TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

Let me start with the most important thing: The people here are SUPER. From reception through the techs to doctor Ike, genuine, caring, interested in your wellbeing and real. The only reason I can't give five stars is it really needs a good scrubbing, particularly the floors. There were stains that concerned me. All that having been said, though, we will use them for our dental needs going forward because how you're treated is the most important thing to us.

Dr Ike is not professional she lacks all customer service skills. I felt it my first visit and every visit since. I paid for service and it is so bad that it's useless. I went for adjustment was told $180.00 when she already knew her job was done sloppy and wrong size. I am contacting BBB and Cobb County Health Dept I want a refund to my insurance company. I have contacted them today.

I had my temporary crown put in today. The staff was kind and professional as always. They explained what was going to happen in a professional manor. Everything was discussed and done according to plan. They made getting dental work a much better experience than expected!

If u are terrified of needles, Dr. IKE IS THE VERY BEST! U will be pleasantly surprised at how gentle she is. No Pain. Slight discomfort for a few seconds. That's it. Don't be deterred by location. U absolutely will not regret it. And her assistant Shae is also very very good. These Professional women are Angels. If you're afraid of having dental work done, "Fear No More" with Coastal Dental, namely Dr.Ike & Shae. The staff are so nice.

UPDATED REVIEW: Changing my review because I started receiving bills in the mail months after my filling appointment. I called, asked for explanations and breakdowns of the bill and no one could ever give me an answer. I left messages and no one ever called me back. I was eventually sent to collections and interest was added to the bill. In full, I paid for about $300 out of pocket when the lady in the office told me I'd only pay $97. Thoroughly disappointed because I had a really nice experience here. I will not be back to this dentist's office. Original Review: Had a great experience here! The front desk, staff, and dentist were so friendly and made me feel comfortable!

Dr Ike and her staff deserved 5 star rating for their professionalism, courteousness. Much to my surprise it was a great experience. I had mix emotions because of Covid to go to the dentist. Due to the attitude and friendliness of the staff I felt comfortable.

How many people can say they enjoy going to the Dentist? Well I can. As a new patient I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome from the receptionist and the rest of the staff. Dr. Ike has hands of gold. I usually have anxiety when anticipating the novocaine shot but Dr. Ike made it easy and I hardly felt the needle. All of the staff are very friendly from Hygienist, Rodrick, to Ty to Shay. They just don't treat you like a number. They make you feel welcome and at home. They go out of their way to accommodate whatever you need. I have had many dental issues over the years and I have to say that this is the BEST experience I have ever had and I would highly recommend Coast Dental to anyone looking for a dentist or looking for a change. You won't be sorry you did.
