TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

I had a rocky first impression of this office but they have since redeemed themselves. The day of my first appointment they were understaffed and very, very behind schedule. I had Danielle as my dental hygienist. My second time coming in yesterday, Danielle greeted me with a warm, welcoming smile even though I was a huge grouch the first time meeting her. Danielle is great at what she does. She is a good conversationalist and has an awesome bedside manner. She has a genuine disposition and cares about the patients she treats. I got the feel that Dr. Goodman very much does as well. Thank you Danielle and Dr. Goodman!

Dr. Goodman was absolutely amazing!! Super polite, explained every details of my aligners as well as the process. She was also gentle, even though what she was doing was filing my teeth & my teeth were VERY close together. When we were done she popped my aligners on & there was some sharp edges, but she smoothed them down no problem. I'm very satisfied with what happened today. Now I will have to see how these aligners do for me.

I came early and I had to sit in there for an hour before anyone came to the front desk. Mr. Dell was great! Him and the dr. got the job done fast.

Absolute worst dentist on the planet. Went in for an emergency visit, abscessed root, swollen, painful, was told by the dentist "I could die". Crown fell off another front lower tooth. Needed both fixed ASAP. Took months to get absolutely nowhere. Dentist, ruined first temp. crown, you wouldn't believe that experience, no hygiene, drops my tooth on floor, no change of gloves between patients, I was in there ALL DAY had to come back 5 more times each time got WORSE! Then my actual tooth, when the permanent crown came in, (temp. lasted 4 days and tasted like metal and then assistant yelled at me and told me it was my fault she couldn't do her job") dentist made my tooth nub what was left of it so small and then shaved the actual crown because of course it didn't fit too small so now there was a gap. Had to go to the other Coast in Mandarin that doc looks at me and says nothing he can do it now needs a root canal and she shaved the tooth too short. Had to fly to Mexico or pay out of network to get it done and paid for insurance as well as 2 trips to Mexico to get professional and safe dental care. The lady I was talking to in the waiting room for 5 hours told me she had no teeth left from this dentist and she doesn't know why she keeps going back! Then they tried to keep my $$$ for the crown and it took me over 8 weeks to get my money back. This place is downright scary. Oh and I almost forgot, the "new kid" taking my impressions. He was wearing jeans and a street t-shirt, no smock no gloves no nothing, has no clue how to do impressions (which I had to do all over again) and had zero experience or training, said it was his first day, after 3 tries of not letting it sit and set long enough and me pulling pieces out of my mouth for the next 2 hours I was done. And if you like fire hoses, you will love this dentist with her novicaine needle! You will taste it for days! Good luck and may the force be with you, you are gonna need it!

Yeah. Supply me with corporate headquarters number.Dr Goodman doesn't like for her patients to feel pain is bogus! She pulled my tooth and then she gave me my antibiotic I had dry root the worst pain ever these reviews are paid actors because no way in hell she did overnight change of personality. My money down the drain for a crown she cracked and for a plan she never stick with. Swollen and painful gums and kept calling to see if I would return? Hell no!!! Update: That number IS A FRAUD! I went to the Board!
