TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

Service was amazing like always from the ladies at the reception (Tanya and the Manager which I forgot her name right now. Sorry) I was attended for the first time by Lisett. She was amazing! Providing an excellent service, She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank you Lisett. Unfortunately today I had my first bad experience at this location and I wasn't because of any of the ladies I mentioned before, it came from a lady named Nancy. She was very unprofessional and rude when She approached Lisett to gave her some instructions. She talked to her with an attitude and with a very demanding tone of voice in front of me. I felt so bad and embarrased because of the way She treated Lisett, and She doesn't even care that I was present. I was so disappointed. Even after being treated that bad from Nancy, Lisett apologized to me for the situation, which She don't had to, because She didn't do anything wrong to be treated like that. And if it was because She was taking too long to finish with me, it was my fault because I was asking some questions in regards of my treatment, which She happily answered. This lady Nancy definitely is the rotten apple of this place. Hope you guys can take care of this situation and this unprofessional employee and prevent her from damaging the great reputation and service from this location in Orange City. Thank you again Lisett, Tanya, the Doctor and the reception Manager for being so friendly and amazing like always!

I found a good, skilled dentist who puts me at ease with my anxiety over going to the dentist....he reminds me so patiently and kindly to take deep breaths while getting the numbing shots and I swear after that, dental work is a piece of cake! All because of this dentist! Kudos to you Doctor! At 74 I have had many dentists but none as good as you as good at dealing with patient anxiety.

I would have given 5 stars except the Tanya "The woman who checks you in and the brunette lady" seem to be on a pedestal that can be easily kicked over! Very rude!!!! One person walked out because of it! Idk what's going on in their world but everyone has problems as well! Treat people how you want to be treated!!

This is my second recent visit to be seen by Dr. Cava. I very much like his personality and he seems very dedicated to give the best quality service. I really appreciate his assistant. They both explained the procedure very well as we proceed. I will be taking my husband there.

Got a filing done. It fell out within 2 weeks, had to go around with a big hole for a few days, went back for another filling done. It fell out same day. Now Im back to walking around with a big hole in my tooth. I will not let them touch my teeth Again. Stay away v far away!!! Nobody in that office cares about the patients, the building it's in should be condemned. It's musky and extremely dirty. Idk why the state has not shot them down

Every thing was great except the receptionist she was rude and had no personality a couple walked out because she wouldn't let them ask a question. I am legally deaf and she was also rude and not very understandig.

I have made four appointments. They have canceled four appointments. Every single time, I have given my insurance and I got a call an HOUR before the 4th appointment saying they no longer take it. Their "call center" does not communicate with the office and it's impossible to actually get in contact. They cancel appointments for no reason besides this too. Do not waste your time or energy.

Very friendly staff. They're great at working with your insurance and knowing what services are covered. My only complaint is that the office is booked quite a bit out so it's hard to get an appointment, and wait times in the office were pretty long. The staff is so great they make up for the inconveniences, though.

I was very impressed with my visit at coast dental everyone was very nice this was my very first visit and the place was tidy and clean the doctor was nice also I highly recommend coast dental I only had one complaint It's a little cold!!!!!!!
