I was able to get in very quickly. My tooth was chipped. Dr. Hanna thought I should have a crown but I asked if I could wait 2 weeks until my insurance was in place. So she glued it back and when it fell off again, she glued it at no extra cost the second time. I am scheduled to get the crown after my insurance is activated. All of the staff were helpful and took the time to help me navigate the system.

This place is so trash it's kinda sad. My appointment was at 8:50a. Mind you they open at 8:30a. I didn't go back until 9:30. There were two bugs that had to be killed or let out outside and they tried to distract me during those incidents so that must be a normal thing that takes place. My insurance covers cleanings yet they somehow find a way for my visit to be over 200 dollars. After leaving at 10:30 I got an X-ray and the doc in my room for 45 seconds. I didn't even get a cleaning. They said I'd have to wait another 30 minutes so I left. They're scammers and very unsanitary.

My family was new to Florida and wanted to meet a really, really good dentist and staff. The Coast Dental was 40 minutes away from my home, but it's worth the long driving. Especially with the help of the Korean Hygienist Jun, we were able to completely escape our fear of dentistry. Because of him. We met him at St. Petersburg's dentist, and my family decided to follow him to his working place. Of course, front desk staffs, Christina, and doctor Hanna were all very kind and supportive. We are lucky to have this place.

This place was great. All the staff was nice and very professional. I had a emergency because my tooth broke and it needed to be extracted an Dr Houda Fakhre was just amazing. She accommodated me in her busy schedule right away. She extracted my teeth and I did not feel any pain. If I could I will rate her work 10 stars but 5 is the maximum here. Thank you very much

Arrived for my appointment 10 min late. Arrival time 9:07 am Receptionist wasn't the happiest person when you first walk in the doors. Didn't get welcomed in. As for the actual exam, I came in for a cleaning. Sat for almost 3 hrs to not even get the cleaning service I booked the appointment for. Not to mention being short on staff due to a nurse quitting, the doctor was working in my mouth while also writing things in my chart because the other nurse was helping other clients. I get having to multitask but not washing hands in between glove changes and using a pen that has been touched by countless others isn't very hygienic. 100% wouldn't recommend anyone make an appointment at this particular office.

October 4 2022, was a great day with my wonderful dentists and her lovely assistant as always very fast and pleasant Thank you. _______________________ Dr. Haidy Hanna she's awesome and wonderful dentists she showed me how concerned she was about my health she also amazes me how quickly the procedure was done all I can say is wow!!. She is a amazing woman and her assistant who was there helping her out with me she's so sweet, she was humming a musical sound that kept me so calm I felt so relaxed. I think that was wonderful. This was the best experience I've had in a year, from the trauma I went through at Dr Richard McMillan dentist on University plaza. Thank you
