TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

We booked an appointment 6 months ahead. A couple of days before the appointment we got a cancelation notice. Somehow people left the office and it just didn't feel right so we decided to change dentist.

I had appointment on 9/7/2022 for 2:00pm. I sat in lobby for over an hour. I was the only patient in the office. They finally came out and we went to back. I went in just to get fitted for bottom dentures. I have very good insurance and they want to charge me over $10,000 for bottom dentures. The receptionist was very rude. No one spoke English. Not a good place. STAY AWAY !!!!!

Always a pleasure seeing Dr Raqueline De Sousa AND her caring staff! I can't praise them enough! I do hope they get a Dental Hygienist soon for when I'll need to get my teeth deep-cleaned over driving to their Fruitville location, but otherwise... They're THE BEST! Thanks to Coast Dental Beneva!

It says it's open from 8 am - 5pm I came at 3 pm for an appointment and there's no one inside and nobody answered my phone calls I'm extremely confused and disappointed

This is absolutely the Worst dental Office I've ever been to! I had to do a Root canal and had to wait for the crown for 2.5 months because their lab was not good with them and was delaying the orders per the dental office associates words. And why do I have to suffer with a temporary crown that kept on braking for so long after I was promised 2 weeks which also seemed long time but I was ok I'll wait. 2 weeks turned into 2.5 months.... And they also send me a bill to pay the work one more time after I had paid for already!Wow! Then I had a veneer that came off and went to them to cement it back on. The dental assistant ended up placing it the wrong way and cemented it that way! I was in tears! The dentist came to "fix the issue" by trying to yank the veneer out which was impossible Then she wanted to drill it out but had to order with that same shady lab a new veneer which I refused.(Didn't want to wait another 5 months for a veneer) She ended up fixing it somewhat but it feels like it'll come off eventually it's not feeling right. Now everything comes in 3 right? Yes me the crazy person ended up booking another appointment with them to finish the xtrays they started when I first came in but never did because I was in lots of pain that 1st visit. So I wanted to make sure all my other teeth are healthy. Ended up waiting 1h for them in the waiting room and no one paid %1 attention to my question what is going on why wait so long. The lady upfront said they're busy gotta wait. And I simply got up and left. Will never come back!!

This place is a hot mess. I had scheduled an emergency visit 3-4 weeks ago. I was waiting room for 2 1/2 hours. This was ridiculous. Assistants could not speak english. Will never go back especially after the doctor kicked me out of the office and told me to leave all because i kept asking how much longer. Be forewarned before going here. I will never go back.

My fiance went in for an emergency appointment she was in tears and super swollen before her visit they ended up deciding to do a draining to get the tooth out due to the severity. My fiance came home acting as if she didn't just have a tooth pulled and the meds took a lot of swelling away already. The staff members stayed open later then normal to help her out right away. It's nice to see her back to herself so soon thanks to the staff she will actually get some rest tonight.

Unfortunately the old Coast Dental seems to be back. Told $450 for a crown with my insurance. I paid that. Just got a bill in the mail for $710 additional. Although staff and dentist excellent, they are completely let down on the administrative and management side of Coast Dental. It's a recurrent problem I thought they had fixed. Clear change here. The good dentist, hygienist and supporting staff always excellent and professional and kind here. There had been previously a real problem with administration/management. Seems a concerted effort has been made to bring that side of the business up to the level of the exceptional medical and clinical staff. Very happy with the change. I will reevaluate and confirm upon completion of present services.
