TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

They quoted my son a deep cleaning for 244 dollars, he walked out of there owing 500 dollars. I will never recommend these people they saw a young man and took full advantage of him.

Zero stars!! Do not fall into the scam at this dental office. My husband went and was quoted $780 for a "deep cleaning" which was not necessary. It's a money scam, just run!

I have been having dental hygiene at South Lakeland Coast Dental since they re-opened after Covid. My hygienist is fabulous and does excellent work. I would highly recommend seeing their hygienist if you want a very thorough cleaning.

Don't walk, run away! I went there as a new patient to have a cleaning & all they cared about was selling me expensive treatments my insurance didn't cover. When I said no they argued & tried to sell me the we'd "set up a payment plan". I needed antibiotics, I said write me a rx, I have a 0 co-pay , they wanted to put the meds in my tooth for $300 even though they said it would have the same results. She wouldn't do the cleaning unless I agreed to it, so I walked out, what a scam!!

Not very helpful in explaining what is happening, just kinda move forward without much discussion. They also don't have a dentist anymore, they left this company. So they don't even have a functioning dentist office without a dentist I mean how could you.

The office staff was extremely nice. I tried getting X-rays from previous dentist to no avail. They were understanding. They took awesome care of my big child. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding service. This kind of service is hard to find today. I give 100

I was very pleased with this Coast Dental. The staff were all very nice and professional. They all were very caring. This facility is clean and updated. Although I think some of their equipment needs updating. The staff went to all measures as far as disinfecting. I was impressed. The Dr. was very nice. Although, on this visit it was a zoom on a big TV. She went over a treatment plan. Explained everything as the Hygienist did also. I will be returning for my recommended dental care.

Received a confirmation call the day before, check in at the front desk were nice and gentle. My hygienist was excellent as always, make tell confortable and took care of me, asking me if I was ok or if something hurt. Check out was easy and gave me my next date appointment. Thanks, everyone in this office is excellent

They never listen to what you are asking of them, give inconsistent reviews of your x rays, and they often lose records of you paying them its a complete mess of an office
