TAMPA, Fla. (October 13, 2020) Coast Dental & Orthodontics is notifying patients about a data theft investigation. The information stolen involves certain patients who received care at the Coast Dental offices in Conyers and North Druid Hills in Georgia.
During the night of August 6, 2020 into August 7, 2020, a locked moving truck containing equipment and patient records was stolen from a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia. The police recovered the truck on or about August 8, 2020 and the truck was secured by the police and placed in an impound lot. Coast Dental placed a lock on the truck while it was in the secured impound lot until the truck could be moved from impound. On August 25, 2020, Coast Dental recovered access and possession of the truck and the items inside the truck. Coast Dental secured the contents and transferred the property to its facility in Florida. From approximately August 26 through August 28, 2020, the contents were inventoried, and upon a full investigation, it was discovered that among other equipment and property, approximately 1,700 patient records containing patient information were compromised or missing.
In an abundance of caution, on October 13, 2020, Coast started mailing letters to affected patients, notifying them of this incident and also offering access to credit monitoring services at no cost to those whose social security numbers may have been compromised. Patients whose information was involved are advised to follow the instructions in the letter to protect their data.
Patients who believe they may be affected by this incident may call (855) 252-2731 Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., and Saturday - Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST., excluding major U.S. holidays.
Coast Dental is committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of patient information. In response to the incident, Coast Dental has provided additional education to its workforce members and refined processes to better secure patient information.

The staff was so helpful & caring too. It was my 1st visit today, I'm very glad I waited for this appt., it was worth waiting for. In addition, the costs are quite fair and my insurance covered 90% of it.

This is the most unprofessional facility I have ever experienced in my life. First, their appointment line is outsourced to a company in India. They representative provides inaccurate and blatantly false Information. (Remarkably, the office staff even said those exact words) Secondly, I was pushed into unneccessary x ray's for my son. I agreed because we desperately need an orthodontic referral. I came to realize they NEED these x-rays becuaw they're is no dentist on staff!! NO.DENTIST. you meet with the dentist virtually once the xrays are done. I could not get away from this place fast enough. I wouldn't go back here if they offered it for free.

The hygienist is very good. This office has not had a dentist for more than a year. The facility needs a facelift badly. The carpet is nasty and the vinyl on the chairs is peeling off. The office staff are very friendly.

Let me start with the important stuff first. This is by far the WORST dental practice I have ever been to and would NEVER go back, even if you paid me to. I wish I could leave ZERO stars. The first indication I should have gone elsewhere was when I tried to make an appointment and couldn't get one for 3 months. As it got closer to the date, I received a reminder text and email. Both indicated that if I had any questions, I should reply to them. I did to both, and to this day have never heard back. I instead had to call to get my question answered. On the day of my appointment, I probably should've walked out the door as soon as I walked in. There was no receptionist...ever. Nearly every chair in the waiting area is ripped. I don't even think a thrift store would accept them as a donation. The antique TV in the wall had a built-in VCR. After sitting there for about 20 minutes a patient came out through the door with an angry look on his face and stormed out the door. A few minutes later and employee came out and asked if a patient just left. Someone finally came out to get me for my appointment 40 minutes past the scheduled time. He took me to the exam room where he told me that after the x-rays a doctor on the TV monitor would go over them with me. I asked where the specific dentist was that I had an appointment with and was told "we have no doctor here." Then I was told they couldn't clean my teeth today either. I would have to make another appointment. Seriously? Why was I there? You couldn't tell me all that ahead of time? That was the final straw. I walked out. Three months of waiting for an appointment. Forty-five minutes to drive there. Forty minutes left waiting. Another forty-five-minute drive home. For what? Nothing!! A complete waste of time. Now I understand all the 1-star reviews. I will never go to one of their offices again and strongly recommend you don't either. This review will of course receive their standard copy and paste response which means nothing! No, I am not interested in calling the number you'll post, and I seriously don't believe a word you say. I only hope that people read all the BAD reviews and that it keeps you from wasting your time and money. UPDATE: Can you say INSURANCE FRAUD? Coast Dental sent my insurance company a bill for $227 for X-Rays and "unspecified preventative procedure." Seriously? They did neither of those things and have committed insurance fraud and have now been reported, and a complain filed.

First of all, your office staff Lady & Linda-upfront are Top Notch! Lady can run that office. A few concerns I had with another office they put mind to rest. Thank you. As I was called to the back. Realizing Mike and I had met years ago when he first started with CD. Mike did a great Job with my X-rays and explaining procedures. Then onto my cleaning Monica did an amazing job!! Thanks for working as a team and keep up the good work.
