TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

I have dental insurance and this place has charged me ridiculous amounts of money for a deep cleaning a few months ago ($697) and then for what was supposed to be a routine cleaning ($280). This is getting out of hand. I don't care how nice the guy who cleaned my teeth was. They wait till you're actually laying in the dental chair to hand you an invoice to sign, which I don't like as that seems like its pressuring me into just signing because I'm already in the chair. When I asked why I'm being charged so much when I have dental insurance that is supposed to cover most if not all of what is being done to me they just say that these are the copays I'm paying on each individual thing. They do not seem to want to go to bat for me to appeal claims at all (and if anything on the most recent cleaning they put the wrong dentist on my claim so it looks like I went to an out-of-network dentist). I'm not going back here. Go elsewhere.

My hygienist is amazing however my last two visits I was not impressed by the cleaning of the clinic the sinks inside the office were dirty the bathroom was even worst I brought that to their attention even last time I'm not sure if that will actually change a thing but if that continues I will have to change dentist !

Process from front door to services professional and friendly. I got a deep cleaning by Julio who performed an excellent job. His care during cleaning was so careful and polite. I was actually excited about my mouth afterwards and had good aftercare instructions. Available payment plan helps with getting care for your mouth. They also accessed other issues and gave you a proposal for care and cost. Very nice and impressed.

Wonderful the staff made me feel at ease (I hate the dentist). But Dr.Zachary Brown is the best and they were so wonderful. It was so easy what an experience and my teeth are beautiful. !!!! I Loveo Them!!!

I had a first time visit... and I was so comfortable starting at the front deck to the back everyone that works there was just fabulous and the dentist was so nice and explained everything also they didn't make you feel bad about all the problems. They were just great. Thanks

I really liked the dental hygienist named Julio. I've never had a male hygienist, but he used the right amount of force on my teeth, a little more than females have used in the past. He was extremely fast but efficient. He did a wonderful job all around! I didn't have to wait too long in the lobby either. I had a nice experience. Thank you Coast Dental Largo Florida!

For years I avoided the dentist because of the anxiety I felt just thinking about going. Now at age 70 I knew it was now or never and if I didn't choose now my teeth would eventually start to fall out. I had broken my partial three months ago which was also what brought me to Coast dental. I knew it was time to get that long overdue cleaning and also have four molars extracted. My first visit was awesome. The doctor explained everything that needs to be done and they cleaned my teeth the same day as my first visit. The hygienist is very caring and takes her time. She is gentle and I'm so happy I chose this practice. Next Tuesday I have my 4 teeth removed and then work on the partial. I highly recommend Coast dental.

I haven't been to the dentist in a very long time, so it's safe for me to say I wasn't really calm about my visit. However the staff at Coast dental made me feel comfortable and in short everything they did made me feel comfortable. And the work that they did the cleaning ,,the work in my mouth ,,the needles, everything was just great they were very professional and did a great job.

I don't understand how this dental company can advertise on there website that one of there specialties is pediatric dentistry and all these other great services they offer to get you to choose them to be your children's dentist.But then when your 7 year old is told he needs a filling with gas to help do it they want to give you a referral and tell you to find a pediatric dentist. The whole reason I even picked this place was for my kids because they said they did pediatric dentistry.But at the end of the day every time I've brought one of my kids here all in ever able to get for them is a $50 bill for them to basically brush my kids teeth.And that's with having insurance. After talking with someone who worked there after they told my wife they wouldn't do my son's filling I honestly think they don't even know what there website even says what services they actually are capable of doing. So if you have kids don't bother going through the trouble with your insurance company picking them as your primary dentist or you will end up wasting more time finding your kids a new pediatric dentist that takes your insurance once your child needs a actual procedure done.

Staff were great. Very friendly and patient. Dr Zachary Brown is the best dentist ever! Caring and compassionate. Explained treatment plan thoroughly and answered all questions. Did not feel rushed. Teeth worked on look perfect. Came in for an emergency visit and left w a new favorite provider!
