TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

So far so good! I went in for exams not even knowing I can have my teeth clean at the same time !!! I ended wanting Invisaligner I have pretty teeth already but I want perfect ! They offered a payment plan which works for my needs ! Thanks you Dr. Patel and crew !

Hands down the best team I have come across. From the Office manager to Front desk and all the clinical Staff at back-end, they run a smooth operation. Very courteous, informative and professional. I can't recommend this location enough. I came to know that both Hygienists here, are actually Dentists from a different country. That just made me a little more comfortable that I was under the best care I could expect.

North Lakeland office delivers Excellent services, have a friendly staff. Latest technology. I was seen by Shilpa Singh the dental hygienist. She is so professional, detailed oriented and very warm. In my 66 years this is the first time I've been treated like doctor and staff really cares. I would be continuing my dental needs in this office with Shilpa Singh. 100% recommended you won't regret.

I made an appointment for my husband to be a new customer. We had to wait over a month for the appointment. He has a painful loose tooth after his stroke. His appointment was for standard new patient cleaning and to determine what needs done for his tooth. He has been suffering this entire time waiting. I provided all of his information at the time of scheduling but his birth date was not recorded into the system somehow. They waited this entire time, over a month, on the day of his appointment to call and get the missing information that they neglected to input. They call back and cancel his appointment claiming his insurance is out of network. When I called more then a month ago I verified with their staff that his insurance was accepted. Why would it take them this long to verify his insurance? If it was the missing birthdate they neglected to enter with all the information they requested why would they wait until the day of his appointment to get it? Extremely upset. The error should have been caught. I even got a reminder text after THEY canceled the appointment. Thankfully the next dentist we found can get him in in a few days.

Coast Dental in north Lakeland is a very pleasant and clean environment. My cleaning was very thorough and the clinician was kind and courteous. He put on some really relaxing music. I actually enjoyed the experience!! Thank you for being so professional

Dr Katz and his staff are great. Professional and polite. They do their best not to cause any pain or discomfort, checking constantly as to your pain level etc. White glove service. I do highly recommend using this dentist.
