TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

The staff was very professional and accommodating.The only complaint that I have is they need to upgrade the waiting room furniture and spruce it up.

I always hear complaints from people who go to the dentist, I have been going to Coast Dental for some time now and I have absolutely no complaints from the receptionist to the dentist I am treated with respect and they honestly have my best interest in mind. I find them all to be Professional and caring. I bought the Smile Plus Plan because I have no insurance and saved more money than I thought possible. The staff recommend it to me. I highly recommend this dental office in Titusville off Garden st. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you for reading my opinion.

My Tech Martha was very courteous and professional even the lady who tally up your bill has a smile on her face but front desk she's the best they might want to her collect the money it puts a big smile on her face. Thanks Coastal Dental. Great customer service

I've been to Coast Dental off Garden St 3 x's & each time I was treated by a friendly staff w/ upbeat personality's even if ur on the ph w/ them they r kind & respectful listen to ur every word. Dr Ash is the Dr I seen during the 1st visit & his bedside manner was welcoming he was honest w/ procedure I needed & assured me no root canal needed just a feeling. Ik if a few Dentist that wld have well let me just say not have been as honest. I had my periodontal maintenance appt today w/ a new hygienist who was so chill which put a calmness in the room. Not that I was nervous but who feels comfortable keeping their mouth open for an hour lol. No sensitivity was felt she did an amazing job on my teeth. When she showed me in the mirror I was Wowed looked like I had a new set of teeth. I'm glad I went for maintenance & will cont every 4 months to keep my gums & teeth in better shape. Time to take care of Mom now that the kids r living their lives as adults. If ur a Mom don't ignore ur needs ur just as important as ur children. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience at Coast Dental % the best I've ever been to. I'd like to see a more updated waiting room chairs r very old & my 1st impression was oh no wonder what the Drs like. But I was wrong he's amazing. U definitely need to clean up & buy new chairs & more of them. Decor isn't important but for 1st impressions it cld easily put a patient in a negative way & not be open to really see & enjoy the visits like I have. A+++ on everyone & everything else.

Horrible experience. I went to the same dentist for 15 years with no issues but insurance changed so I needed to change my dentist. When I got there they told me I had extreme gingivitis (which I do not) and refuse to clean my teeth unless I paid 250 to treat it. I immediately called my old dentist and he assured me my teeth were fine and they were just trying to get money out of me. Then when the dentist came in, they were doing it over zoom. The person consulting me was doing it over zoom and not even looking in my mouth. I got up and left since they refused to clean my teeth and are now charging me for a service they didn't even provide (when it's supposed to be cover by insurance anyway).

PROS: When I call, someone always answers. They call to confirm appointments and if someone cancels, they'll call you to see if you want to fill that spot -love that. Everyone in the office is sweet and competent, they explained everything out and answer every question. I would definitely recommend this place. CONS: The waiting area could use an upgrade (those chairs are so old and uncomfortable).

Worst dentist ever.....took months to get in. Then said they couldn't help my husband when he finally got in..... cancelled Apt by phone 1st time, I mean what other horrible sevices do they offer? Interesting.....I don't recommend this dentist to anyone.
